Great food & Entertainment – This is a place that I highly recommend! I had a birthday party and it was the best experience that I could have asked for. The management and staff bent over backwards to ensure that we had a good time. We started off with their happy hour which was awesome! All drinks and food were $4!! That's right!! Then at 9:30 pm the DJ kicked up the tempo and got us dancing. We loved the light wall behind the DJ. I have been back to The Shore almost once a week, and it never disappoints my friends and I.

The most pretentious bar in the South Bay – I have been to the shore a 6 or 7 times over the last two years...Sundays to watch football, random weeknights to grab a drink, an occasional Friday or Saturday night...and I can assure you that I will never be going back.

I was never impressed by their food and didn't care for the atmosphere, but only went there to hangout with friends, that for some unknown reason, wanted to go there.

I recently tried going there on a Saturday night with a large group of friends, about 15 of us in all. When we got there nobody else was in line and we could clearly see that they were not at capacity. A line began to form and large groups of guys began to crowd the bouncer. For the 45 minutes we stood there, the bouncer could only tell us the bar was at capacity, and it will just be a few more minutes, as he let groups of guys and less than average looking girls in by the dozens. I could understand if I was standing there with 14 other guys, but the 9 girls in our group were getting tired of waiting in the cold.

Although they had advertised a $5 cover that night, we were finally told it was going to cost us $50 a person for bottle service, including the girls, if we wanted to get in. WTF???????? I told the bouncer that this is Hermosa Beach, not Hollywood, and we would take our party elsewhere.

We had a great time dancing and drinking at Blue 32 next door and the hidden gem, Chelsea Lounge around the corner and upstairs. Don't waste your time going to the shore. Trust me, I've been there plenty of times and it's nothing special.

Don't Bother – I am just going to be straight forward. Not only were the waitresses rude, but the chef was a drunken idiot. The food we ordered was the wrong order, wilted lettuce, ugly presentation, and the food was served cold.he came out and was arrogant and smelled of liquor. He said he was a top chef!! whatever that means. I was so embarrassed, because i was hosting a birthday party for my fiance. I will never go back, and i will never recommend. The place has potential, but the staff needs a "timeout" Rif Raf staff attracts rif raf people. overall experience was a total disappointment. It's a bad economy and tough time. I will be sure to spread the word to all my friends along the coast, not to bother wasting their time or energy. The Shore needs to clean up the kitchen. We left and went down the street for some good food, happy people and better ambiance.

BEST LOUNGE IN THE SOUTBAY – It seems everyone wants to go to Sharkeez nowadays, but I think that is mainly because they have a line down the street.

But the most quality crowd in the area can be found at the Shore around the corner. Its the most beautiful hip people (all ages welcome) and the food is amazing too (something I was pleasantly surprised at seeing as most people think of it more as a night spot). We had dinner at 8 then got bottle service until the bar closed, one of the best south bay experiences I have ever had.

Best bar in the South Bay! – The Shore has great food, (not a bunch of fried food that you would expect in a bar). But the happy hour and daily specials are really cool here, I cant remember all of them (Im sure their website lists it all) but I know for sure they have half off all bottles of wine on Tuesdays and half off BOTTLE SERVICE on Thursdays! And since Thursdays are so fun there and they have a great DJ and a drum player that plays along side the DJ...the energy is amazing! They have a ton of food and drink specials on Sunday for football and about 15 big screen TVs so you dont get stuck watching a game you dont care about. I know they have bands that play during the weekdays which is really fun, but they always have really good DJs Thurs-Sat and there is a really fun good looking crowd. (Lots of pretty girls for the guys reading this) All of the people that work there are genuinely nice and fun and ALL of them are very attractive! I love going there, but I definitely suggest going around 10 - 10:30 on the weekends otherwise you end up waiting in line and since its getting colder out at night...not so fun! For this place....there really isnt a bad night to go, all nights have some sort of special and there is always a good vibe there!

I've gotta disagree with these other two reviews – The Shore is without a doubt the best place to eat and go out in the South Bay. They've got an excellent new chef who takes time to touch each table and always brings out a sampler of the new cheeses he had imported. The last time I was there for dinner I had a cut of swordfish I'd never had, it was a cut right off the collar bone. Looked like a pork chop. It was the best swordfish I've ever had. The server was excellent as well as the bartenders. I like to go on tuesday and wednesday when they have live music. The crowd is always great and the food, music, servers, atmosphere is the best you'll find in the south bay. I HIGHLY recommend THE SHORE.

You'll regret going – "Terrible! Terrible Service. Awful... we had a waitress on the patio named Bianca who was incredibly unhelpful throughout the Sunday afternoon that we chose to spend at The Shore. Never going back. Their computers supposedly were not working correctly, and things got sheisty, as they couldn't produce a bill or tab, then ad-hoc decided we owed $140.00, and obviously we wanted to see an itemized bill which they couldn't produce and just decided to handwrite our credit card number and "call us" with what we owe. When we protested a) my boyfriend literally got escorted out and b) Bianca got in my face and said "What is your "f'n' problem?"... (mind you, we finally went to the bar after waiting for our bill for a half an hour b/c we saw our waitress leave and walk down the sidewalk). Then i had my own bouncer assigned to me to stare me down while i waited for them to produce a bill. I can't believe you can get kicked out for asking to pay your bill! We finally settled, paid way too much, and left, vowing to never come back. Then, the owner's fiance, chased after us to apologize, but ended up going on a 10 minute riff about herself, and the owner's bad week because she just had her "b**bs done." We're trying to unlock our bikes and leave and she decides to lift up her shirt and show us her bl**d crusted post-surgery support bra. Ugh. Don't go here. Not the hermosa/ south bay beach vibe you're looking for... and even their drink specials are overpriced, but the service is cataclysmic. PS Bianca, I'm still hoping to get that glass of water I requested six times...

Extremely negative experience – I've lived on 6 continents and have eaten in restaurants for 30 years and never have I experienced service so poor. First of all, the food took forever and tasted badly. The fish was extemely fishy and the lettuce in the salads was old and wilted. We were meeting friends there, so we stayed for drinks. The bouncers were rude to our friends and made them wait 40 minutes despite there being hardly anyone inside. Then, we ordered a round of drinks near closing time and the staff took them out of our hands before we had barely taken a sip, because they were "closing". Then, asked to speak to manager--all we needed was an apology for less than acceptable service. The manager was arrogant and rude.
