Why go through this? – The Wal-mart of bridal stores, without the friendly greeter.

I recently bought a bridesmaid dress at this David's Bridal. The staff is way overworked and didn't give me the time of day. When someone finally talked to me and found me a sample dress of the one my bride wanted me to wear they handed it to me, put me in a room, and I never saw them again. I figured the dress fit okay in the size they gave me and decided to just order it and get out of there.

When the time came to pick up the dress the clerks were, once again, way too busy for me. They found the dress and handed it to me, didn't even ask me if I wanted to try it on! I didn't put up a fight, but I should have.

The dress did not fit me well at all. The top was really too big and the bottom part around my legs just...weird. The dress ripped when I picked something up for the bride. Another 'maid had to keep asking me to pin the top of her dress back together during the wedding reception because the button at the top of the zipper tore off.

All this, plus I paid $150 for a dress then later saw one just like it at Target for $30. David's Bridal is a rip off and everyone knows it, but they could at least try to have good service.

Bad to Worse. – I am giving one star because it is the lowest rating that this site will allow. Let me open by saying that I am a pretty laid back person that understands there are times you sacrifice service for a less expensive product. Well this must be the business plan and mission statement of this company. I looked for a wedding dress at multiple stores up to $2500. I went to David's Bridal because I thought it would be a good place to see a wide varitey of dresses with a low pressure environment. I bought my dress at David's and the lady that helped me was really nice and attentive. She couldn't have been better. I loved the dress. I hadn't decided to buy a veil but tried them on anyway. When I was in the dressing room getting ready to leave the manager put a veil that I did not like on the counter and rang it up. My parents paid for the veil thinking I must have changed my mind. So here we are at home when I see this veil. We called the store and they wouldn't take it back. It was $150. So I went back to get my dress from alterations. The lady that measured and recorded my needs was really nice. The lady I picked it up from was NOT! They had put cups in and one was 5 inches to far to the side and the other was almost showing in the middle of the sweetheart neckline. They changed the ruching on the dress and told me "You don't know what you are talking about" when I asked them about it. There was a black ink pen mark on the front of my dress and makeup on my buttons on the back. What are these people thinking. They are rude and incapable of giving customer service. I thought my mother was going to take a life. Go spend the extra money and buy a dress somewhere else. It has been the most frustrating thing about the entire wedding and if you're planning one you know how profound a statement that is. Best of luck Brides.

Turning you away at the door – These People have absolutely no idea what good customer service is! I'm planning on getting married in May and my mom and I had been to several bridal shops in the area, and since David's Bridal was open until 7 and it was 4:30, we decided we'd go there next. At the door we were practically turned away.

The lady at the door asked what she could do for us and we told her we were in the market for a wedding dress. She was like "Well, we don't have any availability to work with you right now because we still have 3 more brides in the next two hours." First red flag. There were SEVERAL associates wandering around. I'll admit the store did have several customers, but give me a break. They can't take care of 3 people in the next two hours?

My mom being the optimist that she is politely responded, "Well, that's okay. We're just trying to get some ideas today, we'll just look around." The lady got defensive and said, "That's not the way it works. We set up appointments to have a consultant help you pick things out. We don't have any available appointments today. You're supposed to work with the consultant and then we order for you what you decide on." I can't even explain on a written online review how insanely RUDE this woman was. It was unbelievable. It was like something out of a movie. We were ready to walk out at this point now that we'd spent 5 minutes discussing how their store works. This sales associate was intent on turning us away as customers. They plainly just didn't want our business. She finally settled with letting us take a look around but told us that we weren't allowed to take ANYTHING off of any racks.

I was so angry. I can't believe that they are so rude to a paying customer. I don't give a crap about how they think it "works," I am the customer for goodness sake. You aren't going to let me look around? I'm paying YOU. I will tell YOU how things WORK.

I did find a store that provided exceptional customer service and made the whole process all about me. I'll be buying my dress from them. I'm writing a letter to the specific location AND David's Bridal Coporate as should everyone else that has had a bad experience. I will tell all of my friends that are planning on getting married about my bad experience and warn them not to go to David's Bridal. In this economy people should not be turning away customers and their main focus should be providing exceptional customer service and making the customer happy. That's what keeps people returning to stores and referring their friends to them as well.

Stay Away – You would not think they work on commission. They are horrible. Our consultant did not know the stock. Would not listen to what I was looking for, and was trying to pick out accessories which did not even go with the gown. While the first dress I tried on was fabulous (I picked it out) it was all downhill from there.

I went through the dresses with my sister and picked 5 gowns I wanted to try. I showed them to the associate and asked her to pull them in the correct size. She went ahead and pulled the first two and we were off to the dressing room. Both had to come off the mannequine as they were the only ones in the size I needed.

I tried it the 1st one and loved it. We tried on the accessories and had a lot of fun (not any that she chose, good thing my sister was with me) I tried on the next one and it could not compare to the first so I wanted to go on to the next dress, but our sale consultant was no where to be found and she had not pulled the other dress for me. No problem I just sent my sister to pull it, I mean that is what sisters are for.

And here is where the major issues start. Enter stage right crazy sales associate. This women was not even my associate, but is apparently not happy that I sent my sister to pull a dress (already had a slight run in with this associate as she was not happy that she had to assist taking a dress off the mannequin) As my sister is on her way back to the dressing room with the dress and I am just hanging out in my bra in the dressing room, the associate offers to take the dress to the dressing room for us.

