Simply WOW! – Not sure why anyone would ever give this place a bad review. It has to be one of the best places in all of Colorado. The food was the real type of Italian that one would find in rural Italy - not the Americanized spaghetti-type of red sauce and pasta. This place is the real deal!

I ordered the pork loins and could cut it with a fork - it simply melted in my mouth. The burrata was fresh and creamy and the deserts were out of this world! My boyfriend had Opa belly and was buttery and delicious. I think one can only find the best fish in high-end Italian restaurants such as this one.

The whole experience was wonderful. I especially liked chef Andrea - he is extremely personable and authentic. He even remembered us from the last time we came in. This place takes the cake!

The WORST restaurant in Denver – This is the second time I have been to the restaurant and it will be the last. In this day and age how can a restaurant can survive when it treats its customers so terribly is beyond me. If you expect service form this establishment you should avoid it at all costs. If you expect good food or a decent wait staff you should avoid this restaurant. If you want to be treated in an undignified and rude manner then you should make reservations today!!! You can get better service and treatment from just about any other restaurant in Denver. I called and made reservations for two at 8:15. We were not seated until 9:15. Nothing was done to accommodate us. The wait staff was rude and the Chef Andrea Frizzi was the leader of the rude brigade. He is pompous individual that did nothing to make the evening correct expect accuse my date and I of not being nice and all we had was wait patiently for a table. Please read the other reviews and you will see that if the review is bad it is probably telling you more of the real story than anything else.

Awesome lunch at Il Posto! – I've been to Il Posto for dinner and its always a treat, but lunch!

I started with the Calamari ripieni which is Stuffed calamari that was out of this world good.

My meal was Pappardelle salsiccia a homemade pappardelle, marjoram sausage ragu and mushrooms.

This was mouth watering deliciousness! I washed it down with 2 Peroni's and had a most

satisfying lunch! I'm glad Il Posto is now open for lunch.

Mixed messages – A group of us went to Il Posto for a special occasion and chose the tasting menu. The salad was uninspired except for the sand it was full of. We mentioned this to the manager who came to the table to apologize but offered nothing in the way of compensation or replacement. The risotto was good as the next course but nothing spectacular. The main course choices were quail and ono. The ono was good but not at all exciting and served with grilled endive and a stewed tomato, the quail was overdone and came served with a mushroom cap and slice of beet. The waiter even came back to the table to ask if the quail was OK. When we said it was OK he said "I thought it looked overcooked" . We confirmed that it was dry but wondered to ourselves if he thought it was overcooked, why he would have served it, especially after we had been served salad full of grit? The wines paired with the courses were uniformly delightful. Dessert was fine. The bread was great as was the olive oil it was served with. I would have been a lot happier having bread and wine and saving at least part of the $65 for dinner.

Overated food, rude staff, noisy and uncomfortable – We had reservations for 7. We arrived at 7 and we told to go down to the bar 2 doors

down. we were seated at 7:45. NO apologies from anyone. The wine is overpriced, but good. My little pasta dish arrived luke warm. The waiter was miffed that I complained about it. The portions are small, which is OK

but not at these prices. Lots of attitude, but not worth it. We sat at a high top table next to the door, which the host was also using as

a desk and place to hold the phone. I don't pay these prices to be next to their phone.

Uncomfortable and very noisy. Skp this overrated place.

Denver's Best – I read MetroMix's review on Il Posto that this place really could be Denver's best so I thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed - the food was absolutely fabulous. The texture of the pork belly was like butter and I did not even need a fork. The flavor was like nothing I've had before - simply amazing. I never thought pork could actually melt in one's mouth. The atmosphere was quiant and a bit small but cozy nonetheless.

The open kitchen is unique like Table 6's but the food and service were far superior in my opinion. There is no other place like this in Denver - at least from what I've found. There is a lot of hype out there but this place is the real deal - bar none.

I especially enjoyed the chef - although a bit hard to understand with an Italian accent. He was exteremly personable and sincere. I love places like this where the chef makes him self available outside of the kitchen.

