Great Shabu Shabu in the heart of Glendale – Great Shabu Shabu (which translated means 'swish swish') restaurant. Good service, pleasant atmosphere and good quality food. Only downside is that it is located in a small strip mall that is usually teaming with local highschoolers - but that's probably just my personal annoyance. I brave it for the food regularly.
Editorial Review – Practice the culinary art of shabu shabu at this themed restaurant where customers cook their own food.
Great Shabu Shabu, Great Staff, and very authentic – You wouldn't think that this Shabu place would be very authentic because of it's location in Glendale but I will have to tell you, Ben the owner came over to where we were sitting and personally thanked us for coming. He is a very nice guy, and treated us very well. They have great portions and the large is well worth the $20 dollars, the ponzu sauce is excellent. I highly recommend this spot!
Best Shabu Shabu I've ever had. Now it's my #1. – Since years ago, my favorite food was shabu shabu. I?ve been to Little Tokyo and tried every shabu shabu restaurant there was. Though recently, going there has been a bit of a problem for me. So I started to search for a new place to eat some shabu shabu. I?ve had tried most of the restaurants around my general area, and nothing compares to this place. It?s just amazing.
The portions are just right:
If you eat out a lot, like I do, then you know exactly how much will fill you up. If you?re a heavy eater like I am, a large will be perfect. If you?re a light eater, or have a regular appetite, then a regular will do you just fine. Although if you?re a light eater you might have a few vegetables left over. After your first visit, you?ll know which type of vegetables you might not like. You can ask them to take those out beforehand. And if you do, you can get some extras of another vegetable.
The meat slices are huge, and it?s lean:
All the other places that I?ve been to so far, they give you tiny pieces of meat. What this place gives you is about twice the size of the other places. I don?t mean thicker, I mean wider. The meat that they serve here is so well-trimmed, and the only fat you?ll see is the unavoidable fats within the meat itself.
The sauces, my god, the sauces:
The ponzu here, is just perfect. All the ponzu that I?ve had before, were either too sour or too sweet. The balance found here is incomparable to any other.
The Goma(Peanut), I usually avoid this sauce like the plague, but not at this place, it compliments the meat really well.
The decor and cleanliness:
Usually, when I eat out at restaurants, I?m a slob. But here, it?s so clean I don?t want to mess it up. I try to clean up after myself so it doesn?t ruin the great atmosphere here.
The modern decor is really soothing. Peaceful, and plenty of room to spare.
This has become my #1 shabu shabu restaurant, and it?s so close to my home.
Great Shabu Shabu! – Randomly found this place. A great eat and easy parking makes this place my new Shabu Shabu fav!! The staff is greatt and you're always serviced right away!
One of the most pleasant dining experiences in L.A. – My boyfriend and I have been going here since the place opened. We initially wandered in simply because it was the only nice-looking and non-chain resturaunt near the movie theater, and we were wowed! Not only is the decor sophisticated and romantic (yet not cold or overly formal), the beef is TO DIE FOR! The owner was friendly and chatted with us a bit, and he even took the time to show us how he personally likes to mix the ponzu sauce. Now we eat there 2 or 3 times a month, and it never dissapoints. If you're looking for a fun resturaunt to grab a bite before the movies, then this is the place.
LA alternative to shabu – I've been going to LA's Shabu shabu house restaurant thinking that was the closest shabue restaurant around the valley. Found this restaurant while driving around in Glendale. Comparing to LA's Shabu Shabu House, its not that bad. Everything was great, meat, sauces, service. Only thing different than the LA one was less amount of meat and only one bowl of rice.
Nonetheless, will be a new favorite.
Must try...will not be disappointed! – Looks stylish inside and out, but the food is the real story here. Great service and wonderful portions. I plan to return often.
Great Place for a Great Meal – I went to this place on the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappoint. It is nicely decorated and the staff was very courteous. I ordered the gyoza as an appetizer and I think I would have eaten a hundred of these little suckers but my server brought the ingredient for my shabu shabu. The portion are more then enough for a "healthy" eater such as myself and I thoroughly enjoyed the seasame sauce which was very light but still very flavorful. Somehow, I found room for dessert and I would highly recommend the sherbet (mango, plum, lychee).
Great Shabu Shabu! – Finally somewhere outside of Jtown that has great shabu-shabu! We chose the bar-seating over the tables--while it seemed a bit awkward at first, it was clearly the right decision! It was a fun experience AND I didn't have to share my food! ;)
Can't forget the plum sherbert we had for dessert, it was super delish!
