Highly Over Rated – First of all...I ordered my food with VERY specific instructions.

I told the waitress literly 4 times that I did not want ANY butter on my crab legs, on my plate or anywhere in sight...NO BUTTER!!!

After my very elaborate explanation here comes the waitress with my plate of crab swimming in butter.

I could not believe my eyes...after those VERY specific instructions I had given her she had the nerve to say...oh is that butter?

Without apology she took the plate and begain to transfer the crab covered in butter to another plate.

I asked her...is there butter on that crab..she said no.

She handed me the plate with the crab leg covered in butter.

I said...this is covered in butter...I can not have ANY butter.

She made no apoloies for her mistake.

Second of all...it was suposed to be crab LEGS...not crab LEG...and it wasn't even a whole leg.

The quality of the food was good but the flavor was borring. My husbands steak was a good tender cut...but very BLAA in flavor...no seasoning, no taste.

The portions are small and the food is ordinary and of course Very Over Priced for what you get.

When I go to a resteraunt and pay over $50 for my meal I exspect better than average service and of course good food...this didn't have either.

I would take a stringy steak at Out Back ANYTIME over this highly over rated disapointment with poorly trained wait staff !

Didn't meet our expectations – We went the second week they were open and have to say we were both incredibly disappointed. My husband and I enjoy eating at prime steakhouses all over the country and have even eaten at Ruth's Chris in the past (in Vegas). However, our waiter messed everything up, there was an incredibly large and loud party sitting right behind us, our steaks were overcooked and our sides were not very flavorful. All in all, a very underwhelming experience.

Great Filet Mignon – For the second night of a client?s visit to Salt Lake, Ruth?s Chris was recommended. Having dined at La Caille the night before ($66 for the Filet Mignon), I was excited to try Ruth?s Chris with so recent a frame of reference. We were greeted warmly as we entered the restaurant, and were promptly whisked away to our booth. After perusing the menu, we both laughed as we settled (for the second night in a row) on the Filet Mignon. Throughout the evening, service was understated but excellent (our bus-boy Jorge was particularly delightful and kind). I started with the chopped salad, which was excellent and artistic. Then came our entrees and sides?the broccoli au gratin was delicious, as was the sweet potato dish with pecan crust. But the standout for the evening was the melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon. I have never been so impressed with a filet?and this claim deserves some further explanation. Though meat-lovers may scoff, I prefer my meat medium-well: often times, waiters and chefs at fine-dining establishments (and even lesser establishments) will pressure you to opt for medium-rare, or will even outright refuse your request (as was the case at Black Angus), somehow thinking in their arrogance that they know better than you what you will like and haughtily informing you that you are ?ruining? a good cut of meat. I understand their recalcitrance perfectly?preparing a medium-well cut of meat takes a considerable amount of talent, and is much more difficult to achieve than medium rare (as you need to turn the meat more frequently, sear in the juices more carefully, and (obviously) cook the meat longer). I am pleased to say that the waitress offered no resistance to my preference, and when my filet came sizzling on its plate, it melted in my mouth like a filet should. It was simply the best filet mignon I have ever had?it blew La Caille out of the water in terms of texture, flavor, juiciness, and seasoning.

