Great Find – You can be in your "own" zone at this spa. It is quiet and wonderfully designed to soak, meditate, relax & rejuvenate......I loved it

Spa-goers of all ages get scrubbed and rubbed at this Japantown destination modeled after a traditional Korean bathhouse. – In Short
At this Korean-style spa and sauna, clients pay a flat admission fee for entrance into a 6,000-square-foot space divided into separate men's and women's quarters. Those-in-the-know arrive early for exfoliation, acupressure and massage to take advantage of the wet and dry saunas, cold pool, hot tub and detoxifying fomentation rooms. The overly modest should be forewarned: underwear-clad therapists perform treatments in semi-private rooms, and full nudity is the norm among the majority of the patrons

Great alternative to Kabuki – Kabuki Springs is an SF institution and is a very nice place, but it can also be too crowded sometimes. Imperial Spa in my opinion is a great alterantive. It is a Korean style spa, which means it had a hot pool with a separate cold plunge pool, a steam room with herbs, a sauna and shower areas (also has the sitting-down bathing area you find in Asian spas), and wheelchair accessible areas. The men's area is separate from the women's section. It's very quiet, nice skylight and virtually nobody else when I was there. I'll definitely go back because it's so rare to find such a clean, non-crowded area in SF these days. They also have acupuncture and massage services but I haven't tried them yet.
