Named after the golden crust of its signature turnovers, this Caribbean fast-food joint has been going strong since 1989. – In Short
When Jamaican-born Lowell Hawthorne decided to open a Bronx restaurant showcasing his favorite dishes from home, he had no idea his restaurant would eventually expand across ultiple states. The menu offers affordable tastes of Jamaica, including nine varieties of the chain's turnover-like "patties" in beef, chicken and fish. Also available are combo meals offering authentic dishes, including curried goat and jerk chicken, and traditional breakfast with ackee fruit or callallo and cod.
Just like home. – This is a wonderful convenience for Jamaicans like myself. I buy dozens of patties at a time especially the cocktail size ones for parties. Call day before for large orders.
Staff is warm and friendly with gorgeous accents.
Best Food Ever – Tastes just like home mmmm! The best Jamaican food you can get outside of Jamaica, and my house of course. :)
