Everything in this adorably girly store and nail spa is literally good enough to eat. Try not to dig your teeth into soaps that looks like cupcakes, bundt cakes, and everything kind of flavorful think your inner girly-girl wants to be surrounded by. There are mani/pedi stations in the back, fun bath salts, accessories, makeup and pretty much anything you need for to gift everyone from the bachelorette to you best friend.
never again – Overpriced and service is below average. It took the technicians about an hour and a half to do a manicure, and it wasn't even good work. All of my friends commented that it was one of the WORST manicures they have ever had in Chicago. You should go to Pinky's down the street - cheaper, quicker and the manicure lasts forever! Plus the service at Mojo is very unprofessional.
As for the products, the purses and necklaces are below average. You might as well shop at Francesca's on North and Damen or Lori's on Armitage and Halsted. Much better selection and GREAT PRICES.
they have this "private room" for parties for an additional cost, but it is claustophobic, open to the public and dirty. I had to clean down the tables, as well as even "fluff" the pillows on the couches. be aware that it is not very private, and you can only have about 5 people in the area AT MOST. Parking is nearly impossible in this area, and if you get a meter.....you will be running out to put quarters in there cause they take forever to do your nails. The plus side is that they did provide free coffee and tea.
For the beauty products, my girlfriend bought the martini candle/lotion combo, and she said it was below average and a rip off.
Overall there are better spots to get your nails done, shop for accessories and even have a party. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Customer Service for Scheduling appts is lacking – I wanted so much to go back to Mojo again and again. I went there for the PJ party on a Friday with 3 other friends. The food was okay. The DJ was great. Manicures were fine. The staff was friendly. I left thinking I will come back again!
When I called to make an appt for 4 friends on a Sunday a few months later, I was told I could only make a reservation for 2. When I asked why I didn't get a clear answer. Then I said I was confused, what if two friends called separately? "No, (How would he know?) We have to make sure we are getting a broad clientelle." I have no idea what that means. My friends are not clones of each other. If anything I bring 4 friends they bring 2 later. The conversation was frustrating and we went around in circles for a good 10 minutes. He even asked if I had been there before. I said yes. I thought at that point he would make an exception to keep my business. But NO. His answer did not change so I decided to give up. I was actually trying to just get off the phone! But he kept on. He actually offered 2 appts for one friend at 11:00 and an appt for 1 friend at 1:00pm! I was like that doesn't work there are FOUR of us and we want to go together. The ONLY choice I had to make apts for FOUR PEOPLE was to rent out the whole place. Gimme a break!
I had a friend just get off the phone with them now feeling frustrated.
They have a great idea, now if they could only get their scheduling together to accommodate. If the place isn't big enough for 4 people to come at once then just say that. Or how about we have 4 slots open for a pedicure at 2:00pm, then just fill the appts up like other places do. Why they limit small groups is still unclear to me. I can understand a big party of 10 or 15 might be overwhelming, but 4?
I hope they work out the kinks. Until then I will go somewhere else.
Editorial Review – Treatments are good enough to eat at this girly girl's nail salon: chocolate masks, sugary scrubs and truffle soaks.
