AWESOME EVERYTHING – This is a wonderful restuarant. I have been here uncountable times and every single time it's perfect! They have GREAT food and AMAZING service! It is a very good spot to go on Friday and Saturday nights because they have a bar and a patio lounge that is comfortably busy. I would choose this restaurant over any other.
Very fun, comfortable, cozy place to wine and dine with friends and family – Well,
I've been there only once and thought it was one of the most beautiful, upscale restaurant lounges I've been too. I loved the look of the place. Very cozy, warm, dark atmosphere with different sections through out including the Deli/Bakery and not to forget the outdoor patio. That was my favorite. I loved the spacious couches and decor. I loved that you can feel like you can lounge out there and be comfortable with your friends while dining and drinking. It's so comfortable and cozy.
I loved the food and drink variety too. It's nice to have a variety of choices to choose from.
Very nice place. Will definitely go back and I'm from San Diego so not as often as I like but whenever I'm in the area, that's where I'd like to be.
my favorite Phoenix night spot – Olive & Ivy is a fine establishment. The lunch menu on weekdays is fantastic. I have had the poached salmon with oyster mushrooms and the veal ravioli with shaved parmesan. Both dishes were superb. My favorite of the two would be the poached salmon. The restaurant also serves nice bread with a tasty basil pesto dip which I really enjoyed.
I don't care for the weekend "brunch" menu which has too many breakfast items. I don't want eggs at 2pm.
Where Olive & Ivy really excels is in the evening. During the mild Scottsdale fall/winter/spring evenings, you can sit al fresco by outdoor fire pits, with burbling water fountains and outdoor couch style seating. I have been there many times in the evenings for drinks. I found the food in the evenings is superb. I also had an exceptional Riseling by a winery called "Seven Hills", a winery which I had not head of before.
The staff is always very friendly, regardless of what day or what time I have visited. I have always received exceptional service from both wait staff and hostesses. I predict Olive & Ivy will become the new hot spot for singles looking for a more refined experience beyond some of the other "meat market" establishments. Olive & Ivy is brand new and as of November 2006 has only been open for a month. By spring 2007, this will be in the top 5% of most popular night spots. I recently watched the sun set, sitting outside by the fire pit, with a fine wine and great company. I met new people from all over the world. It was unbeatable.
Finally, Olive & Ivy is located within a stone's throw of about 10 other night spots in the Scottsdale Waterfront area. So if you're into bar hopping, there are plenty of choices.

I would go back for their salad ONLY! – New restaurant in town. Just opened some in October. The resturant itself is rather big and it is devided into 2 parts -deli and the main dining area. The deli serves trendy salads, pastries, desserts, and gelato. I bought a couple of desserts from the deli and they weren't as nice as they were presented. As for the main dining room, I LOVE the contemporary decor....absolutely gorgeous. However, I wasn't too impressed with their food and service. Our waitress didn't know anything much about the menu and mixed up my orders. The ceasar salad was great, however, shrimp appetizer was way too salty. We ordered the beef short ribs and steak combo deal - and we weren't too impressed with the flavor and their portion is way too small. We ordered the churro with pudding dipping sauce for dessert and it wasn't any different than the ones you get from the mall. Maybe they are really new and haven't really got everything down to the T but who knows?!
Sam Fox's latest restaurant concept is an enormous Mediterranean heaven – In Short
Dozens of candles and dangling lights greet guests in this expansive, yet romantic space. For people-watching, a table on the spacious patio or restaurant is the perfect perch; this restaurant is always guaranteed to be busy. Their private glass-doored room is just the spot for an intimate group or business. Within the restaurant is a brightly-lit restaurant with sandwiches and drinks for a more casual affair.
