Nashville's Most Chaotic Unfriendly Nail Salon – I have been going to Venetian Nail Spa since they opened but today I went to Signature Nail Spa less than a minute away to see if they were any better. I will NEVER go back to Venetian again! EVER. PERIOD.
You never get the same service or level of competency there. One day you might get great looking nails and another day you could wind up with THICK pink and whites that are lumpy and crooked, which is what Signature fixed for me today.
Venetian is ALWAYS IN A HURRY and they practically stand over you while you pick your polish out & rush you if you're not picking it out fast enough. The staff is rude and the whole "feel" of the place is NOT desirable. They rush you in, do a crappy job on your nails and get you out as fast as possible. And don't even waste your time telling the snotty Asian lady with glasses that owns the place.
It's always your fault and there is NEVER anything wrong on their part. If you get a french mani and specifically tell them you want *such and such* pink to be used, they are too lazy to get up and go get it so they try to convince you that the one already at their station "look much bettah fow you". I have had my hand literally swatted hard for not having my hand relaxed enough for the guy- it was as limp as I could make it without being dead!
They will leave you sitting at a chair for 10 minutes before anyone comes over, then someone comes over and has to leave so they bring yet another person over to take over. The list goes on and on. They were nice at first but they have gotten very big for their britches lately and I will not be back. Signature was calm, relatively quiet, and they had a separate room for waxing, while Venetian just does it out in the open in front of everyone.....TACKY! The guy Tony at Signature did a FABULOUS job on my nails today- he asked what I wanted and asked questions until he was sure what I was asking for. He took his time but it certainly did not take a long time. He was nice and gentle. Another complaint about Venetian- they will use the electric filer for such a prolonged time on your nail that it gets so hot and hurts SO bad. If you say ouch they look at you mean like you're an idiot. VENETIAN SUCKS.
Horrible! – I've been a costumer at Venetian since they opened. They began to go downhill and I got frustrated with their quality so I started going to Signature Nails (which i love!). I decided to give Venetian another shot because my favorite polish is there.
I was sent to a nail specialist to get acrylics and he did awful! He was moving so fast, everything became very poorly done. When I saw my nails were slanted (i'm not sure HOW he could miss it) he corrected me! i was in shock. Shouldn't the costumer always be right? Then when he painted my nails, he took about 5 seconds and they looked like a 4 year old had painted them! Of all things to mess up on... the nail polish?
I will never be a "victim" of Venetian again!!
Awful experience – I thought I would go to this place since it was in Green Hills. Was I ever mistaken! The girl that did my nails messed up twice and was extremely irritated when she had to fix them implying that it was my fault! She was in such a hurry to get to her next client she didn't want to deal with me anymore. She was very, very rude. I usually don't complain but when I mentioned it to the manager, she was also rude. I'll never, ever spend my money here again and I will tell my friends not to go!
Always good service – I get manicure/pedicures about twice a month and always go to Venetian. They are always accommodating, no matter what the request. The manicures last for a very long time and the service is always friendly and professional.
I don't bother going anywhere else because I would just be disappointed.
awful. never ever go here! – I am someone who gets my nails done alot, and this is by far the WORST most HORRIBLE place to go!
I went in to get my gel nails taken off and i repeadly told them that i did not want a manicure just my nails taken off so I sat down in the chair for 10 min before anyone even came over. The place was PACKED. Finally someone can over and put some of the acetone in bowl and told me to soak my hands in it. Another 15 mins later and after I had to stop someone and ask them if they could send someone over, they did. The guy literally sat down, said nothing to me, and just got the drill out.
Here is the best part, the drill slung the wet gel into my eye, because the guy was still holding my hand, i instantly reacted my jerking my other hand out of the bowl of acid and started rubbing my eye, which at this point was burning insanly. The guy literally looked at me an said oh, it happens to me all the time. I was never offered to have my eye washed out or anything. I looked like i was crying and then the guy looks at me again and goes, there is nothing in your eye anymore.
Then I wanted to get a color change on my toes and again, the guy basically was like wash your hands then just come find me. He actually finished painting my nails in the chair with my hands on my knees. He asked me to pay, and I said sir, how much is this? Ive never been here before, could I see the price list to make sure (I didnt want to get charged for something i didnt ask for, but of course, I did) he just said 37 and walked off.
when I went to ask for the manager the lady up front just looked and me and said yes. I asked her if she was the manager and she said yes, though i HIGHLY doubt she was. I started talking to her and in the middle of me politely complaing she started talking to another employee!!!! this really made me mad. So as i waited for her to finish, and she did, everything I told them they kept making excuses for, I ended up being charged for a manicure that I specifically said no to, and it was my fault because I did not stop him, (i had never been there before so I didnt know what there normal procedure was) The "manager" kept acting like she didnt know english. It was awful, and i told them I would never be back again, and they were okay with that...so...they shouldnt even get a star
TERRIBLE NAIL SALON!! – I recently went to Venetian Nails and Spa in Green Hills and was extremely disappointed and will never return. I am also advising others that you will pay more than most salons for POOR service.
