HORRIBLE!!!!! Will Never Return & Not Recommended – HORRIBLE!!! Will never return and Will tell all my friends about this place.
Some of the servers were very rude. I heard the "F" word more that day by servers then ever before.
They charge for soda/tea refills, not that it mattered too much, other then cost, as they never returned to the table with the drinks, but we were charged for them anyway!
They also auto charged a 18% gautuity for 3 adults and 1 child! They did not inform us of this.
And on the Food, NASTY!!!! The fried aligator was so tough, that we couldn't even get our teeth into a piece and taste was so bad, no seasoning. Although the waiter was very nice when we did see her, but she didn't come very often to the table.
Food = Gross; Service = Sucked; Cost = Too High!!!
chargrilled oysters are sensational – We were visiting New Orleans from Australia for a few weeks, and tripped over the French Market Restaurant & Bar. We had the Crawfish Boil and char broiled oysters, and just kept going back each day for more oysters.
The staff were unbelievably friendly, and we made friends with a few of them because of that.
Their shrimp were local and fresh, the crawfish so tasty and more-ish, and the oysters.... best we had in New Orleans, including Acme and a few others.
We will recommend this place until the cows come home, and have already told half of Australia.
The upstairs balcony is also a great place to sit with a dozen oysters and a beer, and watch the world go by. We'll be back!!
Tourist stop, don't bother. Nothing original, horrible service. – If you eat here, you have a serious case of the tourism virus. Tourism Virus: A condition in which an individual becomes so caught up in seeing the sights they can't even recognize a generic local restaurant.
This place screams generic. I was dragged here by three friends and I didn't even bother ordering. I tasted their food, and I had a coffee, one coffee, because the server was so bad she never bothered to get me a refill. The restrooms are hideous, smelly, and un-air conditioned, the servers all look like they'd rather be doing anything but serving guests, and I think our server had a smell about her that wasn't quite Chanel #5. They advertise 'genuine' N.O. food, but it's just more fried frozen seafood touted as fresh, lousy roast beef, and cold french fries. They, like every other public place larger than 10 square feet in N.O., have a full bar, and you just might want to take advantage of it if you make the mistake of eating here; a drink might just take the sting off the sinking feeling you get when you finish eating and think "I've just been had." Coffee was weak and lukewarm. Ambiance is dirty and dingy. Prices are utterly ridiculous. $16.00 for one fried catfish fillet with fries. Don't waste your time. Go across the city to Russells Marina Grill, I've reviewed that too.
