Drink or bedamned. Do NOT plan on getting any work done there because as soon as you move to tables in the dining room, you will be IGNORED! Plus, if you mention anything to Chad, he'll show you the door. Now I do not expect any restaurant or bar is anyplace to set up shop/office, but the odd occasion where you want to type out your blog and have a pint or two shouldn't subject one to getting pooped upon like may (and did) happen. So drink up,and get the hell out!!
SO OVER IT!!. If you want bad, greasy bar food and dirty looks then go to Bagpipes....My first experience was great. The waitress was friendly and my drinks were cheap. My second experience not so much. The waitress seemed ticked that females were sitting in her section (even though it was empty) and then I asked for my drink made a specific way, she wasn't sure if they could do it but she did get a manager (kudos.) Well then Warren comes over with his obvious substance abuse problem, reeking of cigarettes, and tells me flat out NO that I can't have my drink made with milk instead of half and half. Instead of giving an apology as to why they could not make my drink a specific way, he gesticulated wildly and said NO rudely and walked away. I ordered my wine, drank it and we continued our night elsewhere....
Best Bar Around!!!. I absolutely LOVE Bagpipes! The bartender Chelsy was GREAT, the manager Will went above and beyond. They had a great atmosphere the BEST drink specials and....amazing fried pickles! So head on down to Bagpipes and pick up sum good old fashioned Irish hospitality! Seriously from a long time Austinite it's a breathe of fresh bar air!
Plasma screens and beer aplenty make this combination Irish pub and sports bar the choice destination for the guys..
In Short
The scene is always lively and fun in this red and green festooned restaurant/bar. Everything from Irish beef and Guinness stew to burgers, pizza and chicken wings can be washed down with the ample, globe-trotting selection of draft and bottle ales that share the bar with specialty cocktails and a modest wine list. Multiple sports channels offer entertainment during lengthy daily happy hours.
Poor quality food, rude management, good beer selection, friendly waitresses. The third (and last) visit to this sport bar. The food has consistenly been poor quality and pricey, considering the type of food. This is primarily a TV, food snack and drinking establishment. Good selection of beer. Wait staff is very courteous; however, managment was not customer friendly (rude) when advised of food quality and that it was not served warm. Very noisey, but that's a sports bar!
