Hands down worst dining experience in Philly. – The meal I got at this place was embarrassing. First off I got a tasteless, watery margarita. Then for my entree I chose something easy I thought they couldn't screw up, the veggie sandwich. The sandwich comes out and the roll (a really cheap looking roll at that) was absolutely blackened on the top and bottom. It was burnt. Very burnt. I generally don't like to cause trouble when something is a little off or whatever, but everyone at the table urged me to send it back. So I did. I wasn't too hungry to begin with, so I just got a dessert instead. Again, I opted for something they likely couldn't screw up -- fried ice cream. Wrong again. I don't even think it was fried, just rolled in sugar and cinnamon, and the whipped cream, I'm quite sure, was rheddi whip.

This meal was absolutely horrid. It was at the location around 15th and Market. Seriously, if you have an ounce of a palate, avoid this place.

If you're looking for americanized mexican, I'd recommend Mad Mex around 36th and Sansom. I tend to like americanized mexican as it generally offers more vegetarian options, as opposed to authentic mexican which even with "vegetarian" dishes I can still taste meat in it because It's all fried up on the same grill with chorizo and pork, etc. Pico De Gallo on South and 15th is good as well. For real mexican there's a few good places on Washington St.

All in all, don't go to this place! It's horrible.

Poor excuse for Mexican of Tex-Mex – As someone who lived in Texas for many years, I have not had great luck in finding good Mexican or Tex-Mex. However, this was one of the worst places I have ever been. The food was marginally edible, and my credit card number was lifted by our waiter! This was at the Woodhaven location, so perhaps the downtown location is better... it can't be worse.

Bad experience! – Went here on a Sunday afternoon after having drinks and dinner once at the old city location. The waiter "tolerated" us. Food was average. Guacemole needed spice (i.e. jalepenos or even salt which wasn't even on the table) and the chips that were served with it were stale. Drinks were bland. Skip the "deep fried ice-cream"! It really isn't deep fried. Even if the waiter claims that he "did it himself".
