Avoid the weekend; beware of the smoke! – Recently, our family, spent one night at LDL. It was a weekend and so the hotel was crowded. It is a nice facility and I think they want to project a Vegas feel. But it is not Las Vegas. The room was nice, relatively clean; however, it felt crowded. We were on the 16th floor and had a good view of the lazy pool. After we went to bed, I could hear other people talking from their rooms. The "noise" was coming through the vent.

We ate at the Jack Daniels Bar & Grill. The food was just okay. Another table had an incident where the waitress poured a glass of red wine on a customer who was wearing a white jacket. At first, I felt sorry for the waitress, and this was just an accident. After a while, I really didn't feel that sorry for her because it took a very long time for anyone (management) to get to that table and take care of that huge mess, and that poor woman standing there dripping with wine. Management did finally get to that table, and several managers later, took the woman to get her a new outfit. When my husband later asked our waitress if she was okay (it was the same waitress who spilled the wine) she said she wasn't and basically was critical of the party of people who had been inconvenienced by the spillage of the wine. Accidents to happen, it's how we react to them that count. I think the waitress could have been more compassionate.

However, the biggest complaint was the fact that while sitting in the restaurant, we could smell the smoke coming from the casino. It was awful. I couldn't spend anytime in the casino because of the smoke. It was just too bad. I think that when I spend $400 per night to stay at a casino, I should be able to gamble. We spend that amount at The Venetian in Vegas and I did not have any problems with the smell of smoke.
