smelly ! – I came across Hayashi Ya one cold February day while aimlessly looking for a quick lunch spot. I knew I should have truned around the minute the smell of old fish wafted up my nose. Not a good sign for a Sushi place! The prices were very reasonable and that was eough to tempt me to order some food. I had the Hayashi roll and a sushi combo and did not enjoy it one bit!
Everything about this place is wrong: its run by pimply-face slacked jawed teenaged Chinese kids. The smell of old fish is almost unbearable. I saw flies buzzing about. The salmon rolls in particular were slimy, oily, fishy.
It was a wholly unpleasant experience and I will not eat there again.
Not So Fresh Or Clean / AYCE – It sure is amazing that the Chinese run sushi joint Hayashi Ya is so popular nowadays in due part to their cheap prices and their all you can eat deal (which recently went up to $23.95). I've had too many instances here of dirty glasses and sticky plates to count, but there are a lot of folks who happen to stop by for a quick bite. Maybe delivery (which is lightning fast) is the best option here.
