JEANNA! – Jeanna is the absolute best; there's not even a second best. She used to live and work in San Antonio and that's where I first started seeing her. When she moved to Austin I followed. Now I drive 1 1/2 hours to have my nails done, and I wouldn't even CONSIDER trying to find someone locally. Why bother? She's also fun and sweet and I enjoy my time with her. And my polish stays on! I'm almost afraid to publish this because I don't want her to get so busy I can't get in....
Jeanna must be the only good nail tech there – I had went to polish recently and was very dissapointed. For the price it isn't what it is hyped up to be. It is a mediocre pedicure for the price. It could just be the girl that I had because when I see all the other reviews on this site everyone raves about Jeanna. I didn't have her. If I do go here again because I have an extra $50 to spend I guess I will go to Jeanna. The other girl didn't give me a very good massage and she didn't file my toenails right even after I said couple of times how I like it. When I had asked her about the new in colors she didn't have any input. She wasn't very conversational either even though I had tried to initiate conversations. Overall it wasn't a very stimulating pedicure.
Jeanna is the best nail tech I have ever been to! – All I can say is OMG! Jeanna is amazing. I live in Leander and drive 50 minutes to go see this incredible woman as much as I can. Jeanna makes me feel and look like a million bucks evey time I come in. She makes the hair on my neck stand up when she rubs my feet and legs. Jeanna makes you feel like you are apart of her family. She does however insist on picking the color that she claims is NOT AN OLD LADY COLOR :-) Ha Ha
It's clean, fun, friendly, and well worth the $$$.
Not all that it is hyped up to be. – I went to have a pedicure and I have to be honest it truly wasn't what I had expected. The service isn't exceptional at all. You can get the same services and customer service at a less expensive place. The massage that I got was third rate at best. I have to say the one good thing is that they nail color selection was fantastic. The water was lukewarm, the chairs were uncomfortable ( no massage chairs here). I wasn't impressed at all. I will probably never come here again for what you get for the price they are charging. It isn't that it is expensive it's just that for the same price you can go to a really nice spa/salon and get better service.
We really do take all suggestions and criticisms seriously and attempt to make changes where appropriate. And we welcome an opportunity to resolve any issues that a client may have before they leave the salon. That being said, please feel free to let us know during your visit if the water is not a comfortable temperature or if the massage pressure isn?t firm enough ? everyone has different comfort levels, and we would love the chance to make your experience enjoyable while you?re here so speak up. As for the chairs, we chose vintage, mid-century Tulip chairs as a complement to our ?futuristic-looking? pipeless pedi tubs. And we chose pipeless technology because we believe superior hygiene is more important than a bulky, vibrating massage chair with pipes that retain water between clients. All of our tubs? components are thoroughly cleaned between clients to remove all bath residue and prevent bacterial growth, infection, and cross-contamination, unlike whirlpool (or piped) pedi tubs.
Worst Pedicure of my life!! Don't go here, you will be disapointed. Avoid the new girl. – Absolutely the worst pedicure of my life!! Don't go!!! I went for a pedicure last week and I was so majorly disapointed!!! I had heard of polish by driving by it one day. I looked it up and it had such great reviews so I decided to give it a try. The so called spa inside is mediocre, they have a great selection of nail colors. You can't really see the colors they are inside of a cabinet with no good lighting. The chairs that you sit in are very uncomfortable. The girl that I had was horrible!!! She didn't talk to me the whole time. There was no t.v. or atleast music it was just silence and listening to the other ladies conversation. The girl had asked me if I wanted the spa pedicure instead of the essential pedicure. With the spa pedicure it comes with a sea salt scrub and callus work. The girl didn't even do a spa mask because the container that was on her shelf was to caked and hard that she couldn't break it up so she grabbed a lotion from the manicure table and did that to me instead. When she massaged my feet it she did it like she was massaging a baby's bottom, it was so ridiculous!!! She did absolutely no callus work at all or even pumiced it. I couldn't believe it. No hot towels or anything, After she dried my feet there was a piece of hanging dead skin, I know this sounds disgusting but this is what they do. If it was the asian place they would have cut if off with no hesitations!! I will never go there again. It was absolutely the worst pedicure of my life!!!! For $40 it is most definately not worth it!! Go to the asian place they actually massage your feet and give you the hot towels, and not to mention have the massaging chairs. I was mad for 2 days.
Our small family here always strives to ensure that our clients have a great experience, and we apologize that ours didn?t live up to your standards. To that end, we?d like to mention that our spa pedi doesn?t include a spa mask. We?ve tried to clarify that in the description. It does include callous work with a foot file (not pumice as it?s unsanitary) and a sugar scrub (not a salt scrub as salt can irritate skin with even the slightest abrasions). We assure you that we aren?t trying to skimp clients by denying them a topical mask and a hot towel wrap; these products don?t offer moisturizing effect or any benefit that promotes the foot?s lasting health.
We?re sorry you weren?t offered a pillow to make your experience more comfortable; most of our clients love our vintage Tulip chairs.
As a boutique nail salon, we take our clients? happiness seriously and seek to make improvements where they can be made (ensuring the music is always playing). On your next visit we?ll make it righ
Always happy after a visit to Polish! – I have been to Polish many times since it opened and have always been very happy. I've tried a couple other places in Austin over the past few years and always come back to Polish because the service is just plain better. If it was in my budget, I'd be there once a week. They've been accomodating when I've called for last-minute appointments and are always friendly and professional. My most recent visit (for a mani/pedi) was with Jeanna, and she was fabulous. Very skilled, great personality, and great at helping select a color. Polish is hands-down my favorite place in Austin for a mani/pedi.
Won't go anywhere else! – I've been going to Polish for almost a year now, and I LOVE IT. Great service, immaculately clean and sanitized, along with friendly, English speaking staff. They know me by name and always have my glass of red wine waiting for me before I come through the door. No more chop shops for me!
NOT worth the wait – After a HALF HOUR WAIT [that's with an appointment, folks], the tech. began my pedi... When it came time for the manicure, one tech. said to the other she wouldn't have time to do my nails because another client was scheduled in just five minutes.
In other words, it was okay that I waited for nearly half an hour, but they couldn't finish MY nails because they didn't want the next person to wait.
WHAT's UP WITH THAT?
Needless to say I won't be back to Polish.... even with an appointment, I had to wait for half an hour AND they had the nerve to tell me they simply couldn't do my manicure....
In their defense, they did offer to give me a whopping $2 off a manicure IF I came back that week.... now that's incentive.... [not!]
Chairs are very uncomfortable; water from cooler smelled and tasted like mold; techs gossiped about other people who had worked there the ENTIRE time I was there.
Try it, I promise you'll like it – I've been trying nail salons for 10 years in Austin, always looking for the best. I had a place and girl 2 years ago, the best I've ever had... My standards are very high due to that. Now, I've found Polish. Gina I went to, well, I saw good reviews about her and went. She's great. Very very professional, great to talk to, and the Mani's LAST! Such a big deal. Sorry for the person who had a bad experience, but you have to go at least twice before you can write a bad review... Recommend everyone try them. See you Friday Gina!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Polish Nail Spa! – I can't say enough wonderful things about Polish Nail Spa!
I have been going here since it first opened. I work downtown and was so excited to see a reasonably priced nail salon within a close distance to my office. The staff is warm, friendly and always remembers me. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxing.
I ALWAYS receive compliments on my nails after leaving. Actually, the nail techs always recommend colors that are stylish for the season.
Please go - you will not be disappointed!
