I had a good experience here. My computer was fixed and back to me in only two days. I had the FBI virus which disabled everyting.
Horrible company. Brought computer in because it would not boot. Dimensions staff were specifically told to 1) call me before they did anything and 2) do NOT wipe the computer and reinstall. I did not hear anything from them until they called and said the computer was ready. Dimension had wiped the computer and reinstalled. Also, they completely wiped ALL data from the main profile. Data that I have had for over twenty years. The data from all the other users profiles was able to be transfered. After contacting the store to see if they still had a backup of my other profile, I found out they replaced the hard drive. The technician said that my hard drive had bad sectors and they transfered what they could. So my old hard drive is gone and I definitely have no way to recover any of my data. If you use this company, you do so at your own risk. And yes, I understand that I could have prevented this with a back up. However, I have had computers for over 20 years and have never been unable to retrieve my data.
Good to do business with good people. – I was very pleased to have my notebook worked on by these nice people. I felt comfortable leaving my machine with this company. They seemed to understand my problem completely. They had a checklist form of questions to ask me to make sure they backup everything i needed. They did exactly what they said they would, and i had my machine back the next day. Best Buy told me it would cost $200 just to leave it with them. I am glad i looked around and found these guys. Thank You!!!!!! I told them i would be happy to write a good review and so here it is.
Not a Happy Camper – I'm not one to complain, but I felt my experience should be shared with others. My laptop needed repair, so I brought it in on a Friday afternoon and was told that someone would take a look at it on Monday and get back in touch with me. I paid $75 just to have them look at it and asked to please call first with an estimate before doing any repairs. It was Wednesday and I still had not heard back...left numerous messages over the next few days and finally had a return call on Friday (one week after I dropped off the laptop). I was told that a part needed to be replaced and that they ordered the part. Then the next message was that they made a mistake and it wasn't that part at all but something totally different and they ordered the wrong part...but it should be in the next day and someone would call me when it was completed. No repair estimates per my original request. It was ready the next day (only positive mention) and I had to pay an additional $140. I was told that Windows XP had to be reinstalled and that it was normally $160 to reinstall, but they didn't charge me. I'm glad because at that point I could have bought a new laptop. I bring the laptop home, plug it in...and IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM STILL AS BEFORE plus now the fan won't stop running. Seems like they added problems instead of fixing them. I called to let them know and was told I could bring it back in...I was reassured that I would not have to pay anything additional for them to look at it again. Brought it back in, only for them to finally determine that they could not fix it after all that....AND they wanted to charge me now for the Windows XP reinstallation. I am all about delivering exceptional customer service in my field...and when terrible service is received...others should know about it. Look around first before bringing your equipment here.
Friendly people, good advice. – I am very happy with my experience with this company. I had my notebook with a bad spill of coffee fixed in two days. Unfortunately, i needed a new motherboard put in, but they found me a used one for only $80 plus $75 for labor. I thought that was a pretty fair price since Best Buy told be about $400 to fix it. I can not be more pleased. I would highly recommend these guys..
friendly but not sure if I'd use again – The really friendly staff were quick to help me and willing to answer questions. I just felt they were rushed to declare a solution before fully investigating, which put me out of pocket to only be told later the fix needed wasn't worth it.
Best Notebook Service in Saint Louis – I will be taking all of my computers in to this place. I tried some other outfits in town which where very disappointing, but these guys really delivered and went the extra mile. I appreciate it a lot. _randy
