Going downhill. The wife and I had been to Brio previously and came away satisfied, until last week that is. We did the call ahead seating and they told us it would be approximately 45-50 minutes. We showed up 45 minutes later and then had to wait for another hour just to get seated. After about 10 minutes someone finally stopped by to get our drink order and told us our waitress would be over. The drink order never came. The food took forever and was lack luster compared to previous visits. Because the waitress knew the night was such a fiasco the waitress said she was sending the manager over to apologize and take something off of the bill. Well 45 minutes later some random woman walk by and asked "How's the food" and then promptly left. Turns out that was the manager. The waitress again stated that she would check the bill to see what adjustments the manager had made. When the waitress came back and gave us the bill there were no discounts. Our actual waitress was good but the overall operation and customer service seems to be on a serious decline.
Never disappointed with Brio. Would highly recommend the whole oak-roasted chicken, any of the pastas, the wedge salad, and insalata roma (my favorite). The fried calamari appetizer is delicious. Bread is fresh and warm, flatbread is amazing. The bellini and alcoholic lemonades are very tasty, too. Service is great. The Overall a great dining experience, reservations highly recommended.
Great Service, Good Food.
Upon my visit to Somerset, I stopped at Brio to get lunch. The service was very nice and the bread was nice and warm. The lobster bisque was pretty good, except that I would like a smaller portion, cup rather than a bowl.
My friend ordered a petite chicken "under the brick", a lunch portion. Though I wish there were more mushrooms and maybe a little more sauce for my taste, the chicken breast was soft and nice. The vegetables were pretty good too. I ordered Tournedo Di Manzo, a 4 oz. filet that was cooked nicely to medium rare and served with hollandaise sauce. I wish it was a little less salty but in general it was okay, the meat being good. The romano crusted tomato was also an unexpected but pleasant surprise.
I enjoyed lunch here and also the interior was cute. I'd definitely visit here again, next time to try pasta.
