New name, same great food – Having eaten there several times before with my fiancee we were very nervous to see the name had changed. That is the only thing that has, fans of the food will not be disapointed still great food and service. Got to love those cheesesteaks!!!
perfect place to chill, eat & drown out your work blues – i try and NEVER venture above 14th street for anything except work, but someone took me to this place the other night and we had *such* a fun time. the staff is friendly, the vibe is chill and cool with the perfect balance between pub & restaurant, the jukebox is great (who doesn't love to hear songs they've chosen themselves?!) and the food is ridiculously delicious. our table ordered cheesesteaks, fries and burgers and everything was perfectly done. definitely going back soon!!

Don't be surprised to hear South Philly accents echoing in the box-like waiting area that serves as the pick-up point for the restaurant's gigantic sandwiches. Stools line the space, with pickles and truly hot peppers about the only adornment that matters to a hungry group of Midtowners.
The cheese steak is the first thing listed on the menu for a very good reason. The thick, chewy bread cradles a mound of fresh-cut steak that oozes with one's cheese of choice--American, Cheese Wiz, sharp provolone or mild provolone--and the combination is heaven for the sandwich's devotees. The roast pork Italian, a generous serving of pork that's cut with provolone and broccoli rabe is another favorite. Less rewarding is the chicken cutlet supreme, which tastes more like a regular hoagie with mayo and sandwich fixings piled on top. Try the Italian fries for a zesty side.
Somewhat disappointed – This joint definitely has a decent cheesesteak sandwhich. It's far better than anything else north of Philly. However, I was somewhat underwhelmed with the flavor of the basic hoagie. Really the fault lies with the preparation. The ingredients were all of high quality, but the meat needs to be seasoned--a little salt and pepper go a long way. In all honesty, I think I made a better cheesesteak at home, following a Food Network recipe. It was far less greasy, but even more flavorful. Come on guys--pick up that salt and pepper.
It's what you'd expect – Let's not kid ourselves; this place makes a damn fine cheese steak. Really, the addition of the broccoli rabe is amazing. But let's also not kid ourselves on the other point. You could scrape a spoon across the bread and come up with enough oil to fry a chicken in. If you don't mind sucking down a bottle of canola oil with your food, this place is awesome. Oh yeah, try the fries too.
Best Cheesesteak in NY & NJ!!!!! – I was on my my way to Port Authority and starving. I stumbled upon Tony Luke's and was blown away with the service and the food. I have not had a cheesesteak that I considered great until today. Absolutely the best I have had in 10 years!!!
Not only was the food great but I was able to have a beer, watch ESPN and had great service. I will be back!!!
BEST CHEESESTEAK EVER!!! – WE'LL LET ME JUST LET YOU KNOW THAT I EAT A CHEESESTEAK EVEYRDAY!!! I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH..THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT..AND NOW THAT THEY HAVE RENOVATED THE PLACE...IT NOW HAS A BAR..TV'S AND GREAT SERVICE....NOW U CAN ENJOY A NICE GAME...HAVE A BEER AND HAVE THE SAME AMAZING FODD!!!
Best Philly Sandwiches right here in NYC! – As a New Yorker that loves a good Philly Cheesesteak, I am in heaven knowing that the best Philly style sandwiches are right here in NYC! Last year, I travelled to Philadelphia by bus just to eat a cheesesteak so I am definitely a cheesesteak afficianado. Having tried Pat's King of Steaks, Jim's Steaks in Philly and Carl's Steaks in Midtown (all of which were excellent), Tony Luke's beats them all! I had the cheesesteak with wiz and the roast pork w/mozarella. Both sandwiches were made to order, very juicy, great cuts of meat, generous portions, perfect hero bread. Loved the cheesesteak but the roast pork sandwich was #1 in my book.
Best in NY by far – - Trust me I lived in Philly for years and nothing else in the city compares
Best Sandwiches In NYC By Far – Growing up Philly, I was surprised to hear that my favorite sandwich shop had opened in NYC. After tasting a cheese steak, the roast pork italian, and chicken cutlet italian, i was shocked! They all had the same delicious taste as the Original Tony Lukes on Oregon Ave in Philadelphia. The only thing missing was the accents of the employees when they yell out your order. There is nothing even close to Tony Lukes in NYC! I highly recommend this place.
