Best waitress in SFO – The wait staff at Regalitos is the best anywhere. They keep you supplied with Sangria. We had a waitress named Jade who was just adorable and charming.
Delicious and Delightful – It's a special treat to enjoy delicious food and impecible service WITH your two young children. The gorgeous waitress at Regalito's was charming and patient with my two little ones. The food was superb. I can't get enough of that mole!
best Mexican in San Francisco – What's not to like about Regalito-the service? no that's very good. The food, no, it's delicious and authentic. The decor, wrong again, it's very cool and inviting. It's great to go to a Restaurant with passion and commitment to great food I reccomend the chicken mole and the grilled corn--they are the BEST., but don't forget to start with the guacamole and end with the fried mango and ice cream!!!
Skip the wait – After a 30 minute wit, we had high expectations, but we were disappointed by the service, portion size,
as well as the prices for the small portions. In the heart of the Mission, this restaurant cannot compete
with the Mexican restaurants that are located here.
Now this is Mexican – If you are looking for amazing Mexican you just found it. Drop everything get in the car and go get some food from here. There is nothing more to say than just amazing!!!
Fresh, fun, fast & affordable! – We went to Regalito for dinner after looking all over SF for a sit-down (not burrito joint) Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was the first thing to impress us - giving off a vibe of both warm and fresh. The food to follow intensified that first impression. The food came out quickly on a plate with no fuss. The portions were just right and quite a deal for the price. We were actually surprised that the entree prices included rice and beans. Everything was just right - not too heavy or overpowering but full of flavor. We loved the carnitas, the carne asada, and the flan. We've since been back 3 or 4 times and everything has been consistently tasty. We actually went for brunch today and the chilaquiles were amazing! I think Regalito is the right combination of an affordable, yet delicious, neighborhood spot - a perfect addition to SF!
Better than the rest! – I've been to Regalito's twice now and both times have been excellent. The food is unpretentious and tasty with excellent portions. I've had the mole and enchiladas verdes as well as their guacamole and they were all VERY good. The margaritas are different since they have agave wine instead of tequila, but they are REALLY delicious. To top it off, the service is terrific-- I can't even begin tell you how nice the servers have been even during their busy times. Last night my boyfriend and I tried to go to another Mexican restaurant closer to our house, and the service made us leave and never want to go back. So we went to Regalito's and were welcomed by two amazing servers who were personable and efficient and made our dinner fun and enjoyable.
A petite Mission spot serves up fresh, organic Mexican comfort-food specialties. – The Scene
Couples sipping wine and beer are afforded a sense of intimacy and community, whether sitting at tables or counter seats within view of the wide-open, silver-clad kitchen. Windows flanking the door invite neighborhood sunlight and arty photos decorate walls painted to match fresh limes on display. Authentic music can be heard whispering from speakers above the kitchen.
Organic ingredients further distinguish this cozy place from other Mexican restaurants in the Mission. The toasted pumpkin seeds pack a chile-lime kick, while rich and chunky guacamole complements anything on the focused menu, including lightly fried potato taquitos garnished with diced tomatoes and crumbled white cheese. House-made tortillas hug grilled chicken in slightly under-seasoned enchiladas that are drizzled with a mild verde sauce. Tender carne asada is worth the trip alone, while skirt steak is grilled to perfection and accompanied by plump mushrooms.
A great addition to the Mission – I tried out this new restaurant in my neighborhood last week. First off I'm glad to see it opened - it's a very nice little spot. It kind of reminded me of limon back in it's early days..
The interior is lovely - very warm and chic looking - not at all what I'd expect from a mexican restaurant (not meant to offend..), service was great by a lovely waitress and even the owner came down to check on us once.
The sala and chips were delicious and incredibly fresh. Main courses were good, but not as great as I expected - we tried the chicken and the beef and while very nice I just thought they were alittle bland. Maybe a little more spices?
The only gripe was the wine. The wine prices/value seemed a little out of whack compared to the food. We paid $7.50 a glass each and it looked very small..
All in all a great spot and great value for money overall.. I'll be going back.. Kudos to the owner you've done a nice job and I wish you success!
Mexican – This place is wonderful. The chicken is awesome, the empanadas are to die for and the list goes on and on. Having lived in Mexico, the food served at Regalito Rosticeria is authentic and fresh, just like it should be. The decor is fabolous. Overall - a delightful experience!! This place is destined for greatness and I can't wait to go back.
