Owner needs some manners! – Owner is a jerk with no manners and should get his facts straight before humiliating a customer in his bar!
Our party ordered dinner and drinks in the bar area. A friend and I asked for a glass of water with our meal. The waitress informed us that she was not allowed to serve us water, but there is bottled water available for purchase.
When my husband finished his dinner, I handed him 2 empty glasses that had been left on the table in case we wanted to share our pitcher of beer and asked him to go inside and get my friend and I a glass of water. A man filled up both glasses and my husband brought them back to our table.
Later in the evening, this same man, who I later learned is the owner, came out into the crowded bar and started yelling at my husband about the water. Because my Mother raised me with manners, I did not stoop to his level and yell back.
My husband had no idea that my friend and I had asked the waitress about water. My firends and I were appalled by this rudeness.
Best Fod on the Beach???????"? – Madi Gras , at the Blue Parrot was nice weather . The music was
A Dixie Land Band .But , some one should tell them never to try Cajun foods again.
The Gumbo , was terrible not soup but some chicken and Andouille on dry white rice served with a fork.
The Jambalaya was on dry white rice , In Louisiana we cook all the
Ingredients together .
When people tell me they don't like Cajun foods ,I tell them You've never had any .
Too , bad they miss opportunity to serve some
PS: there are thousand of recipes on the Internet .
And Pinellis is home to one of the Worlds best cooking schools .
Shame on you!
Blue Parrot lost it's feathers tonight – After ordering the special, seafood lasagna, it was served cold. The waitress returned it to the kitchen to be heated. When it came back to the table, the cheese was now on the bottom and burned. It was so tough that a knife could not even cut it. Tough lasagna???? Really???
The waitress was very unconcerned too. When we pointed out that there was something very hard to cut through in the lasagna, she actually took the knife and fork, poked through the food, and then said it was the cheese that could not be cut. After someone plays with my food, I do not expect to eat it. Unbelievable and unheard of. Even though the meal was not edible, FULL PRICE WAS CHARGED EVEN AFTER THE COMPLAINT!!!
I have been here before and not been too impressed but wanted to give it another try...but this is certainly my last visit and will never recommend it to my local friends or visitors.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL EATERY AND BAR – THE BLUE PARROT ON ST PETE BEACH IS IN MY LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD ON COREY HIDDEN BACK BEHIND CORE AVENUE TO THE EAST. THEY HAVE GREAT FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, AND STAFF. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VISIT TO THE BLUE PARROT IF YOUR A LOCAL OR A TOURIST VISITING.
Really enjoyed my experience at the Blue Parrot! – My friend from Austin, TX recommended that I try the Blue Parrot in St Pete beach. Her cousin lives in the area, frequently visited this establishment, and always had a great experience. So I tried it for lunch. It's a cute place, located on the water right off the Corey Causeway. Our waitress was very pleasant and provided excellent service. I thought the Carribean Spring Rolls on the menu was very unique...Chicken, Plantains, Black Beans, Cheese & Grilled Chilies with Rasberry Sauce. Within a few minutes, it arrived at the table and was delicious! I also ordered the Seafood Bisque soup and it was just as good. My friend ordered Coconut Crusted Shrimp and a Homemade Meatball Sandwich, which I understand is the owner's special recipe. My friend said that it was fantastic. But I have to say that the NY Rasberry Cheesecake was the best I've ever tasted...and I've tasted quite a few! They have specials every day of the week and live music most evenings...and what a variety of genres. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the music, in addition to the food, next time.
It's home away from home – A good place to go kick back have a drink and spend time with friends
Blue Parrot brings excellent service and food to the beach – Blue Parrot was referred to me by a client and it was the best establishment for food and entertainment that I have been to in awhile. My server was the kindness and fastest young lady whom not only was extremely knowledgeable about the menu but she seemed to really care about the guest and where she worked. She was delightful and full of energy. She recommended we try the Tuna Sashimi Salad and guess what it was delicious. To our surprise we came on a weekend and there was free music out back which is referred to as the BackYard; we later found that information on their website, The band played Southern Rock music and sounded remarkable, there was a lot of space to dance and mingle. My friends and I had the time of our lives. All in all, Blue Parrot was an outstanding restaurant and we will be frequently coming back.
