Quality not good enough for price – We have been there twice, the last time as a group of six. The general opinion was the food was not as good as the price would suggest. The fact that they automatically added a 20% tip to all groups >= 6 was not appreciated either.

They tried to bait and switch our meal. – I've eaten at Briganti about ten times. The food is really good. The first nine times I ate there, the service was kind of poor. We've had the usual bad service where we have to go to the kitchen for silverware, wait forever for the check, etc. I like the food and it is close to home, so I've gone hoping the servers would improve. My last trip was so awful, I will never go back.

I'm not sure if this rant will make sense, but I'll try to explain it anyway. If this posting makes one less person go to this scam hole, I will be happy.

Basically, this restaurant tried to bait and switch us. If I was at a stereo store in the 80s, I'm okay with the tactic. But, bait and switch at a restaurant? You order steak. They bring the wrong one that is more expensive. If you ask for the steak on the menu, they say it is out. If you call their bluff, they will give you what you originally ordered. It's like eating at a used car lot.

Our waiter brought out the wrong meal. It was ten dollars more than the meal my wife ordered. She said it wasn't what she ordered. The waiter said they were out of what she ordered so she could have this instead. When she asked if it would cost the price of her original order, he said 'no.' It was ten dollars more. She said she didn't want it. He said it was this or nothing since they didn't have what she ordered. She said 'nothing.' Of course, that meant my meal was now ruined since she didn't want to share mine. Her food went back to the kitchen.

The waiter then returned with good news. They weren't out of what she ordered and she could have it for cheaper. When she asked what cheaper meant, he said it was less than the meal he erroneously brought her. She could have it for the price it was listed at on the menu.She said, "so I can have what I ordered at full price." He said, 'yes.' Then the manager came over and said, 'see, we make everyone happy here." like they were doing humanitarian work by bringing her what she ordered at full price.

Awful service – We went to this restaurant on a special date night out without the kids. When we requested to switch tables b/c we were right next to the kitchen door, the waitress gave us attitude and said it was unlikely b/c it was a busy night. The hostess came by and also made us feel bad about making such a simple request. It ruined the rest of our meal. We otherwise would have enjoyed the food if it weren't for the hostess and waitress, who ignored us the rest of the night until she gave us our bill with a fake smile. If you want to try this restaurant, try the food to go; otherwise, we do not recommend this place at all!

Good food, TERRIBLE service – A group of 8 of us had dinner last night at Briganti. We had an 8:00 pm reservation, but waited until 8:30 to be seated. When I had called the prior week to make the reservation I was asked if I preferred to be seated indoors or on the patio, and chose the patio. However the hostess tried to seat us indoors after our 30 minute wait. I explained that we expected a table on the patio. She actually had the nerve to tell me that another party with an 8:30 reservation were waiting for the next patio table but she'd give it to us anyway because we were so nice!! We were shown to a table in the back of the patio in a dark corner where the heat lamps were stored. After several minutes water glasses were brought to the table, and eventually bread. After about another half hour and frantically waving down the waitress, we were finally able to order wine. However when the waitress brought the wine she explained that they were out of clean glasses and to please be patient! Well we waited and waited for her return. Finally my husband went to the kitchen to find her and she told him she had forgotten about us! We finally got our wine and ordered food. On the plus side there were many daily specials, and our appetizers were all very good. I had an arugula and baby artichoke heart salad that was absolutely delicious. For my main cousre I had a mushroom risotto that was somewhat on the dry side and underseasoned. I requested fresh ground pepper but it never came. During the course of the meal we had requested more bread, which finally came about when we had finished. Apparently they cook it to order - makes no sense at all. Dessert was very good, although they somehow ran out of canolli.

All in all I think this restaurant has a lot of promise, but they need to vastly improve their service. I won't return on a weekend evening again.

best italian food ever – Just went to Briganti for dinner on New Year's Eve. It was a delightful experience. The menu is great.

The food is excellent. The wine list is good. The service is perfect. We had the caprese salad, rigatoni, chicken, and pizza for the husband. So very good. We chose tiramisu for dessert--the best ever. Liked the decaf as it was strong. We needed reservations even at 5 PM. I can hardly wait to go back. I get hungry everytime I think about their menu.
