One of a Kind – Went to the store last year during a NYC visit. The personalized customer service is outstanding. The unique designs were spectacular. I received many compliments on what I bought from the store by people in my local area.
So glad to hear you found what you wanted and that the designs made you feel unique! That's what we aim for as much as possible.
Leather Destination – A buddy of mine recomended this place since he knows my appreciation for aviation and military apparel. I came in specifically for the Kamamikaze t-shirt after checking out their website, but once in the store I left with an entire outfit. The t-shirt was even better in person than on the website. The customer service was amazing, unlike many other stores arround the neighborhood. I also found my favorite sneakers brand, PFflyers, after so many years, I left with a pair of Bob Cousy from the movie Sandlot as well as the 1970's style Glides. I was impressed with the outside brands they carried like the organic henlys from Alternative and the Australian brand Kakadu. I will return to Cockpit to purchace one of their authentic US Airforce A-2 jackets. Hopefully this time I will only leave with the one item but who knows their stuff it's great so I might be tempted for something else.
Thanks for such a complete and interesting note! We look forward to having you back. You'll go crazy for the incredible offer of boots from Palladium, Wolverine, Danner, Corcoran... this Fall! And don't forget to tell your female friends about the offering of women's leathers.
Great Find! – I stumbled across this store last week walking down Broadway just North of Houston. It's easy to miss, but I'm very glad I stopped in to take a look. The store has one of the most interesting and creative visuals and merchandising i've seen in New York. They have an amazing contempory brand called CPT alongside old vintage military inspired leather jackets. I purchased a pair of their CPT Chambrey shorts for this season and they are one of the best pairs of shorts I own to date. The customer service was spot on and even the music was enjoyable. If you haven't checked out this store yet, I would highly recommend it!
Glad you didn't miss the store...I know it's hard to find us. Our shorts have been on fire this past season and we expect our pants coming next!
Best Leather in NYC – The Cockpit store is by far one of the most unique boutiques in New York. The apparell has a classic military style, with authentic detail. This is the only place in new york that you can get a military style "D.I." shirt emblazoned with authentic military patches. The store is the official supplier of leather for the U.S. Airforce, so it is the only place in the world that you can purchase an official U.S. military bomber jacket. The leather is by far the most impressive aspect of the Cockpit brand, they have jackets with researched detail, my personal favorite was their "vietnam era" G-1, the jacket apparently was based on an authentic altered U.S. navy leather that actually served in the Gulf of Tonkin. The jacket features authentic squadron and ship patches, as well as a hand painted back featuring an image of the aircraft carrier on which the jacket served. There is also a full selection of women's leather, including an amazing jacket based upon the leather that Ameilia Earhart made famous. This is by far my favorite store, and it's only in New York!!
what more can I add....thanks for such a vote of confidence. Wait till we have our "boot shop" upstairs starting in early October. You'll find the best of the best from Wolverine, Palladium, Danner, Vintage, Timberland and Corcoran...
Great Shop , must have seen if you are in NY – We arrived from Germany only to buy the Movie Heroes Top Gun Jacket and it was great in the store, the quality of the jacket is very good and the people in the Store are very friendly. Great selection not only in Leather Jackets also the shirts are good.
Thanks Marcus! Very kind of you. Come back to see us soon.
Excellent web site! – Haven't had a chance to hit the store in NYC since I live in South Carolina, so I cruised the web site instead. Having been a proud owner of a US Navy "Top Gun" G-1 jacket since 1987, I like to keep up on the products this first-rate company makes. The web site is nothing short of stunning! Excellent pictures, outstanding grapics, very well organized! If the store is this good, maybe I should contemplate a trip up North....
Wow! thanks. We always feel we need to improve and we will continue to do so especially after seeing your nice comments.
Great customer service – Authentic flight leather jackets from WWII
I had some questions about one of the jackets I was thinking of buying and called the NOHO store, they are super helpful in helping me figure out the style and size.
thanks for your kind words! Look forward to any suggestions you may have or comments about the jacket if you did buy it.
The best for customer service! – I have been extremely impressed w/ this store every time I go in. They have some very unique merchandise, that you don't see in every store in the area.
As for customer service/sales help, this store is a stand-out. They are friendly, extremely helpful and do not have attitude. And, they bend over backwards to accommodate the customer.
dear Cockpit customer
I want to thank you for your nice words! Our intent was to make the store an interesting place to visit as well as to shop. We try to offer the best quality at the best prices and merchandise you may not find easily anywhere else. Where else can you find the Amelia jacket as seen in the Amelia Earhart movie next to a C45 WWII cockpit? or a Fortis watch like one worn into space by Russian cosmonauts? or a 1940s bakelite radio?
Don't miss the launch of the original Top Gun jacket mid December! MADE IN THE USA of course.
proud sponsors of
Authenticity! – This is a cool place. Nice, simple good quality gear, especially classic flight jackets!
I must have missed your review for which I thank you belatedly. Come back to see us especially as we are having a "Warbird Calendar Pin Up Girls" event on April 3, 2010 at the store! Come see the girls in the catalog and have them autograph the 2011 calendar-20% of the proceeds of the sales will go to the American Airpower Museum, a 501C3 non profit organization sponsored by Cockpit USA: www.americanairpowermuseum.org .
Stylish Jackets – Authentic aviator leather jackets! Made in the U.S.A.
Glad you noted that! We are the official supplier to the US Air Force for the leather A-2 flight jacket which is, of course, made in the USA as are about 80% of all of our outerwear-no easy thing today.
check out the web site for new items available in addition to the jackets: www.cockpitusa.com