Not a good experience – A local merchant recommended the Blue Parrot. When we walked in, we were met with a cloud of smoke this thick, hanging in the air, my eyes got red and irritated, they need an exhaust system.
When I asked the server if the calamari was heavily breaded, she said the calamari was awesome. Without a second thought I ordered it, the menu described it as crispy calamari served with tomato basil and orange saffron. When the appetizer arrived, it was immediately obvious that this server, named Dee , may never have had an awesome calamari appetizer in her life. Calamari rings are typically about ½ inch cuts, with a dusting of seasoned flour or a light breading fried very crispy, served piping hot with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. This calamari was cut into 1/8 inch rings, heavy breading and not very hot or crispy, served ON TOP of the marinara sauce with an orange saffron mayonnaise squirted over the top. There goes any hope of crispy. They were rubbery to boot. My friend and I picked at it, and left more than half the plate, it was awful, yet we did not complain. When the server came back to take our dinner order, she saw we did not eat much, she sarcastically said“I guess you weren’t very impressed with it”.
The cook must have trained in prison. The grouper tasted as if it had been in the freezer over a year, it was layered with black pepper on top of the soggy flour coating.
While we were disappointed with both the appetizer and the entrees, we did not make an issue, did not want to speak to the manager, we were not looking for a free meal, we just wanted a good tasting, still hot from the kitchen meal without waiting over an hour. I guess that’s too much to ask for at the Blue Parrot on Corey Circle, St. Pete Beach.
Our server Dee was very rude, she mocked my NY accent twice and made it clear, by ignoring us and making us wait for over an hour to deliver our dinner, she did not care for us in her dining room. Not to worry Dee, you’ll never see my face in your smoky dining room again. I hope you appreciated the $3 tip and I hope your boss appreciates your impact on his bottom line.
CRAPPED ON BY BLUE PARROT.. – We were looking forward to a fun evening with friends. We were the first 4 of party of 8 to arrive & seat ourselves. A frenzied server took our drink order,we requested menus & explained 4 more would join us later.Drinks came, menus weren't available. We finally received menus & placed our orders. One of our party inquired about food prep due to health issues & was reassured there would be no problem. The final 4 arrived, our server finally appeared to take their food & drink orders. It is now 30 minutes since we ordered. Here she comes with a tray of food-sorry to say she's attempting to serve us someone else's order..maybe we should have grabbed it while it was HOT!It is now 1 hour & 10 minutes later & we're still waiting for food-burgers & fries??Our frenzied server is tagged & we're told our order is coming-so's Christmas! She returns with a tray of food-for the final 4-prepared wrong & partially missing. Finally our food is served. Are silverware & napkins extra? We help ourselves to these & manager appears with attitude because we helped ourselves. The LONG awaited food was TERRIBLE!COLD BURGERS,COLD HALF COOKED FRIES,BURNED ROLLS,RATHER CHUNKS OF BREAD,special order cooked wrong,no condiments-we WAITED for THIS??We speak to the manager & he tells us it's busy,he's having a bad night; all he can do is recalculate the bill.WRONG!We ask to see the owner.Mr. Owner appears, drink in hand & attitude to match the night-TERRIBLE!We explain our dining experience & he seeks out the frenzied server. He returns, stating he will remove the food from our bill, but we're responsible for the drinks.OK.In his next breath he states that in 27 years of restaurant business he's never had an entire table complain about every meal,it's unheard of & proceeds to ask us to never return. We're not visitors-we live here & aren't in the habit of seeking free meals via complaints. The complaints were valid-service was BAD & food TERRIBLE!Not to worry Mr.Owner, WE WON'T BE BACK!!
There are better places!
