Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, and most of all, Horrible... – To be honset, I'm having a hard time writing this review becuase I just don't know where to start.
My wife and I were recently married, and we chose, at the request of a friend, Floral Expressions by Ron. Worst. Advice. Ever.
To put it simply, the flowers weren't completed by the wedding day (WE had to improvise), some floral arrangements were missing (WE had to run to a nearby grocery store and find something similar), Ron never returned phone calls, and when he did, he was extremely short and rude.
We confronted Ron after the wedding about our displeasure, and he shouted obscenities at my mother in law, telling her it was our fault the flowers weren't done and our fault they forgot to include some. He also told he he didn't care anymore because our event was over. After constant nagging on our part, he agreed to reimburse us a portion of the cost and would send us a check.
After several weeks, we never saw the money. That is until my in-laws went to his store. Ron became so flustered, he threw the money he owed us at my in-laws -- literally threw it.
So, in summary, if you're looking for a bad florist, with bad manners and one who blames everything on the customer and swears at them, Floral Expressions by Ron is right for you.
Seriously, go somewhere else. There are multiple good florists in the Northshore Milwaukee area. Pass right on by this place.
Oh, and for the record, I'm disappointed that zero stars isn't an option.
All around disappointed – After reading these reviews I have to say that poor business practices seem to be a regular way of doing business at this floral shop. And unfortunately, my husband and I experienced the same disappointment on our wedding day when we hired Floral Expressions by Ron.
I never thought I would get a "bad vendor" or be one of the "nightmare wedding" story tellers, but that is exactly what has happened.
We were completely dissatisfied - from the wrong colored flowers, to Ron not returning MANY phone calls, to being denied any reimbursement from Ron, and to endless excuses by Ron and his staff. We were mortified when we walked into the hall for the first time, it was NOT what we had talked to Ron about, the flowers were overgrown and clearly arranged many days before our wedding. The flowers were wilted, many were the wrong color (purple instead of pink, yellow instead of white). And the most upsetting part was that they do not accept credit for wrongdoing or fix what is wrong, or even communicate well with clients when something is wrong.
When you have a customer spending thousands of dollars on wedding arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, etc. you need to deliver what you promise, and unfortunately my husband, my family, friends, and I had these expectations that proved to be to high for Floral Expressions.
I would not work with Ron or his shop for anything in the future and highly suggest that if you want to work with him, have a meeting with HIM (not his staff) and make sure that you are comfortable with him. Also, ask a lot of questions and don't let him persuade you, go with you gut and make sure you get what you ask for! Because unfortunately we did not get what we asked for and we will never get that day back!
Poor customer service! – Despite phone and email messages one and two days after our daughter's wedding on 10/17/09, the owner or a representative has yet to contact me.
We have no quarrel with creativity. However, upon arrival to our venue, we were shocked and embarrassed to see wilted centerpieces; flowers and greens bending toward the table. We took pictures at the reception as proof, but as stated earlier, the owner has not attempted to contact us.
customer service and owner a disappointment – I purchased a gift there a month and a half ago and paid for shipping to have it sent to my mother. Ron was late sending the present by two weeks. When the gift arrived, it was broken secondary to poor packing. Not only does the owner not call back with left messages, he has yet to refund my money for the broken gift. It has been a month and a half and I still do not have a refund, and the owner still acts resistant to giving me my refund because he does not believe the gift arrived broken. This has been the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I am busy working with the better business bureau to get my problem corrected. I hope to save another customer from the same frustration and hassle I have been going through just because I wanted to buy my mother a nice gift.
One of the best florists I've worked with as an event planner – As an event coordinator and wedding planner in Southeastern Wisconsin, Floral Expressions by Ron is one of the best florists I've had the pleasure to work with on a professional level. Not only is he rated as one of the top florists in the world (I think that means he's the highest rated in the entire state of Wisconsin as well), but his creative pieces of art are always stunning. As a coordinator who has been in business for several years, Ron and his wife are always extremely kind and approachable with my brides and other customers I've seen return to them throughout the 20-some years they've been in business. (I am sorry the bride who previously posted had such a bad experience with the sales staff!! I know that the sales staff NEVER works directly with brides to discuss their budgets, designs, etc, and is pretty much never at the weddings either, at least in my experience) I've always had visions in my head as a planner on what to expect from florists, and Ron always has surpassed my expectations. I highly recommend this family owned and operated business.
Looking for florist for wedding – I went to floral expressions by Ron based on several recommendations by friends and family of the gorgeous work that he does. I am getting married in October 2008 and went to his business in December 2007 to get a taste for his work and then was planning my making a decision shortly after that.
Immediately when I walked in I felt like I was not the customer but the person that should be impressing them. I did not see or talk to Ron but to a women who worked in the store. The first thing she said to me after she heard that a wedding florist is what I was looking into was, "When is your wedding?". After I told her the date she laughed and said that there is not way he is open that date. There were several times she stated that Ron books up years in advance but she would be nice enough to check his calendar anyway. After seeing that indeed he was available she rather harshly stated that I needed to make an appointment to meet with Ron immediately and would most definitely have to decide if I wanted to go with him on the spot, because people just don't say "No" to Ron.
After my mom and I pondered if A) this was actually happening and B) if we wanted to go with someone who put so much pressure on us, we felt even more pressure to make a decision immediately. We quickly decided that this was not the kind of people we wanted to work with to make my wedding day great, so we left.
