better than average dim sum, lousy service and dirty – First of all, it was difficult to find parking. Once inside, the food was not bad. However, the restaurant was very dirty. They stacked dirty dishes and leave them right in front of the customer. The waiter was inattentive. It seems they only cared about chinese customers and ignored other. The food definitely was not worth the hassle. Would not return.
Go here and have a great time! – Go here and have an awesome dim sum experience! They take reservations, but the place is huge and has enough turnover that you won?t have to wait too long anyway. They have giant tables for big groups, smaller tables are also available and you can sometimes share tables with another group. Great food, plenty of options and the wait staff are VERY nice to everyone. The food is excellent with plenty of fried items, meat, tofu and healthier steamed options. There are always carts going through with fresh food to pick from. The price is very reasonable ? it?s tough to spend more than $10 per person. It?s a great value!
Best Dim Sum – The only question I have to ask is, why don't they have their own parking lot? If you try parking at the other two dim sum places on the same block and start walking towards Jade Garden some waiter or waitress will usually come out yelling at you. I usually end up parking in the parking lot up underneath the I5 bridge ($3 /hr). I also recommend making a reservation about 20 or 40 minutes before going, it's especially busy around lunch time. They stop serving dim sum around 3:00pm and usually start running out of food before 2:00pm. If it's any Chinese holiday just make a reservation either a day or a week before (I'm not sure if they hold them for that long) or just give up because the place is usually packed, even if it's not a holiday. The service varies from time to time. Sometimes they'll be so busy that no food will pass your table for a few minutes. Other times you'll be served mountains and mountains of food, and very good food of course ( I highly recommend the dragon shrimp, even though it's the most expensive item on the menu, about $5 I think). This place is perfect for group lunches. We usually come with a party of 6 - 9 people. Mostly every dish comes in servings of 3, but a couple can get by if they know how to share, and it's even okay to go alone because then you get all the food for yourself ( I see people do it). I've never been disappointed with the bill either. It's always a reasonable price.
BEST DIM SUM - BY FAR - IN SEATTLE!! – I've tried Dim Sum all through the International District of Seattle, as well as Beacon Hill and Bellevue's several Dim Sum restaurants. NEVER had I had Dim Sum anywhere that seemed much better than other places....not until the JADE GARDEN!! This was by far, the best Dim Sum I've ever eaten. And, I've been there many times. It's ALWAYS the same...FANTASTIC, AND ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
After you have Dim Sum at the Jade Garden, you won't be happy anywhere else!
Great for groups. GREAT DIMSUM! – I?ve eaten here dozens of times; most of them were after late nights of getting wasted. Like a few other China Town restaurants this place is open very late on Fridays and Saturdays until 4 or 5AM. The service is typical for Chinatown (inattentive to so-so). The environment is average, and can get a little messy with all the crowds flowing through.
Afternoon dim sum review: I?ve also eaten here a couple times for dim sum, and I was very much impressed. The quality and quantity of the dim sum has been outstanding. Expect good-sized portions of chicken feet, tripe, and beef noodles. The shumai is always a winner. The staff is very busy cleaning and serving during the afternoon time. I plan to return for dim sum soon!
Midnight eating review: One time while being plated, a piece of chicken fell onto the table. The waiter just picked it up and tossed it back on the plate. The dish tasted like something was horribly wrong, so we asked him to take it away. We got charged for it, and we didn?t even eat half. The food is usually decent considering the price, but not always. Consistency of quality is horrible. The ? peking duck was more like 1/5 duck. The Mongolian beef, salt and pepper squid, and honey walnut prawns are usually winners. The quantity is medium sized. This place is best enjoyed with large groups at late weekend nights -- who want sobering food that isn?t fast food.
Best Dim Sum in Seattle – Let me start off by saying "I'm Chinese, so I know." This place has the absolute, hands down, best dim sum in seattle & vicinity. For anything even close you'd have to drive to Vancouver, BC. The food is fresh and deliciously prepared, service is great. There's always a wait after about 10:30am on the weekends, but thats what Dim Sum is all about. The cooks can also perpare specialty dishes that only authentic Chinese people know, which they don't typically put on the carts, so bring a chinese person and they can ask for it via special order. It's a bit pricey compared to other places, but it's definitely worth it.
Seattle's top Dim Sum! – This is pretty much the place to go for Dim Sum in Seattle. All of the ingredients of a good Dim Sum house are there. Lots of carts, big crowds, noise, and if you come on a weekend you'll have to wait. Often if you are willing to share a larger table with other people, you can shorten your wait considerably. For some reason, Dim Sum is more fun when served in a bustling environment, and Jade Garden is the best I've found in the ID. Steam carts keep everything hot, make sure you ask for some Chinese Brocolli shortly after you arrive, so that it comes to your table during the meal. Also recommended: Shrimp or beef noodle.
