I love to eat here. They have the best service and hospitality. Ms. Hattie does a great job at giving you the best bang for your buck. My fave is Wednesday's. The salmon croquette's are to die for. I also love the smothered pork chop. Its very tender and moist. I totally recommend that you stop by and give them a try.

Best turnip greens in this city. Not to mention... this is the ONLY spot you will have the pleasure of speaking to Miss Hattie. I eat here often, and will continue to do so. 5 stars, highly recommended!

just like home – Miss Hattie's is a nice place to spend time enjoying tasty food and talking to the friendly staff and other customers. I have been eating there at least once or twice a week for several years and just love the food. The fresh cooked turnip greens are awesome, the best I've found. Potato salad, fried apples, cornbread muffins, pinto and white beans always hit the spot!

good service and good food – I have been dining at H & T's quite a while and enjoy the food and friendly staff.

I have tried most everything on the menu and especially enjoy the meatloaf and the chicken and dressing. I really like the white beans and the turnip greens are delicious.

Keep up the good work, Miss Hattie!

Disappointed – I really hate to post anything negative about anyone.......so I will just state the way the food tasted to me........

I had the Meat & 3......Fried Catfish - the cornmeal was crumbly and stuck to my fingers (almost like its too much)

GreenBeans- no flavor just there. MacNCheese - reminded me of box style that is old and cheese is not cheesy.Spaghetti-very wattery and noodles very thick. - it smelled and looked so unappealing, I did not even taste it.

I was very very disappointed and let down.......I drive by and see the guy waving so I thought it would be tasty......The worse part is, I am pregnant and craving spaghetti and had to be let down. When a craving is not met its the PITS!!!! Sorry H&T's I cannot give you a thumbs up..=(

Excellent, Friendly Staff! – Okay so usually I write a review because something has made me angry, however, this place really impressed me., The food is very good...I would not compare it to Cracker Barrel, but it is very good. THE STAFF IS AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY! These days it is hard for anyone to smile let alone go out of their way to speak kindly. Every person in this place seems so very kind. The Country Fried Steak is awesome. The mac & cheese is a bit dry, I put that as a con because that is the only neg. thing I could think of. Maddie (i think the owner??) will jump right in if the waitress gets busy and does not seem to mind. If you have read any other of my reviews you will see that customer service is very important to me and let me tell you this place has some very good customer service! To me $6-8 for a meal is not bad at all. I like the setting too...not too fancy, but very clean. Never slammed so you actually get peace and quiet. Anyway you should try this place if you get a chance. Good honest people...a nice change!

just plain awful – i dont know what these other reviewers ate at H & T's but we went there last night and i have never tasted anything so AWFUL. I have never wrote a review about anyting before but i felt compelled by the taste of my plate last night to share this. The food was so bland and the greens..lets face it..were canned Glory greens. I have been to many meat and three's and this by far was the worst experience i have ever had. Sure the service was nice but that doesnt make up for paying 8 bucks for ONE plate of AWFUL food. EVERYTHING tasted like it came straight from a can. The gravy, the greens, the macncheese was just..watery even the roast beef tasted like it came from a can!! Wow.....i should have known by the fact that hardly no customers was there that the place was going to be a no-go. Never again will i waste my money at this place..we all ended up just throwing away the plate after four bites. Couldnt stomach anymore. If you are looking for good HOME cooked, southern food..this is NOT the place for you. NO it does NOT taste anything like mamas or grandmamas food..be warned.

Excellent Home Cooking – If you enjoy southern cooking I highly recommend you try H & T?s. The food was excellent, just like eating at my Grandmothers kitchen table. The service was fast and friendly. Unlike most meat and threes they seem to plop it on your plate down the cafeteria line where as when you enter H & T?s they have a nice decor with white table cloths and service you from the table. The best part is it is family owned so they care how your food is prepared and served. It is also reasonably priced.

Best Turnip Greens in town or anywhere else. – Haven't been to a Cracker Barrel since I discovered Hattie's place. I know it's a cliche' but H&T's is literally as good as my Grand Ma used to make. Love the Meat Loaf, Country Fried Steak, Chicken and Dumplings... and the Turnip Greens are made from fresh... by the bushel. I travel a lot for work and I stop on the way home from the airport for a Turnip Green fix. Best meat and three in town.

Cracker barrel? I think not. – I'm not sure why there are so many comparisons to cracker barrel-uh these two places are NOT compariable. They are on totally different levels. This place is kind of a dive and yes a little over priced. The food did taste good though and the staff was friendly. I would only eat here if i worked near-might be a nice change for lunch now and again.
