Prom Dress Received the Day Before Prom – Beautiful dresses and a good variety if you purchase what's on the shelf; however, EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. I DO I DO makes false promises and never return calls or give correct information. I purchased my daughters prom dress months in advance and it arrived the day before prom. I called numerous time for an update on the status and was given different dates each time, different excuses or the call was avoided (I'll call you back) all together. I paid for alternations to be done and they never happened (stopped checked on that part of the sale). I was told the dress would be delivered directly to me at work (the day before prom). It wasn't! I still had to drive out to the location in Chesterfield the morning of her prom because the dress wasn't brought to me the day before as promised. I finally get the dress and feel great only to learn that the alterations weren't done. Luckily my mother was off of work and took my daughter around town looking for a location to do alterations. We found a little shop (thank God) in Florissant who measured her the same day and had the alterations done in a few hours. I wish I knew the name of this place but I don't, but I owe them for this huge favor. They are in Florissant on New Florissant by a local donut shop. I wouldn't give I DO I DO a dime of my money or recommend anyone go through what we did. JUST STAY AWAY.
Happily Ever After - Fantastic New Owners! – My daughter got married Sept 6th. We originally had a terrible time with the previous owners of I do, I do Bridal, never returning phone calls or e-mails and lying about my daughter's dress and veil, saying it was ordered when, come to find out, it never was. These new owners, bent over backwards, to make my daughter happy on her wedding day. New owner, Jenna personally paid for my daughter's veil with her own credit card after she realized that the veil was ordered back in May, but never processed by the company. It turns out that the companies were putting holds on all the previous orders because Charlene (previous owner) took the money from her customers but never paid the companies themselves. Jenna even gave me her personal cell phone number so I would be able to contact her at any time
I am sick of these reviews telling half truths. How DARE anyone write a review to criticize someone without knowing the truth. These new owners bought the business, not knowing any of the trouble the previous store was in. They are determined to make it work and are committed to their customers!
I would definitely use this business next time and will recommend it highly to my friends! Thanks Jenna!
New name, same horrible service – I am a bridesmaid in a Sept 2009 wedding and originally purchased my dress from I Do I Do while the previous owner was still around. After not getting our dresses in July or August even as promised, the new owner I guess sold her business to two new people and it now goes by the name Happily Ever After. Do not be fooled by this. We still had horrible service with the new owners. No one wanted to take responsibility for our missing dresses or for refunds. Finally the dresses came into the shop (turns out the previous owner never paid the dress company until just days ago), but the new owners did not overnight the dresses to the bridesmaids as promised (since the wedding is 12 days away and alterations needed to be made!) because she said it "just would have cost me too much money." Still a crappy business. Do not even bother with the new owners, go somewhere else!
A Professionals Opinion – I am a manager of a small bridal boutique in St.Louis and I frequently look on here to see what brides are thinking of the stores around us. I have never personally been into I do I do, but I have dealt with several emergency situations that come from them. As a bridal industry insider, I wanted to offer my opinion for what it's worth. The issue with getting things in on time seems to be the number one thing girls talk about. The bridesmaid designer's I work with usually ship within 10-12 weeks of the order being placed. Once I place the order I am given an approximate ship date in which I write in the customers file, so if they call and ask I can answer when it will be in. Bridal gowns take about 4 to 6 months to come in. The average lead time is about 4 1/2 months. Again, I will get the ship date for them. As a bride or bridesmaid, you have every right to call and ask for the ship date for your purchased item, and the employee is required to tell you. Keep in mind, every designer has different ordering times. In the typical situations, all of the garments for the wedding should arrive and be picked up about four months to the date of the event.Keep in mind, almost all dresses have to be altered. Allow time for this to take place!! We do not do alterations at my shop, which makes life so much easier. You have the choice to go to the one's I recommend but you by no means have to do them there.
As far as the customer service goes, it is completely unexceptable to never return calls, messages, or answer questions. I will admit that some days are a little crazy and it is impossible to answer the phone and return messages right away, but at some point, I WILL get back to you! When we work with our brides, we believe that there is a level of respect that must be present on both sides. By accomplishing this, we develop close bonds with our brides that allows us to feel less like just the person who sold them there dress.. and more like their friend! A wedding is such a special day in every girls life, and it needs to be treated as such. Every person in this business needs to realize that, because if they don't they will never succeed-much like I do I do!
Stay Away, Go Somewhere eles....... – Just read all the other reviews that people have to say, STAY AWAY GO SOMEWHERE ELES TO GET YOU WEDDING DRESS & BRIDESMAIDS DRESS. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! – I experienced the worst customer service possible at I Do I Do Bridal. My dress needed alterations on 3 hems on the top and some inches taken off the bottom. Charlene (not the seamstress) pinned me at my first fitting. I was pinned on my chest, not under my arms.
When I went to try the dress on the hems were not sewn straight, and it looked like a 2 year old had sewn it back together. Charlene tried to tell me that those hems would have never been touched. She didn’t have an answer for me when I explained that she was the one that had pinned me there. They had also taken the length off of the top layer of my dress, but not the lining or the tool. She agreed to have it fixed.
I called on the following Monday and left several messages to find out when my dress would be ready. On Tuesday, I still hadn’t been called back so I started calling again. I was told that it “should” be ready by Thursday, but she would let me know for sure. Wednesday she still hadn’t called to confirm so I called again. I received a voicemail message stating that for “unforeseen circumstances” the shop would be closing at 1:00 that day. At 12:45 I arrived at the shop to find that it had closed before 1:00 and I could see my dress hanging in the window, no alterations had been done. I left another voicemail stating that I was there and they had closed before they said they would.
