I would NOT recommend.... – ***BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR BILL! We came to Dukes with a large group of people- HUGE mistake.***

At the beginning, we showed a 15% discount, which we were told would be honored. Dukes gave us two waitresses, and each waitresses gave us different information. One told us that we could still order happy hour priced appetizers, and after the order was put in, the other said that we were paying full price for the food. We tried to cancel, but the first waitress brought our food anyway. Then, we were ordering pitchers, which we were told by one waitress were $10 each.

The waitresses were also really pushy about making us order more drinks when we told them what we wanted to order. It was extremely annoying.

Of course, the bill comes and the pitchers were $15 each, the appetizers were full price and they didn't give us the 15% off. There were burgers and drinks on there that I know we did not order, but the waitresses blamed that food on our friends that had already left so there was no one to dispute. I probably should have fought it more, but there shouldn't have been anything to fight.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, especially since the food is also sub par. There are a lot better places where you can watch sports and eat good food.

Bartender a WITCH & added more $ tip AFTER i signed credit – The bartender was a complete witch and laughed when other patrons at the bar made racial comments about my friends. She is definitley one of those bitter old gals behind a bar who hates prettier women. Then, when my bank statement came, she added and EXTRA ten dollars to her tip that I DID not authorize- I had to call my bank to investigate and everything. To top it all of, this flabby little wench didn't even know how to make a proper drink. With teh amount of bars in NYC, there is NO NEED RTO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE!

A little bit of America, right here in New York! – In mainland America it might be an ordinary BBQ roadhouse. Ribs, hotsauce bottles, Blondes. But in New York, that's makes it a novelty. (Everybody knows America is CAMP to New Yorkers.) Thursdays was $10 Stella pitcher night. We had enough of 'em for Kaitlin, the fine Managress, to give us one on the house. The

BarBeQue was pretty good, though a $14.00 hamburger is a bit steep. The only disappointment was that, though there were dozens of hot sauces to choose from, none of them were REALLY hot. It's a minor complaint though. The place seems to always have tables for a spontaneous night on the town. The staff is accommodating, and friendly. We'll be back! --Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers

Best Spot For Sunday football! – Met up with some friends at Dukes on Sunday to watch football- The place was full of energy and the waitresses were really cute and attentive. All the games were on and the manager was really good about accommodating us semi rowdy football fans, depending on which games we wanted to see. With any pitcher or bucket of beers, you get ? price wings- we definitely ate and drank our moneys worth! Already made my reservation for this Sunday!!! P.S I also recommend the Egg Burrito Grande off the brunch menu!

Crawling critters under our table... – The critters were the tip of the iceberg at this joint. The staff was unattentive, the manager was not available to listen to our complaints. The waitress said, "what do you expect, it's summer time in NYC." The food was fair and the experience a mess! Never again, especially the big critters crawling under our table!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!! STALE FOOD – This place is aweful. THe waitresses are so miserable, and they take their misery out on you!! The staff appears generally annoyed to be there, are unfriendly, slow, and not AT ALL helpful. They spend all thier time lounging around complaining to eachother. We couldn't get our waitress to come over to us for half an hour, but she was at the bar complaining with 4 other waitresses and bartenders the whole time. WHen we finally had to get up and politley ask her to take out order, she actually rolled her eyes, glared at us, looked at the other staff and laughed, before slowly stomping over to us!The food is below average, the bread was rock hard, and everything else tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Overall nothing but a purely negative experience, save yourself the annoyance of stopping in here.

Best atmosphere in the city, really friendly staff, Great food! – Went to Dukes last Friday June 20th with my boyfriend, my sister, her husband, and their 2 kids. The place was filled with great fun energy! There were all kinds of people (families, older couples, guys in suits, a table of pre bachelor party guys, a few ?girl?s night out? groups). It was like a toned down more mature Brother Jimmys and a more comfortable and friendly Wildwood. The staff was so friendly and seemed to really like their jobs. The waitress was very accommodating to the kids and made sure there food came out first. They had a special on $2.50 Bud Light pints, I ended up going for the Dukarita (Delicious!) The manager brought over balloons for the kids- they were so excited. She then brought some over to the bachelor party, it was really funny! Everyone was singing along and dancing to the fun music (Skynard, Aerosmith, Grease, Michael Jackson, Supremes, everything!) The food came in huge portions for the prices. I definitely recommend the southwest ceaser salad and I can?t stop thinking about the macaroni & cheese. We were going to go home after dinner, but instead sent my sister and the kids home and my boyfriend and I moved to the bar for a few more dukaritas. We ended up ordering dessert. The red velvet cake and fried cookie dough are to die for! We will definitely be frequenting this place and I highly recommend it to everyone!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE – My experience here at Duke's was just the worst. We went here for brunch on sunday. We ordered coffee, and the waitress, who was clearly miserable, brought our 2 coffees and about 3 tiny drops of milk. I put that in my coffee and it wasn't even noticable, plus there was nothing for my boyfriend. We flagged down the annoyed looking waitress again to ask her if she could please bring us more milk, and a spoon, when she had a chance (no silverware) She looked even more annoyed and says, "We're out of spoons and milk. Somone went to the store to get more milk." and walked away. We were a bit surprised, considering it was sunday brunch and they had no milk and no spoons?? Whatever, we went with it and ordered. We waited over 10 minutes with our nearly black coffees sitting in front of us, without any notice from the waitress, apologies, nothing. I could have been to the store and back by now with some milk and a spoon! Little Ms. Pleasent came by again and dropped an incredibley stale basket of mini muffins on our table, and I asked her if she happened to know how much longer the milk might be, and she rolled her eyes and simply said "no" I told her I'd rather have a glass of soda then please. She looked appalled, looked at my coffe and said, "you have milk in there already. You can't just drink it like that?" We said well it wasn't enough. And she said that it was enough! I said no, I can't, I'd just like a glass of soda instead. She said, "well I'll bring it, but I'm charging you for the coffee too." Um, what?? I was so confused, I said, but I didn't drink any! You have no milk and I don't like it black! She began to raise her voice and said she was still charging me for the coffee and someone would eventually be back with the milk and to just wait, and walked away. After my BF and I stared blankly at eachother in a moment of disbeliefe, we just walked out. Truly appalling experience, SO many places for brunch that don't abuse their customers out there!!

This place is off the chain. seriously. – I first started going to Duke's during the fall for football games, and I've been going back ever since. Duke's on 37th is consistent with the vibe of the Murray Hill Neighborhood, it's a great place for young people looking to have fun in an unpretentious environment (and settle a hangover with some greasy food). It has a very laid-back, fun environment. Great place to kick back and have some drinks and watch sports, not to mention the smoking hot waitresses don't hurt either. If you're looking for something swanky and trendy, this is not the place; but if you want to have a rowdy time with the boys, while simultaneously enjoying a staff of eye candy and comfort food, you should really check it out. (Just a tip: keep an eye out for the tan girls, Tess and Jess rock).