Amazing Service, Amazing food. – I have no idea what a couple of the previous reviews were talking about. Ruth's Chris was the best dining experience I have ever had. Not to mention the best filet I have ever tasted! They bring the meat out to you on a 500 degree platter with butter sizzling on the bottom. When we arrived we were seated promptly. As we sat down the matre d was about to hand us our napkins when she noticed we were both wearing black so she switched out our white napkins for black saying it would match better. Our waiter explained everything extremely eloquently. The warm bread they give you is great. Even the butter tastes better than normal. Everything was absolutely how he said it was. It was our anniversary so they gave us dessert for free. We got the carmelized banana cream pie. Absolutely perfect presentation and taste. It was expensive, $135, that includes a $20 tip. Also my boyfriend ordered two beers and we got the spring water from tuscany, that added some. But it was definitely worth the money. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Overpriced and bland – I received a gift card for Ruth Chris?s for my birthday. I was excited to try this restaurant as I?d heard a lot of good things about it. We made reservations for a Saturday night and were sat promptly when we arrived. I?d heard Ruth Chris?s was pricey and was prepared to spend more than usual but I was still shocked when I opened the menu. $44 for a Ribeye? $29 for seared Ahi? Maybe that price wouldn?t seem too bad for a nice MEAL but that price only covers your entree. All side dishes, salads, toppings etc. cost extra. There are several side orders to choose from and we were told that they are big enough for two people which seemed accurate. We ordered a side of Au gratin potatoes which were $8 and a side of asparagus with hollandaise sauce and that was another $9. Want a glass of wine? That will be $19. A salad would set you back another $10+ dollars. We ordered the aforementioned sides, the Rib Eye and Ahi. The food came out very quickly and the presentation was nice but the flavor was lacking. The Ribeye was chewy and bland. The Ahi portion was generous but the flavor of the tuna was overwhelmed by the stewed tomato flavored sauce it was sitting in. Neither of us finished our entrees nor did we finish the side dishes. The asparagus was particularly awful; flavorless and covered in the worst hollandaise sauce I?ve ever tasted. The potatoes were edible but not memorable and the bread was sour and crusty. Sadly, we were disappointed in everything we tried and the next time we want to go out for a special occasion, it won?t be to Ruth Chris?s no matter who is picking up the tab.

Awesome!!! – Everythin was unbelievable but it is not cheap! I would still rather spend a little more on great food and service than a lot of places Salt Lake has to offer. I will be back!

Unbelievable food, ambience, and service – I love this place! I have dined at several Ruth's Chris across the nation and this one ranks right up there with the rest. I love their stuffed chicken entree and my fiancee loves the cowboy ribeye. This is one of the largest Ruth's Chris Steak Houses I have seen. It was still packed! Make sure you try their crab cakes and chopped salad. They also had several fresh seafood specials. We will have to go back to try them. Definite thumbs up!

Head and Shoulders Above the Rest – What a beautiful restaurant! I love what they have done to the old Baci building. The new accents are warm and inviting. The service and food were second to none In Salt Lake City. I love the cowboy ribeye and my girlfriend loved the filet with blue cheese crust. They also have the best creme brulee I have ever tried. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine selections and made us feel at home. I have dined at many other Ruth's Chris in California and this one ranks right up there with any of them. There are a few finer points to be attended to, but overall our experience was great! You will definitely want to make a reservation if dining here. The restaurtant was packed when we dined there.

Not worth the money – Every year we take our adult children and their spouses (10 people total) to a fine dining restaurant for a holiday meal. This year we chose Ruth's Chris. While we were seated promptly and our order taken timely, it took 45 minutes for half the food to come out and another 15 minutes for the rest. Even then two of the side dishes didn't make it at all. The food was good but not worth the price charged. It was over $40 just for the steak even though it was cooked and seasoned well. All of the other sides were a separate price. The mushrooms were mediocre at best and the potato casserole was all cheese. The Lyonaisse potatoes were cold but the sweet potatoes were delightful. It was the most we have spent yet on a holiday dinner (over $600) and we were very disappointed. There's a lot better food in Salt Lake City and for half the price.

No good – While the service was friendly and prompt, the restaurant was totally over-priced. I ordered a medium-rare steak, and while it was cooked perfectly, it was seasoned way too much and tasted like salt instead of meat. All side-dishes are a la carte (French for over-priced), and the asparagus and mashed potatoes I ordered were cold by the time I got them. In order to beat the extremely inflated prices of wine, I recommend ordering by the bottle instead of by the glass. However, even with this advice, wine is still way over-priced. For a restaurant that doesn't have a dress code, it is probably the most expensive I have ever eaten at. Honestly, I have had better food at Sizzler, and at least there you know what you are getting in to!!!
