Awesome Salon! – Fantastic stylists, hottest salon in the valley.
Sarah Bailey ROCKS my hair! – I went to Sarah at Salon True and we discussed what I was looking for, it's been about 15 yrs of the same long curly hair, nothing really new. She listened to what I wanted, gave me suggestions (thank GOD she talked me out of the really really short cut!!) and gave me exactly what we talk about and I love it so much better than even the picture in my head!!!! I have already recommended her to several friends. The salon is nice and clean, the front desk girls were also very nice and polite.
Arrogant Owner- doesn't listen to client's needs – I had my hair cut by one of the owners, Elia. He did not listen to what I wanted but instead chose to cut my hair how he felt was best, which left me with a flat, shredded, uneven cut. My hair went from wash-and-go to extremely unmanageable, devoid of style. Elia is extremely arrogant and believes his skills and techno style salon far surpass any other salon the valley has to offer.
Sarah Rocks! – I recently got a men's haircut at Salon True and Sarah was Amazing! I had an old looking style and I felt like I was on one of those make over shows. I left looking and feeling great! I usually have to come home after a haircut and make some "personal" adjustments, trim a little here and there but she NAILED IT!! She rocks and I highly recommend her. Sarah rules!
So glad I found Louis Sorno – I have been going to Louis Sorno for a while and WOW he is amazing!! I lost touch with Louis for a few years and went to 2 or 3 different stylist and it just wasn't the same. I just cant say enough good things. Color and Cut along with a great heart. Ive missed him, good to be be back. I recommend Louis for a great experience.
Little Attitude but Love Louis – Got referred to this salon by a friend. The person she actually recommended was not available so they suggested Louis Sorno. He's a real New Yorker! With a heart of gold. Great cut and color. Does it all himself so you're not actually getting your color done by an assistant, which has happened to me before in these big salons. I think Louis is great and open to your ideas. He listens and doesn't let you leave until you are happy! Book Louis today....he's the bomb.
LA Hair Attitude In Valley – It's a very nice place. A bit 'cliche L.A.', but that's not a shocker. There are some excellent stylists. Alex does amazing work, and the owners Elia and Mark are very modern cutters) The ambiance is chic and friendly, if a bit heavy on the techno feel, and a little light on the amenities, but they do good work. I'd suggest you steer clear of Louis (color + cut), unless you wish to re-live the edgy 1980's vibe, of runny noses and constant phone interruptions, if you catch my drift. He's moderately talented but not worth the bad energy. (Think 'Ari Gold' meets Ami Winehouse, in the body of a paunchy, middle-aged New Yorker.) My mistake was allowing him as a sub. Stick with the upscale stylists there.
Those working in reception are real gems. Very warm people. There are some real artists working here. Yeah, the parking can be a nightmare, but just choose your appointment times wisely, and you'll be fine.
nice salon – My sister went two weeks ago and had hair cut with Elia she loved it and I went on Friday to experience as well Wow! I finally walk in a salon and looks cool ,
Hip Modern and I had very good experience
Very sharp guy he knows What he is doing
good service and very nice assistant,
Now I do not have to drive over the hills again to cut my hair
Great Blowout, but cut was a little off. Too bad. – I just moved to Sherman Oaks from Orange County and had to find a new salon. True looked like a nice and clean salon so I decided to make an appointment with the owner Elia. I was a little disappointed because it took me quite some time to find parking. They don't have a parking lot or valet. I had to park in a meter that was a little far. He ran behind schedule and I ended up staying over my 2 hour limit for a haircut which got me my first parking ticket since moving from the O.C. My hair cut looked great when I left the salon. After I washed it and let my curls go, I realized that my cut was a little uneven and my hair feels very thin. I'm not sure what happened during the cutting process. I think the cut isn't right for my curly hair. I wasn't too excited about him using a flat iron on my beautiful curls. He might be ok with straight hair, but my curls didn't like his technique.
Oh well. It's usually fun trying new salons, but this wasn't an experience I would recommend. I'm sorry to write a negative review, but my friend suggested I should express my feelings so other girls would know about the salon. I'm on the search for a good local salon. Help !
Sophisticated yet approachable! – From the moment I walked in the door to the second I left not only did I get Billion Dollar Hair I got a Billion Dollar Experience. The atmosphere was hip and sophisticated yet approachable. The receptionist, Richard had a sweet boyish charm. Joshua's shampoos are amazing! My stylist Mark catered to my every need! He took interest in my concerns and created an amazing look for me! Clean robes and fresh coffee, I felt like a goddess! Thank you Salon True!
