Grateful – I finished my yoga teacher training at Joschi in the summer and can't thank Joschi and Monika enough for the experience and the knowledge they gave us, putting their heart and soul and all their energy into us. I was well prepared when I walked into my first audition, hearing in the back of my head: 'keep it simple' :) The feedback I got throughout the training was constructive and helped me understand where my my strengths and weaknesses are. It was a deeply emotional journey for me, but the Joschi Team was so supportive. Perfect mix of personalities to show you if only you stay true to yourself, you are going to be just fine. Fantastic Program!! I can be a easily distracted at times and the strong German structure was the perfect environment for me. Thank you, I hope one day I'll be part of the Joschi Team and be able give back!

Zero Stars for Teacher Training Program – Yes, the program is cheap but please remember the saying, "You get what you pay for" - it applies to this program.

Set aside a little more money and go to a different studio for your teacher training. It will be well worth an extra money to get certified with a different program.

Email and conversations prior to obtaining my credit card information were friendly. After charging the non-refundable teacher training fee, the attitudes of the owners, Joschi and Monika, changed severely. As fast as that card was swiped, the look of pleasure turned to disgust.

The training manuals lacked many of the poses that we were studying and that we were supposed to use (honestly, I got more information online and could have done an online course for like $300 bucks and had more help).

When I DID look at more yoga information online I found that many of their manual pages had been taken directly off of online sites (sites which are copyrighted, hello- plagiarism, they didn't even bothering to change wording or punctuation or attempt to hide that it was ripped off). And yes, they have THOSE SAME pages in their manual copyrighted FOR THEMSELVES at a later date.

One day I listened (with several other students) while Joschi screamed at a woman who had come to him with a scheduling conflict. The next day he had a personal conversation with her during our final practicum- IN FRONT OF ALL OF US. It was completely awkward and inappropriate and more importantly- unprofessional.

Speaking of unprofessional, one evening an owner had a conversation with our group about her disgust for the behavior of one of her teachers, then admitted that she hadn't actually addressed it with this teacher. Teachers in training shouldn't hear about studio gossip and especially if it is an issue with someone who works in the studio.

No syllabus was given for our last month of teacher training. Perhaps this doesn't sound like a big deal but for those of you who really know yoga, you know you shouldn't eat for a couple hours prior to an asana class- hard to do when you never know if you are going to take a 2 hour Master class or not! It was hard to set aside time in busy schedules for papers and other assignments when we never knew what was coming until we were in the midst of it. Anyone Type A, first born, or simply busy will find this frustrating.

I did not receive feedback on my teaching until the last week of the program (many other students complained of this problem as well).

The open book anatomy test that we had 4 days to work on took over 20 hours. This is not because I'm an idiot, it's because it wasn't written in understandable English. I'm all for people coming to the U.S. (they are from Germany) but please, if you are going to test English speakers, the test needs to be written in correct English. (I would never go to Germany and create a test without having a native German proof the exam.) When this issue was brought to Joschi's attention he blew it off and said, "Anatomy is just difficult." I agree, but it's manageable. Having an anatomy test in questionable English makes if nearly impossible.

A bigger issue than the language problem (with the test) is that once they were turned in we never got the tests back so we were unable to learn from our mistakes. This is especially problematic in a teacher training program.

For those of you who think I may just be sensitive- I can tell you I have had teachers in the past who have been total jerks- but have been great teachers. The difference here is the teaching quality, not the attitude.

If I could give a zero star rating I would do so.

This place is wonderful! – Joschi Yoga is what got me hooked on yoga. I tried yoga a couple times before and really didn't get into it (too slow, didn't think I got much of a workout). The classes here changed my mind. The studios are nice and clean, and there are always mats, bricks, etc., available. My only wish is that they had more classes. A lot of good instructors, a great vibe and friendly people! I just signed up for another set of classes with the super friendly front desk and I can't wait to go back.

Thank You! – I just finished my teacher training at Joschi Yoga Institute and am so happy that I chose this school. It is so obvious that you care and enjoy creating and seeing your students through the process. Thank you Joschi and Monika for putting all your energy into this program and preparing us to be confident teachers. You will see me again, soon :)

Unpleasant teacher – Joschi seems to be a good teacher, but he also seems to be an unpleasant egomaniac. When I was in a class, someone in the back of the room picked up her phone and looked at it. That was maybe not so polite, but Joschi

Best, hands down! – Yoga haters and yoga lovers alike can rejoice at this progressive studio. I don't have enough good things to say! From the anatomically focused vinyasa flow to the fun teachers, all emcompassed by a gorgeous yet simple studio... there's just too much to go crazy about! For beginners and experienced yogis alike, the practice here will be challenging and exciting. They even have a

yoga4men class for those in doubt about the credibility of yoga as a workout. Visit the studio and experience an anatomical awakening you won't regret, I promise!

3-Month Teacher Training – This is a teacher training which offers an in-depth experience under flexible terms for a very competitive rate. The teachers are all very good and the environment is fun. With the location being quite busy, the studio offers a different component of discipline when compared to an obviously tranquil environment; however, it works. This studio offers an experience that can turn into whatever your would like it for based on the diverse experience of the teachers. Thank you, Joschi, Monika and all of your great teachers.

knowledgeable teachers, beautiful classes! – Each teacher is slightly different which gives this small, modern Manhattan Studio a lot of variety as far as classes go.

Joschi has a strong background in anatomy, Sarah can make you smile through any challenging Asana...

The teacher training program is as affordable as they come and rewarding beyond words. There is so much to learn and the teachers here are full of knowledge and open and willing to share. There is a strong spirit of support and encouragement here. The teachers push you just enough to reach your potential and are always there to remind you to be present and enjoy your experience.

Check this place out, there is something for everyone!

It is located on 23rd in Chelsea closest to the F train but also only about a half a block from the 1 and two blocks from the A,C,E.

Good Stuff! – If you like diversity, challenge, and yoga with a more "dancey" feel this studio is for you. The rooms are awesome with tons of windows, and they really know how to use lights to create a perfect ambience. The diversity of teachers and knowledge that these teachers bring to each class is awe-inspiring!! It's a small enough studio that you really can easily cultivate relationships between teachers and owners. It's definitely an amazing studio, I highly recommend it!
