best food ever – I love this place and CAN NOT believe I just discovered it. It makes me wish I lived in East Nashville so I could walk there everyday to eat. THe food is just amazing. And the prices are so low in comparison to how yummy the food is! AMZING. Go there! now!

My New Favorite Place – This is the best place for lunch in Nashville, no question. I "discovered" this place when a friend took my there for lunch and immediately I loved it. The large windows, eclectic selection of tables and other decor make the place feel very unique and charming. I cannot say enough good things about their food. I have had many different things--all vegetarian--and I have never been disappointed. I especially like all their fresh vegetables in their dishes they have a delicious salad that comes with some dishes that involves cucumber, beans, tomato, etc with a wonderful light vinaigrette. I know that it is open for dinner now too but I have not been there for that yet. I have taken many people here of all types, older people, business friends, family, and all of them loved it. My mother was even trying to figure out how she could try to replicate some of the dishes. It is also very progressive with things like heirloom tomatoes which I love. I have had dessert here and it was a berry tart and it was just the best thing ever. I would not recommend taking children here as it is not really that kind of place. The staff are incredibly friendly and provide great service. The only downside is that it is probably going to keep getting more popular and it is a bit small. Otherwise, perfection.

Great Brunch – We went for brunch on Saturday, and only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. So we ordered coffee and drinks and hung out until they called us. We ordered the bread basket with 6 different spreads and it was so good! Then we got our entrees, which were all very flavorful and were made with fresh ingredients. Croissant french toast, eggs and prosciutto with arugula on tuscan bread, beef brisket with eggs and bread, and granola were all very tasty and light. The omelets and quiche looked great too. It was a good atmosphere (very European), very relaxing, especially all the natural light from the windows. You can even watch them make the meals, so you know that you are getting great service. We will definitely be back soon!

Excellent brunch – Sunday brunch was my first trip to Marche. There was a few minute wait, but it was worth the wait. The food was excellent, and the service was satisfactory. There were seven in our party, and they were able to accomodate this size party. I look forward to returning to Marche.

Great for lunch! – If you're looking for bruch, I'd skip Marche...its sister restaurant, Margot, has a much bigger and better brunch menu, but you can't beat Marche for a light weekday or weekend lunch. The food is fresh and delicious-- I have never had anything there that I did not like. The coffee (Drew's Brews) is excellent. The service is always efficient and quick, if not overly friendly. The menu changes weekly, but standouts I've had in the past are the steak sandwich, a savory goat cheese and leek tart, and the strawberry marscapone sponge cake. The soup and salads are always interesting and tasty. This is a good option for vegetarians; there is always at least one creative veggie entree on the menu. Never been there for dinner, but I hear it is good as well.

Was expecting a little more... – I'd heard great things about Marche so maybe my expectations were too high, but I was kind of disappointed after my visit today. It was Mother's Day so I'm sure it was much busier than normal but it just didn't live up to the hype. We had a 45 minute wait (understandably so) but I liked the European feel and interior and was looking forward to the food.

When we sat down I was kind of disappointed with the menu. I was hoping that a place renowned for brunch would have more brunch-type options. There was only one quiche and one omelette on the menu and then entrees like pork chop, steak/eggs, pasta, salmon, and some others. I decided on the omelette and my boyfriend decided on the quiche (since we were both in the mood for brunch). After ordering, our waitress told us they were out of the quiche listed and the replacement was a broccoli cheddar quiche. The broccoli cheddar sounded kind of ordinary so my boyfriend had to pick something else and defaulted to the same omelette that I was ordering. I wish she'd told us about the menu change when we first sat down, but was still looking forward to the food. We also ordered the salmon tartar appetizer.

Our omelets arrived, but no salmon tartar. We had to ask for it and our waitress brought it out immediately but it's a pet peeve of mine to not receive an appetizer before my meal. Both the tartar and omelets were good, but not great. Also the tartar came with only 4 pieces of toast (which really wasn't enough) so we asked for more. Our waitress asked if we wanted toast or bread and we said whatever is easier and it still took about 10 minutes for two slices of bread to get to the table. Overall, it was a less than stellar experience but I'd be willing to give Marche another visit, maybe next time for lunch or dinner.

For anyone who lives around South Nashville, I think Sofie's Bistro has a better brunch menu (Sundays only) and since I don't live in East Nashville, I'll probably stick with Sofie's for Sunday brunch.

Go with expectations lowered and you'll be fine! – Some of their things are pretty tasty (like the blt, although sometimes it's too rich), and it's good to have a place like this in East Nashville. However, the staff is annoying with their upselling, it has taken 20 minutes for me to get a take-out sandwich, and service can be either great or below average. For someone who spent most of their adult life in a city with a real restaurant scene, it continues to be a disappointment. Since there is little competition in Nashville, they get away with a lot that wouldn't fly elsewhere. If you like cheese, the cheese plate is good, but I was really disappointed to find there was only one kind of cheese offered. Come on!

If you like Rudeness......This is where you need to be.. – I first visited Marche' for my birthday as a gift from a friend-and I loved it. I planned to visit the restaurant often, the prices were affordable and the food was great. I visited the establishment the next week and it was awful. The server was rude and not very attentive. I order a dessert that was absolutely awful, it seemed to have been cooked days before it was serve-in turn I advised the waiter that I did not want it and was it possible to get something else. He had already brought the ticket and seemed to be very upset that he had to charge me .75 more cent for the difference in the price of the dessert. It seemed to me that the dessert was so old that they could spot me the 75 cent for the inconvience but they did not. As if that was not bad enough about the ticket the waiter then snatched the plate out of my hand to take back the hardened rock they called blondie. It took longer to get the dessert than to get my actual main course. The server then sent someone else to bring it to me but he followed within seconds to bring the check. We paid the check and proceeded out of the restaurant. We were then abruptly chased out of the restaurant by the General Manager. She wanted to know if everything was okay and we said yes. She then proceeds to tell us that our tip did not indicate that everything was okay. We gave a tip of 14% of the whole ticket-etiquette clearly states that you tip 15% of the price of the food not on drinks, so if we tipped 14% of the total ticket I know we were okay. I have never been disrespected in such a way. We have complained to the restaurant but no response has been given. I am telling everyone I know that if unless you want to be treated poorly do not set foot in there door. I commend the cooks because they are keeping the place open because if it was up the wait staff the place would have closed before they even opened. For a bunch of people who try to be the upper crest they surely don't know much about etiquette. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

amazing, seriously, anyone who says otherwise is crazy..... – ok. i live within walking distance of marche'. i am obsessed with it and eat there wayyy more than i should, probably 3-4 times a week. if you go around lunch and opt to get a sandwich, order a side of their "apricot chutney" they may say they don't have it, but ask for what was on the benton's country ham sandwich. IT WILL MAKE YOUR SANDWICH THE TASTIEST THING YOU'VE EVER HAD IN YOUR LIFE. this is serious. write that down....apri-cot chut-ney....amazing. every waiter/waitress is fun and friendly and ready to help you in any way...i really love it...also i see famous people sometimes if you're into that sort of thing.....anyway, it's awesome...i eat there enough to know. it's consistently delicious/amazing/fun/relatively inexpensive
