Alessi February Sale Event through Feb. 28, 2011 – Alessi's annual February Sale Event is taking place now through February 28th at the Alessi Soho store at 130 Greene St. Floor samples, irregulars and discontinued items are now up to 70% off.
Think twice before setting up your wedding registry here! – I am amazed at the appalling level of service that this store offers. I own a lot of Alessi products and I think they are fantatstic, but clearly the staff at the Soho store have no training in basic customer service. Amongst other things - they lost our registry paperwork with all our information and products selected, sent us the wrong products purchased from our registry, changed the registry website address without notifying anyone...I could go on and on, but the worst thing is that they do not even apologize for their multiple screw-ups. Mistakes happen but the least they can do is apologize for their own incompetence!! Our registry has been set-up for only 2 months and we are already up to major screw-up number 5.
By way of contrast, we also have a registry with another large homeware store and that has been a completely seamless and pleasant experience. As an aside, you would think in a high-end store like Alessi that the staff would have a basic knowledge of their own products. When I asked the Assistant Manager the functional difference between the pots and pans he said "I don't know but one is prettier than the other"....hmmm
a little disappointed – Sales people are a little aloof to regular people. I felt I walked into a designer private party.
It is wrong to judge people by appearance.
Don't even want to try their overpriced coffee.
Best Anywhere – The other user is completely wrong with this place. The espresso is DELICIOUS! Customer service could not be better. The barista and I had a pleasant conversation about the misconception of freezing coffee beans and other little interesting tid-bits about coffee. And the store in the back is absolutely lovely. The representatives that were there were very helpful/smart. One girl in particular, her name escapes me, but she is the best. I have been there several times and she is the youngest there so you wouldn't expect her to know much but she is so smart and so charismatic! The perfect addition to this team!
I recommend anyone go there... it is definitely the best by far!
Lazy Service, Burned Coffee, Not Recommended – I was at the store looking and touching everything for hours and received no greeting, no service.
The two dudes didn't even look at my direction the moment I got in.
Then I decided to sit down and buy a cup of coffee to give them a second chance (Why did I do that?)
The coffee was burned. What a waste of my money.
Trust me. If you want to buy Alessi products, go next door in MOSS or just buy online.
