Salads galore – I dropped in here one day on the way to classes at Tech and I must say, the salad was quite good and since the portions were big, I left full. All in all, not bad for 10 dollars.
Dressed Salads – I always crave salads but have always had a hard time finding a great salad that is quick and easy. I always end up going through a drive thru joint with the intentions of ordering one of their salads... but as soon as I get up to order, I smell that fried goodness and always end up ordering something completely unhealthy for myself. So when I heard of Dressed in Midtown, I thought that it was a great idea. The delivery of healthy salads! Of course, you can eat inside at their location, but I chose to have it delivered for lunch. To begin with, delivery orders must be at least $10 which kinda stinks when one of their salads is around $7-$9. So I decided to order two (since I had a coupon) and decided I would just eat the second one tomorrow. If you take a look at their online delivery menu you can see the array of choices they have to offer for your salad. Five different kinds of greens to choose from, 55 toppings to choose from (you get to pick 4 toppings per salad; any additional is 50 cents), 12 different types of meat (these are additional $ as well), and 24 different dressings to top off your self-built salad. The toppings include an array of items such as crispy chinese noodles, mandarin oranges, dried cherries, sliced almonds, grilled asparagus, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and many, many more. The variety of meat options include grilled chicken, cajun chicken, grilled steak, ham, salami, turkey, tofu, egg whites, and thick cute bacon. And finally the dressings range from a delicious blueberry pomegranate vinaigrette to a dijon wasabi ginger vinaigrette and everything in between!
So after reading carefully over all the options, I decided on my salad. Baby spinach with raisens, dried cherries, grapes, and sliced almonds with the blueberry pomegranate vinaigrette dressing on the side. I called and placed my order around noon hoping that the salad would arrive within 30 minutes (it is of course delivery for a reason), but the salad did not arrive until almost an hour later which disappointed me. I became "too hungry" for a salad. Weird I know, but sometimes I just get so hungry that I want a big, juicy cheeseburger instead. So finally, after waiting the salad was finally delivered. The delivery man was very nice and welcoming. I received my salad and rushed to the kitchen because I was STARVING. But luckily this salad wasn't the kind where you receive a boat full of lettuce with a few toppings sprinkled on top. No, this salad was heavy and full of toppings. So many toppings that I ultimately ate all the lettuce and had plenty of toppings left in the bottom (you never see that happen). The salad was wonderful and fresh and the fruits were the perfect compliment.
The only downside to Dressed were the pricy salads. Yes I know that $8 isn't that much but when my salad only contains lettuce, raisens, cherries, and grapes it can be kind of pricy to order often. I also didn't like how long it took to deliver the salad. I usually order delivery because (1) I dont have time to drive to a restaurant and (2) I like the convenience of having it delivered to my door. I could have probably driven to Dressed, eaten in the restaurant, and driven back to work by the time the delivery guy showed up at my door with the salad.
But overall, I truly enjoyed the salad from Dressed and would order from them again. The salad was wonderful and delicious. You can't really see the toppings in the picture because they are all sitting in the bottom because there are so many that its so heavy. It is also is sized enough for 2 meals. But mine was so delicious I couldnt stop eating it (which rarely happens for me with a salad.)
Dressed has 3 locations in the Atlanta area; Midtown, Buckhead and Perimeter.
Not Worth It – I just paid $10 for a huge bowl of iceberg lettuce and 5 bites of chicken. The southwest salad was a total disappointment, and inferior in every way to Chick-fil-a's $6 version. I enjoyed the cheese that Dressed used, but that was it. The toppings (corn, jalapeno, cheese and chicken) were included in such a small quantity that I might have well have gone to Kroger and bought a head of iceberg lettuce for $2. With so many better restaurants serving high end salads, such as Fresh to Order, there's no reason for me to return to Dressed.
Love these salads – I agree with some of the reviews that the salads are a bit overpriced. But it's true you get what you pay for. The quality and variety is much better than doc greens or jason's deli, worth the extra couple bucks if you ask me. If they knocked maybe $1 or $2 off it would make a big difference though, since all the ingredients I choose seem to have an upcharge. Love the fact that they're tossed so well. Once in awhile I get one delivered to me that seems it's all lettuce and no ingredients, when I've paid $4 in upcharges, but this has only happened a couple times and I guess it depends who makes it. I recommend the avocado dressing as well as the lemon lime.
I order at least weekly, and when I go into the store Keith the manager remembers me and is always very friendly. I had to clear that up since somebody was bashing him on here. It's all about how you talk to people - I had an issue once and he corrected it with a smile.
Another design-your-own-salad arrives in Midtown, sporting free wifi and perfect get-it-and-go options. – In Short
With a shiny, Jetson's-like interior and geometric décor, this Midtown spot seems more fitting for a futuristic cocktail than earthy greens. But folks flock to this happy salad palace for their ridiculous number of potential salad combinations come lunch time. Those shying away from the mind-boggling number of toppings and dressings can order a chef-designed salad, neatly-packaged in a giant plastic to-go bowl. Wraps and homemade soups provide healthy pick-em-up alternatives while the homemade cookies defeat the purpose, yet are oh-so-good.
Are you kidding? Amazing Salads!!!!! – I read the last posting and had to laugh out loud. Dressed really is one of the best choices for a fast, healthy and reasonable lunch in Midtown. I eat at Dressed a few times a week and have yet to spend over $10 for a salad. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and the service is top notch. Arguably the best salad that I've ever had. It's not by chance that they were voted best salad in Atlanta by Atlanta Magazine.
Pros: so much parking, beautiful space and incredible salads
Way over priced! – I never do reviews, but feel compelled to respond to my lunch yesterday. You cant order a salad here under $10. They trick you with a base price of $6, then charge you for everything. The quality of the toppings were sub par. The salad dressings (i tried two) were not great. Although, portions were large. But it was still a mediocre salad at best for $10. I left hungry, feeling ripped off. I am sorry to have to write this, but maybe they should be more concerned about the quality of the salads and not how midtown hip they can be.
The Perfect Salad Place – Friendly staff is waiting to greet you every time. Your order is prepared right in front of you while you choose your ingredients. I have been many times for lunch and I've not been disappointed yet. I often introduce friends and co-workers to "The Salad Place" and every person has been impressed. When I have the salad delivered (for only $1) many coworkers compliment the size and appearance of the salad. Although the salads are a little pricey, you are guaranteed a product that is fresh; full of toppings (so when you get to the bottom you are not just eating lettuce), and there is so much you will be full. Finally there is not tip line on your credit card receipt or tip jar (gas money for the crew). I like the fact that you do not feel obligated to pay more for a service that should be incorporated into the price originally.
Terrible, Avoid – Thanks Lawyer, can I send you the bill? I ordered Aged Balsamic Vinegar but it wasnt a dressing, it was just straight vinegar so it was not what I expected. They wanted me to get back in line and charge me for a different salad dressing. Charging me is fine but no need to be rude and abusive to a customer. The quality was slimey and the bacon "pieces" were huge and chewey, obviously old. I am very sorry that I went here. The salad wasn't worth it. I can get the same ingredients at Kroger and have salad all week for that price!
