PIMMS cups all around!! – Picture it! You're in the middle of the french quater, its a toasty 95 degrees, the air's as thick as the mud the Mississippi flows over, and it seems as tho there isn't a breeze in the entire state of luzianna! Suddenly you see the green coppola and you know you're saved!! NAPOLEON HOUSE!!! have a seat at the bar for a pimms, or get a table and experience the joy that is the muffaletta! Enjoy a nice long refreshing sit, and take in the atmosphere! but beware if u have tourist written all over your face, the wait staff can smell you a mile away!

The Muffulata was awesome! – I really enjoyed my dining experience at The Napolean House. We had lunch there on the last day of our trip and it was a great send off. Although we had to wait 40 minutes for a table, it was well worth it. We were seated in the patio area in the back and that added to the ambience. We ordered 2 Pimm's Cups (the restaurant's signature drink) and the Muffulata for 2. The food was SO good (the Pimm's Cups were very refreshing). Although the service was average, the waiter did bring me some additional souvenirs I hadn't expected for my scrapbook. The value was very reasonable. The history made the dining experience even more exciting!

not so great – Our waiter was very cute and very good- but I saw other waiters being extremely rude to other customers. I'm guessing they don't get paid very much? The food isn't very good- my food wasn't very tasty or hot nor was my friends' food. I would go if it's warm just for the patio, but otherwise there really isn't anything very good about this place. It's not bad considering the location (everything is around it)

just okay – I think I picked this place because it had a courtyard which pumped up its romantic rating. I would say that it could have been a lot nicer, it's not that romantic. The waitstaff didn't look like they wanted to be there. That said it all. The beer choices were better than at other places, meaning they had dark beer.

Service could be better – I was a little disappointed. This was my third trip to New Orleans. I had never tried Napoleon's for some reason. We decided to stop by for some wine and appetizers. There was not a lot of choose from food wise. Mainly poboys and traditional mainstays. We selected the cheese and fruit appetizer and it was quite tastey. We probably would have stayed for dinner but our waiter was less than attentive to our table. Our glasses set empty for nearly 20 minutes before he returned to check on us. The bar is famous for the Primm Cup which we didn't get a chance to try because our waiter was so inattentive. I wouldn't recommend it for dinner but a good place to grab a drink and soak up its historic atmosphere.

Poor Service – Being a resident of the Quarter, its hard to believe that a restaurant so highly recognized would have such bad service. I went with a friend, and had to seat ourselves because the hostess couldn't be bothered. It took us 15 minutes to get a waiter's attention, and even longer before he would come over to take our order. The food arrived cold at the table, and even if warm, it would have been marginal. We ran out of drinks and couldn't even get our water glasses refilled. Then, the waiter acted as if it was an act of congress to bring our check. Needless to say, his tip was not good, and I won't be going back.

Absolute New Orleans – This is one of my very favorite places in New Orleans. We go there every trip. The addition of the courtyard a few years ago added a lot more room and although it changed the atmosphere a bit it is still an absolute visit for all visitors.

PRETTY TASTY – I am a long time Central Grocery Muffaleta fan and so I jump at chances to comparison eat. The Napoleon House makes a fine example and yet it is missing something. First off, heating the thing makes it quite oily so that is my first knock. The only other thing is the Olive topping is somewhat lacking in flavor. They use a lot of high quality meat and it is a big bonus. My ideal? Take CG's olive salad and a cold Napoleon House Muffaleta without their topping and make your own. Then you would really have something.

You have to see this place – On a tip from a clerk, my husband & I wandered into this place for lunch. It wasn't busy at all and the staff were hanging around, so we were seated immediately. Unfortunately, it was cold & rainy, so we couldn't actually see the courtyard, but it's supposed to be great. We loved the food: I had the wild mushroom foccacia sandwich & hubby had the muffaletta w/ bean soup. Definitely plan on stopping in.

Won't go back... – Wow - I would have to say this is about the worst service I've ever had and I dine out at least 3 times a week. The food wasn't great but it wasn't bad - certainly not worth the an hour and a half it took to order and receive it. A companion requested a glass of water 3 times and never received it. We had friends seated in another sections with 2 different waiters and they reported the same bad experience. One stopped a waiter to ask for bread who said "you'll have to ask your own waiter" before he walked off. That being said, the courtyard area was very lovely so this might be a good place to stop for drinks if you fetch your own drinks from the bar.
