Homestyle Japanese food – I stubbled upon this little gem while apartment hunting.
After having their Beef Egg and Rice in fish broth dish coupled with a bowl of edemame and some hot Sake. I was scraping the plate. Which I never do! Its a lowkey little spot with good service. I fell in love!
When I returned a few days later I couldn't find the place during the day nor did I remember the name. I nearly went mad craving the food!
Now that I've moved and have found it I'm going bac tonight
In the East Village, chefs in a tiny open kitchen prepare home-style Japanese fare inspired by island life and culture. – In Short
It's easy to miss the sign on this East Village den's unassuming glass door. An open kitchen at the center of the dimly lit, brick-lined room adds a homey atmosphere to the space. In addition to daily specials, the small menu offers home-style dishes like omelettes, kaiware salad (crabmeat and radish marinated in mayonnaise) and udon made with flying fish stock and noodles imported from the restaurant's geographical inspiration, the Japanese island of Goto.
