Great Hotel BUT... – It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Amazing Place to Stay – My boyfriend and I stayed here on a recent visit to New Orleans. I was a bit unsure about it since I usually stay at the International House, but since they were booked, we gave Le Pavillon a try...Now, I don't think we will stay anywhere else when we visit! The hotel is 'old elegance' but not at all stuffy! There were weddings booked the entire weekend we stayed, but the staff did not seem strained or hurried. In fact, Mark, the Concierge, was more than willing to talk with us and make suggestions. The Doorman, Michael was awesome! Very efficient, outgoing and polite - he was one of the people that helped make our stay so wonderful! The rooftop pool was great and the rooms were more than comfortable. We will be staying here on our next visit, for sure!

Affordable Luxury in New Orleans – We spent 5 days - 4 nights at this hotel in June 2008. The staff was fantastic. We got to the hotel early but they let us check in early. We did not like our first room because it was near the roof-top swimming pool and we could small the chlorine so they quickly moved us to a beautiful room on the 4th floor.

The service was fantastic. The consier was very helpful, pointing things out on maps, letting us know about local events and booking on us on a great swamp tour. The pool and hot tub on the roof deck served as a great refuge during the hot, humid evenings. They also serve complementary peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hot chocolate at 10pm (what a sweet touch).

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter but we liked being away from the hustle and bustle. However if you are not a walker (and it can get really hot here) this might not be appealing. Especially since there are very a few places to grab lunch or breakfast around here and nowhere to eat dinner.

Regal ambience in the Central Business District. – The Scene
This hotel stands out with its opulent formality. A doorman wearing a top hat and white gloves greets guests as they step into the entry portico adorned with tall columns. The high-ceilinged lobby of the narrow building comes complete with a pianist. Far from being stuffy, though, the hotel has a sense of humor about its own excess. Every night guests help themselves to a spread of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches set on silver trays and chocolate milk cooling in champagne buckets.

The Details
The property dates back to 1907 when it opened as the DeSoto Hotel. Many of the guest rooms are draped in finery, some with antique-style appointments and 19th-century-style paintings. Some are quite small. Among the contemporary amenities is modem access. There is a rooftop pool with beautiful views. Elegant meetings spaces include the clubby Poydras Board Room for small executive gatherings. Room service is available round the clock.

Expecting Better – Parking is $28 to valet and $25 public parking next to hotel. Checked in with a flood of people and although our luggage was taken to the front desk, bellman disappeared and we had to take our luggage up to our room. The room was small but nicely decorated. no coffee maker in the room, water went from extremely hot to cold. Second floor room was loud from the traffic below. Returned to our room unable to get in. Problem was a low battery on the card reader to the room.

Complaint was that anytime you went to the front desk you had to wait in a line as there was only one front desk agent working at any given time. The entire staff was friendly despite the challenges and the hotel was quite lovely in furnishings.

This hotel had good location. Hotel offers free high speed internet

WOW! – I got an online deal (last minute) to stay at Le Pavillon during mid July. I must say I was amazed. What a great value! I paid the same thing I have been paying to stay at staple hotels like the Marriot, but what a difference Le Pavillon was.

They really seem to go an extra mile. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but they were available at a moments notice.

It is a bit further from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon, but that's why I liked it. If you stay plan on taking a cab. You can get anywhere you need to go...Uptown or the Quarter within 5 blocks, but it's a tough 5 blocks.

Great Hotel! Also be in the lobby at 10pm for Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwhiches.

Beautiful – The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! If you can get a good rate, it makes the 5 block walk to the French Quarter pretty bearable. I will warn you, however, that valet parking is $25 per night. This seems a little expensive even by New Orleans standards. The staff is friendly, although requests for King beds and non-smoking rooms are not always granted. Overall, a good hotel. The PB&J in the lobby is a nice touch.

luxury hotel – this is a great hotel. the staff is very friendly, and they make every attempt to cater to you! the hotel serves peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches at the lobby at nite, which is a cute touch! the showers are made from real marble, and the hotel contains a nice roof top hotel. Room service is 24/7!! THe only negative thing i would add is the shampoo that comes with the room is awful! Bring your own!
