A lot of fun. You get to walk on the back lot and have monsters jump out at you. You still get to go on all the rides too. I'm not into the mazes but if you like gore and being scared I bet you'll like them.
Provides a hollowing great time with friends! They have monsters that run throughout the park within their themed areas. Mazes from the most recent horror movies. Bring someone that gets scared! Also get the front of the line passes or you make not make it through all the mazes. Stay away from rides that are not Halloween themed or you will just waste time trying toget to the other mazes.
I sent $59.00 to wait in line. – General Impression
Went to Universal Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights last night and I can at best say I was disappointed. The event was extremely oversold and there were lines in excess of an hour to an hour and a half for every maze or attraction. With the exception of the terror tram most of the mazes were short and took less than five minutes to go through. Words cannot describe how much of a letdown it is to spend an hour and a half in line to enter a maze that seems to be over before it started. Security lines to enter the park were also disorganized and consumed almost an hour of our visit. Mostly I feel that I sent $59.00 to wait in miserable, twisting, turning, and often hidden lines.
Knott’s has been doing Halloween events a lot longer and has it down a lot better. They have shorter lines, better and more varied mazes, and better rides as well. Also the atmosphere at Knott’s just lends itself to the Halloween theme a little better adding some great authenticity to the scare zones throughout the park.
In Fairness to Universal
We did go on a Saturday so it may have been extra busy as a result. Also Knott’s, could never do something as elaborately staged as Universal did on the Terror Tram attraction which is admittedly spectacular. However, any good points of the night were quickly overshadowed by the drudgery of the long, time consuming lines.
Great Halloween event! – What a great Halloween event! Take a date or go with your friends.
A little advice: Go early in the season. The closer you get to Halloween, the longer the lines get...and the lines can be LONG!
Get ready for some serious scares when this famed movie lot becomes a spooked-out set for horror's most feared characters. – Back by shrieks and screams for its third year, Hollywood's best known backlot will host some of the horror movie genre's most notorious villians. Movies like "Nightmare on Elm Street," "Friday the 13th" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" are a thing of legend among scary movie fans--and now "Freddy," "Jason" and "Leatherface" will come to life on the Terror Tram, which includes a stopover in the infamous Bates Motel. Also featured will be a series of four themed mazes for guests to try to survive.
Horrifying! – Halloween Horror Nights this year was AWESOME! The Friday the 13th maze was the first attraction we saw I don't want to give anything away but they had everything from the asylum where he was conceived to the Motel from "Nightmare 4" and there was this guy with a pitchfork sticking out from his chest at the beginning! I'm a huge "Friday" fan so and I have to say, Universal put so much detail into the attraction and had amazing replicas of some of the scenes from the series. Another maze was the Tram Tour it was a backlot-style tour that drops you off at the Bate's Motel and you get to walk up to the Psycho house! And of course there were all sorts of ghouls and creeps in the "scare zones" randomly jumping out to scare the hell out of you at every turn! Universal's Halloween Horror Nights is even better than ever and there's nothing more exciting than going into what you think is a regular horror maze and getting yourself Petrified!
