Avoid this company!!! The are not only incompetent but nasty, arguing with me about what had transpired in a series of visits. They never resolved the problem.
best in the state! – this company is the best there is....i'm a 35 year master plumber not licensed in louisiana. i use accardo@ lambert for all my permitting, inspections, water and gas meter emergencies, and refer them to all my customers. all my clients are satisfied....need a real plumber, call accardo@lambert, trust me....
Don't use Accardo & Lambert, they take your money and run!! – I contracted their service over the phone while out of town. I made payment to them over the phone and asked for a receipt when the work was completed. I was told they (A &L) would write out a receipt for me and detail a description of what the problem was and what they did to correct it. After more than 1 month and several phone calls to different guys, I never got a receipt. Each time I asked for the receipt, I was given an excuse as to why it hadn't been sent. I was given the run around as to who to ask for to get it. My last encounter for a request was 4/22/11. I was given yet another person to to talk to about it, this time it was Artie. By now I'm pretty upset and told the guy on the phone I would report them. His comment was "do what you gotta do lady."He was rude and argumentative. I paid these guys in good faith, but I'll never pay anyone again without having them send me a receipt first! This is a such a small thing that I'm asking for and If I didn't need a written statement of what was done I would have let it go. However since the guy on the phone got nasty and indignant with me and challenged me to report them, here it is!
DO NOT USE THEM – They charged for work that was not done. Would not provide legible receipts for work done. Left plumbing leaks and toilet running (in vacant house, which was not discovered until we received a huge water bill), etc. Charged $250 for video allegedly taken of sewer line; provided a $10,000 estimate stating we needed a new sewer line. They would not provide the video. Later, someone else replaced/repaired just the overflow drain (not sure if terminology is correct); however, we have had no problems since.
We purchased a gas water heater from them, which they installed but did not light (understandable because house was vacant). They did not provide a receipt, manual, or warranty for it. Told me to call them if we had any problems. When called about obtaining a legible receipt, manual, and warranty papers for the water heater, getting the plumbing leaks repaired, obtaining the video of sewer line (which I wanted another plumber to review), etc., they were argumentative and nonresponsive to the issues.
We've had problems with the water heater, which is apparently a reputable brand, from the time we moved back into our house and first used it. We refuse to call Accardo & Lambert back—even at the cost of replacing it. That is what brought us to this site: to try to find a reputable plumber to repair or replace that water heater.
Also, like nicboo, there was one technician on the job site who hung around chatting, sitting in the truck, and calling the office with all questions. The initial charge was $2,050 for the water heater and installation, checking gas lines and bringing up to code as needed (they put new caps on each pipe), and the video of the sewer. We paid them an additional $485.00 for checking and repairing the plumbing leaks. I must add that this is a small shotgun cottage, 1100 SF, with one bathroom. There was a leak under the kitchen sink, one under the bathroom sink, and the toilet. Perhaps they checked for leaks, but they definitely did not repair them. I was laid up with broken bones and unable to be there; however, I would have sent them packing long before they allegedly "finished" the job.
Also, I must question antonio0001’s relationship with Accardo & Lambert, as he neither described a single experience of doing business with them, nor did he provide any sort of foundation for his rating and opinion that they are the best plumbers in New Orleans. How dare he refer to another poster’s “IGNORANCE” and question their veracity because he disagrees with their review!
Best Plumbing Company In New Orleans Despite "nicboo" Ignorance – I have "NO" idea who "nicboo" is but he is sadly mistaken if he thinks that Accardo and Lambert Plumbing and Heating Inc. has any unqualified people that would have done any of this garbage that this previous review states. This previous review sound like someone has a personal issue with himself and seems to want to take it out on Accardo and Lambert Plumbing and Heating Inc. How sad is it that just anyone can write anything that they want weather its true or not.......
Accardo and Lambert – Accordo and Lambert took seven days to send someone to my home. They never called me back to follow up with an actualservice date, I always had to call their office. When a service tech came to my home it was the son of the technician who was actually sent and he could not diagnoise the problem or identify the product without calling his father on the phone. The father even had the nerve to argue with me on nthe phone and tell me that I had the wrong company and that Accardo and Lambert would never use such a product as the one needing repair. It was later confirmed by their office that immediately after the storm they purchased products where they could find them.
Once the techinician stopped arguing he stated that he would come out to my house that night. keep in mind I had called them seven days prior. Three days later the technician arrives at my home, late. He sits in his truck drinks coffee and smokes. He then decides to look at my issue and tell me he's going to get started. After thirty five minutes he calls my cell phoner to tell my bill is 120.00 dollars, $40 service fee, and $40.00 per half our. He is in his truck and has left the job. He then tells me to deal with the cost everybodies charging for everything these days and I must just accept it. After i complain to the in house manager he reduces my fee to 80.00 and tells me that the tech has been talked to by the boss. When I go to their office to pay I am once agin charged 120.00 and told that the tech had been at my home according to their GPS system for 35 minutes. They also apologize for his behavior.
Should i count the number of minutes that Accardo and lamberts men stayed in the car and smoked cigarretts, or drank their coffee? What about when they smoked on the side of my house. I am very disappointed and very angry. I feel used. They have lost a client over 5 minutes and forty dollars worth of respect.