My boyfriend had looked up the salon online and since it was "his treat" I decided to try the Venetian. We went in to make an appointment because the salon looked very busy. We were going to walk around the mall before I got my nails done... however, they were SO pushy when we walked in and hurrying me along with deciding what I wanted done, that I just decided to get my nails done first (big mistake!) On my way back to the chair - a lady had an awful look on her face of pain while getting a pedi. The lady rushed me into a chair and quickly got to work. She did not start the massage on the chair and after messing with it for a few minutes, I realized that the lower back massage was broken and the massager was annoyingly massaging my shoulder blades. She then handed me a menu of services and kept trying to sell me a more expensive option than what I wanted. Finally I just said "Listen, I just want a BASIC pedicure. Thanks." She attempted to have a conversation with me (although I just wanted to relax) and I could not understand her accent very well.
Towards the end of the pedicure the gal next to me wanted flowers accented on her toes and it turned into a huge scene with FIVE people at one point standing around trying to simply paint some flowers on this poor girl!! She was very frustrated at the fact that she drew a picture of what she wanted and the colors she preferred and they still insisted that they wanted to make the flowers black and white instead. The staff also were obvious in rolling there eyes and chuckling under their breath.
As my pedicure was coming to an end, the lady (Meria?) just stood up and said "OK I am done". With a tone of "Get out of here, we have more people to push through!" I continued to ask if I could have some detail on my big toes. She took out some white paint and painted the LARGEST flower I have ever seen on my toes. So big that it covered all of the polish on my toes!! I could only sit and stare with my mouth wide open!! I finally asked her to just take it off - that it was not my style and my boyfriend would absolutely hate it. She tried to tell me that "it looked attractive and he would love it, and it needs to be big so others can see it". I was shocked at how well she thought she knew me and my boyfriend, after only knowing us a few minutes!! lol. She then got real rude and said "once I take it off and repolish, I will NOT paint anymore." I said that was fine and sat there as she quickly repainted my toes and rushed me to the dryer before it was even dry. The Venetian only had one dryer station open that seats 4 - so luckily someone was getting up as I walked over, otherwise I would have had to wait. The dryers did not work very well - I sat for almost 30 minutes and the paint was still oily and wet. The paint job was terrible with paint around the nail, two of my nails were smeared, and one nail has already chipped (hasn't even been 48 hours!).
I will never return to the Venetian Nails and Spa - nor would I suggest that others do. They are only interesting in getting people in and out - taking the most money they can sucker you into paying!!
Worst nail spa – I had went to Venetian on a recommendation from a client of mine. Needless to say I got a way different treatment than what she had told me she had. There was no wait but all of the people were extremely snappy and acted like they were in some kind of a race to see who could do a set of nails the fastest. It was DEFIANTLY like a meat market. I asked to get a fill in with pink and whites, she filed all of the white part off and asked me if i wanted to pay extra to have the tip painted back on. I told her no, that i just wanted regular polish now. so she said okay and walked away. she came back, put on a base coat and then told me,"thanks, goodbye" and walked away. At this point I was so disgusted that I just left and went somewhere else to have them reshape what i was left with and actually polish my nails. I couldn't believe this kind of treatment in a nice green hills nail salon. I will never go back
I tried twice BUT – I have been visiting Ellen (not real name) for 6 years when she closed shop and moved to this salon. She is among the best. Venetian Salon is one big rat pack! It looks like an assembly line meat market! Just because it is in Green Hills is not recourse to rip people off. When you call, you get hung up on. Wrong people on front desk. Unless you have an operator that knows you and you them, keep right on driving. Sooner or later this place will close for want of customers....A bad experience TWICE.....
Really Bad Experence – I'm a guy that came into the Venetian in Green Hills to get my eye brows cleaned up. I told the girl I wanted to get it cleaned up and I didn't want to look like a girl. First thing is. I thought it was really weird that they didn't have a table for them to wax on. She brought me in the middle of the store. Told me to sit down around all these woman getting there nails done. And ripped my eye brows away. No man alive, gay or straight would want there brows to look like this. There is nothing that they can do to fix it. I have called up there twice and they are rude and try to make the customer look like they are crazy. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT ARE CRAZY!!!!!!
They told me my next service is free. Hell it will be months before I can gain my hair back. I don't even rate them a star. I'm trying to get my money back and it is like pulling teeth. Stay away from these people.
Always happy with the service and the end result – A friend and I had pedicures this afternoon. We had great service, friendly people and a clean, pleasant atmosphere. This is probably the 5-6th time I've used Venetian and i will continue to.