My sister comes back to the dressing room empty handed and the other associate disappears. When my sister finally tracked her down she had put it behind the register so I would “not be able to try on the dress.” My sister explained that I was waiting in the dressing room waiting to try on the dress and she literally said, “You will just have to wait.” My sister then asked how long and she said “as long as I feel like it”

When another associate asked if she could help she told me it was their policy to over not to “overwhelm” the bride. Overwhelmed??? By two dress?? I am a smart women I am sure that trying on the 5 dresses I picked out was not going to overwhelm me.

I was in utter shock; I thought they wanted to sell bridal gowns. I was looking to purchase a $1,000 plus gown which is on the high end for David’s and they were treating us like we were trash. Stop trying to be Klinfields and know what you are; a discount bridal shop. Come on people. They were not even busy. There were 9 consultants milling around and only three women trying on dresses.

I had been there a couple of time previously for bridesmaid dresses and tough they were rude but nothing like this last time.

My sister actually bought her dress from the Durham David's Bridal and had a great experience. We will never go back to the David's on Capital and I am planning to purchase the gown I like at the Durham store where the customer service is great!!!

All I can say is stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awful Quality and My feet are still dyed from the Shoes! – I recently got married and I picked out my 3 bridesmaid dresses and shoes from David's Bridal. The dresses at the time were $99 and then the shoes plus to have them dyed to match my dresses was $54. I am told to come in and pick up my dresses and shoes and so I do. The dresses are handed to be ripped!!! I am furious because the sales lady just says "well yea, they have discontinued this dress because they are poorly made!" If they are that badly made then why did they let me buy it? So we find another one off the salesrack and THAT ONE WAS RIPPED as well!!! Unbelievable. So with the wedding in a week - I just let alterations fix the dresses (2 of them!) and then ask for my shoes. I was informed that they forgot to do them! Ugh! So now its 6 days until my wedding. We get the shoes later and the girls feet are still dyed red from them and it is now 10 days AFTER they wore them at the wedding. This is just awful service and quality. It has also been a pain to talk to anyone about my complaints and getting a refund for at least the shoes.

Another issue - come to find out the dresses went down in price RIGHT after I bought the dresses - from $99 to $72. Now I should be able to get a refund of $27 and a refund of $54 for the shoes that are ruined and can't be worn again.

David's Bridal - I will continue to write bad comments about you as well as tell everyone I know NEVER to buy from this company. I want a refund NOW.

Cheaply made dresses, alterations are WAY over priced! – When I went to the David's Bridal store, it took a good 30 minutes to have someone help me. They then hand you a bustier and then expect you to come back out of the dressing room wearing only a bustier while they show you dresses. There are mirrors everywhere and anyone in the store can see you. The lack of privacy bothered me.

After telling the lady what I was looking for, she kept bringing me stuff I wasn't looking for. Then she brought me something fabulous! At first, I loved my dress. I tried on one that was a size smaller at the David's Bridal store. The salesperson assured me one size up would be perfect for me. I purchased it in April. It finally arrived in July. When I went to my alteration appointment, I tried on my dress for the first time. It did NOT fit! It was NOT the measurements I was told it would be. Also, the material is very thin. You could see my bustier through the dress. So then the David's Bridal alteration consultant decided that she could put in the corset in the back and make it all better. After going to my alteration appointment, they quoted me $253 worth of alterations for the bustle, letting out, and corset. YIKES!! No way!

I decided not to pay for alterations and my dress is now on ebay. I ended up buying my dream dress from a discount outlet online and paid the extra $100 for rush shipping. My wedding is next month.

I wouldn't deal with David's Bridal again.

Beware: My personal information was given out by their company! – I was treated like I was one of a heard when in this shop. The prices might be low but the service & quality sacrificed are not worth it. Additionally, when filling out the papers I was assured that the information was not going to be given to any companies EXCEPT David's Bridal. This was false. My information was sold and I continue to get calls and emails from vendors 3 months later. I had to deal with the corporate headquarters to have my information removed.

Awful customer service! – The people are rude and act like you are bothering them when you ask them a question. And forget about returning ANYTHING! They do not take returns...for any reason. I tried to return a pair of shoes 48 hours after buying them. Never even put them on my feet and they would not take them back. The Sales Associate did not tell me about the no return policy. The manager was rude and had poor customer services skills. I also had to wait almost 30 minutes for service. This store is a chain with polyester dresses - stop acting like a fancy bridal boutique with attitude. This store is a joke and I will never return.

Beautiful Dress, Marginal Service – They have a great choice of dresses but the service was a little slower than I expected. The consultants were knowledgeable about the dresses and did a good job of trying to match me up with what I described.

annoyed - they gave my phone number away. – I went here in September 2006 shortly after I got engaged, and my experience was so-so. I went in there and they did their routine asking for my name, address, and phone number thinking that was regulation being on a mailing list or something like that.

After waiting for someone to assist me with trying on dresses for about 2 hours I finally got someone who was upfront snot.

I know that I'm the skinniest gril in the world. (I'm a size 18 roughly) and she insisted that I wore a 22. I then tried on the dress and it didn't fit me as I expected. So I found a dress that was the size 18 and it was fun to try on and I didn't buy it cause I was planning on losing more weight.

About a month later I got a phone call from a company saying that I was entered for a drawing for a dream honeymoon and I won. They mentioned that I won some 4 day trip to the bahamas or some stuff like that.

They told me all I had to do was go to this meeting at a hotel to claim my prize. That was not the case. I got to the hotel and thinking I was going to go out of there with a free vacation, ended up being a stupid scam. They did this hour presentation of selling $5000 cookware, saying that if we didn't we would die from our own cookware.

Later we wanted to more details on this "trip", so we went and met with the man and he said that we would have to pay for our airfare and they would pay for the hotel. No thank you.

MY POINT IS= I don't appriciate David's Bridal giving out my number to people who are going to use it against me. They stink!
