Not worth the $$$ – We ordered pizzas and drinks and an appitizer of Onion Rings... The Onion rings were good of course being almost like homemade however if your stomach can't handle greesy, that's what they are...more than atypical greesy, it was dripping off of them. The pizza is the best size for a person and looks and smells good but the outer crust was burned and the dough in the center was still raw. The greese also sat on top of the pizza that could soak napkins up. I would expect this from a mom and pop place not from a Brewery. Their slogan on their glasses also said "You don't support your drinking but River City does" I thought that very inappropriate for an establishment. I am not picky but River City motivated me to get online and write a review. Every situation will vary depending on the staff working at the time you arrive, I just wanted to inform of the experience my husband and I had. The service was okay but not $50.00 worth for two pizzas and two drinks.

Really great food, and nice owners – Just had lunch here OMG!! One of the best burgers in town. I suggest ordering the onion rings that are made fresh in a fluffy beer batter. The pizza is good and is made in a brick stone oven. All over it is a great place to dine. I can't wait to go back for dinner with the hubby.

Great brews – They have a nice selection of lagers and ales. The food is always great, and so is the service. Best place to eat in the downtown mall.

Great beer – We drank beer at the River city Brewing company, after our mailman converntion this last weekend. My buddies and I had a great time, the beer was cold and very good. The Rueben sandwhich was very good also. We were visiting Sacramento from Torrance, Ca and looking for someplace like home. This place was just like home with better beer. We also have to thank Carole with an E, she had the good jokes and made our visit even better. Thanks again, Steve.

Not your average bar food – My friends took me there for dinner last weekend, and I've got to say the food was excellent. I had half a hamburger w/ fries, and half of the chicken and cheese ravioli... yummy all around. The beer wasn't so great (ironic, right?), but that's probably because they were out of their 2 most popular.

By the way, if the HAMBURGER isn't on the menu, just ask for it. They'll make it!

ask for Shanee – I dined for lunch at River City while shopping at the Sacramento mall. I was very stressed out and in a hurry. I wanted to dine at a restaraunt, not the food court. I was greeted by a very friendly hostess, and seated within minutes in Shanee's section. I was by myself so I felt a little odd being at a restaraunt. Shanee was extremely attentive to my needs and made my experience very enjoyable! He even reminded me to validate my parking. Thank you Shanee, I'll request you next time!

Hamburgers? – Everyone is talking about the hamburgers? I went at night & there were not hamburgers! You could get a small mini pizza for $15.00, the dinner menu was very limited & starts at $15.00, the beer is great, service slow though, you can see empty tables & they still will give you a 30 minute wait. You can see some college guys but mainly the business man or woman who unwind after work, I saw a lot of upscale singles here.

Lousy Service – Food is above average for brewery. Nice menu with seasonal specials. Calamari salad is good, hamburgers are huge and tasty. Ceasar is nothing special. Soups are good.

But the service is lousy each and every time I go there. Not attentive on drinks and don't check back with you to see if everything is okay or if you need anything in addition to what was served.

This place proves without a doubt that beer goes with more than just burgers and fries. – The Scene
Not much has changed at this restaurant since it was sold to the Bay Area based Faultline Brewing Company in March of 2000. Stuart Edgecomb is still working wonders in the kitchen, Vienna--the award-winning amber lager-- is still flowing freely from the tap and working stiffs still fill the place almost nightly. The only difference is that you can now sample Faultline brews along with the regular beer.

The Food
Definitely not the standard pub fare. Dinner is a fancy affair with prices to match. Lunch is more casual and tends to draw in executive types because of its proximity to the Capitol and the surrounding business district. Don't expect any low-cal selections on the rich and sinful, California-cuisine-infused menu. Goat cheese and oils are a running theme through many dishes.

What to Order
Start with the amazingly well-constructed eggplant napoleon, the restaurant's signature appetizer. The tiny tower is layered with goat cheese, basil pesto and tomato tapenade, and served with red pepper coulis. Also indulge in the brick-oven-baked pizzas and the spicy, seafood-rich jambalaya.

good location by old town – I just returned from a trip up north and was fortunate enough to have someone recommend this restaurant to me. Everything we ate was excellent and even though not geared towards children, my two young ones were very happy with their dinner and mine! I would go back just for the potabello fritters!