Thursday morning at 11:00 I immediately started calling, frantic at this point. Charlene answered the phone and told me she had taken my dress to the seamstress late the night before. She wasn’t sure if it would be ready by my 4:30 appointment, but she would call and check. No call back of course. At 1:45 I still hadn’t heard anything so I called again and received their normal voicemail. At 2:00 I called and got a voicemail stating that the shop would be closed most of the afternoon and she would try to return by 4:30 for anyone who needed to pick up anything. I arrived at 4:30 and Charlene told me that the cups still hadn’t been sewn into my dress. I told her not to worry about it; I wanted to try on my dress. I COULDN’T EVEN ZIP IT. They had taken it in so much; it was about 1.5 inches away from zipping. All of the hems were still messed up and the bottom of my dress was entirely different lengths. She then started to tell me how I must be a “problem” in the wedding b/c no one ever has issues with their dresses and/or alterations.
I had to take my dress to another shop to have it completely remade. Im not kidding, I sat and watched the seamstress completely rip out every hem in the top of my dress for 2 hours. I will be lucky if I have something to wear, the wedding is this Saturday! (Thanks to The Wedding Shoppe in Troy, MO I will actually have something to wear … I highly recommend that shop).
I am not the only person in this wedding party that has had issues. One bridesmaid’s dress was ordered 4 sizes too big and another bridesmaid has made several attempts to pick hers up and has been unsuccessful. The shop is closed on Mondays and only opens 11-5 during the week. The shop even decided to close on Saturday without notifying anyone with an appointment; they just hung a note in the window.
Charlene was very rude to me and refused to return any phone calls, she is constantly making excuses for everything that she does. They are very un-organized and can’t even find your paperwork when you come in with questions. The floors are very dirty and stuff is shoved in every corner possible. If you do order your dress at this shop … DO NOT HAVE YOUR ALTERATIONS DONE. I still havent been told who does their alterations, because I would like them to know all of the troubles they have caused me as well. DO NOT LET THIS SHOP RUIN YOUR WEDDING EXPERIENCE!!!!! I could go on and on about my horrible experiences there, how is a place like this allowed to be in business???
No dress 1 week before wedding – ONE WEEK before the wedding, they told my bridesmaid her dress was not coming. Apparently they did not place the order on time, because she ordered it 18 weeks in advance and they said it took 14 weeks max. For the past month they avoided phone calls until she finally went, in person, and they admitted it wasn't coming. ONE WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING!!!!!!!! The owner comes off as very nice when you meet her, but knowing how things really work there now, we'd never go back.
THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!! – I am so upset over every little thing at this place that I will keep it short. They have done nothing but cause me stress and then when something goes wrong they turn it around and blame the customer!! I have never dealt with anyone like Charlene (AKA: the devil) and her business deserves to be shut down. I know some people who work at the local news station and we are working on getting something on air regarding her store. What she does is COMPLETE FRAUD and I do not want anyone else to have to go through what I did! She is a joke.....
Please if anyone else wants to get involved in this do NOT hesitate to e-mail me and let me know of your horror story. jmw410@gmail
Just Say NO!!! – They don't even deserve a one-star rating. I wish I had done more research before taking my bridal party into this store. We only drove all the way out there because my girls wanted a dress that was $235 at stores, but we found for $155 online, and they advertised that they did price-matching.
We first entered the store in October 2008. My wedding was June 20, 2009. We placed our order for the bridesmaid dresses in November and were told they'd be in by March (plenty of time...right?---wrong!).
After many phone calls in March, April, and May...the dresses finally came in town the last week in May (less than a month before the wedding). At the time, though, it didn't seem like that big of a problem, as all my girls were able to go in for their fittings, and there were still 3 weeks to get the alterations finished...or so we thought.
Long story short.... a week before the wedding, they had only altered one of the six dresses, and not only did the work look like a 5-year-old had done it, but one of the seams actually burst open right there in the store. After many more phone calls and many rude conversations with staff members, we were promised that the dresses would be finished.
Obviously they weren't...and some of them were actually taken out of town and weren't back until 2 days before the wedding, and STILL weren't altered. I am just in utter shock and disbelief at the way these people run their business.
Luckily, one of my friend's moms is a masterful seamstress, and she and a friend spent the entire 2 days before the wedding fixing the mistakes and completing the alterations.
DO NOT go to this store unless you want to go through crazy amounts of stress right before your big day.
Go SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! – My niece found her wedding & bridesmaids dresses here... my 2 daughters are both in the wedding. We have seen nothing but lies and the most unprofessional group of people in my life. I am a professional person - in business for over 20 years - and have never seen this type of treatment - ever. Lies, LIes, Lies. We got a flowergirl dress that was supposed to be new... but had been altered already; got the WRONG bridesmaid dresses - wrong color and style - and when she told them they were wrong they told her to "Lighten Up - the Wrong Dresses wouldn't ruin the wedding!! " Ha... what a joke. Of course they didn't come in until a few weeks prior to the wedding - three months late - so nothing could be done. She got the wrong color veil... too late to fix. So - they ended up buying most things twice - Maiden Voyage was very helpful, also Alter Fashions - they fixed a ton of mistakes. BRIDES - STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT YOUR PERFECT WEDDING!!!! Lies and deceit are what this shop is about.