I can understand though why some Coloradans may not appreciate this place - it's like a whole new dining experience for most. One needs to slow down and actually taste the food one is eating. We all typically gorge ourselves but if we slow down and actually let our tastebuds to the talking - you'll find this slow-roasted food is out of this world! I think this is why Il Posto is a favorite among foodies. I read the reviews of the food editors and all of them recommend this place which makes it worth trying - even if one is not used to eating marvelous food.

I see myself becoming a regular. The chalk board written in Italian is a buit overwhelming but I think it adds to the whole dining experience.

I simply love this place! Hands-down, Denver's best so far

You could not drag me back here for free food. Horrible treatment! – The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I can't rate it 0 stars. We had a reservation for 6 on Valentine's day. My good friend, who goes there frequently, was never informed of the special menu and price for that night. This alone is insulting. I personally had planned on eating very little due to a recent tragic event in my life left me with hardly any appetite, and yes, the price was hard to swallow as well. I explained my situation to a hostess & my server, asking if I could simply have a salad or share a meal with my partner. I saw the head chef, who spent more time on the floor than in the kitchen, say "NO! Absolutely not! No other food allowed and the price is PER PERSON!" So I decided to not eat vs. throw good money away for something I wouldn't eat. The server said they were small portions, and indeed they were! I watched my fiance & a male friend try to fill up on the tiny portions, and half of the dishes had a sliver of fish, which my fiance doesn't like. There was only a choice on the main entree. Even with me not eating, my fiance had to shell out $140 for his lacking dinner, wine, tax and tip. There was no apology to my friend for never disclosing the set up for Valentine's day night. And since I had no idea about the set menu, the lack of compassion for my needs from the owner/head chef was the worst treatment I've ever received in any restaurant. And the most unbelievable part of the whole dreadful experience is that the food served that night WASN"T EVEN TRADITIONAL ITALIAN FOOD! After that, we went through the Arby's drive thru. If I had a chance to do it again, I would walk out of Il Posto and EAT AT ARBY'S INSTEAD. I'd say if you really want Italian, go to Olive Garden or Noodles & Co. instead. And no, I don't own any business/restaurant near or around this place.

A real Italian chef brings deliciousness to Denver! – Like many people, I was raised to think "Italian" food meant pizza, lasagna and spaghetti with tomato sauce. Though it has taken me almost 30 years to figure it out (and too many Italian restaurants to name), I?m glad I now know what real Italian food is supposed to taste like thanks to Il Posto. From the minute my group walked in the neighborhood joint I was swallowed up by the intimate atmosphere ? the hustle of the serving staff, the pleasant ringing of pots in the open kitchen mixing with the sizzle of flames, the undertones of conversation from patrons nearby. The simplicity of the decor was matched by the simplicity of the wine list and the menu. Each bottle of wine was obviously thoughtfully chosen to be on such a select list and we were thrilled when the sommelier made suggestions based on our tastes instead of a dollar amount. The chalkboard menus on the wall were eclectic and even though they weren?t handy for everyone at the table to see, we were happy to shuffle around to gaze in wonder at the deliciousness that awaited us. I could go through every item we ordered but my words won?t do it all justice. Let?s just say I?m still daydreaming about gooey burrata & prosciutto, tender gnocchi with cauliflower, pork belly that I didn?t want to share a bite of with my friends and little donuts that were doughy bits of heaven drizzled in some vanilla nectar. I?ve always dreamt of marrying an Italian and moving to the land where indulgence is a way of life but if that doesn?t happen for me then parking myself in a seat at Il Posto every chance I get is the next best thing.

Denver's Best! – Simply wow! Il Posto was by far the best cuisine - especially Italian cuisine I've ever had in Denver. I definitely compared to any food I've had in Paris, Rome or New York City. The quaint little place reminded me of a trendy Soho restaurant and the fare was simply amazing. The fresh Gnocchi was gorgous and the espresso short ribs could have been eating with a spoon - they were that tender.

Denver has its share of great restaurants but this place made all the rest seem like a Denny's. I eat out a lot - may be four to five times a week. I can see myslef eating at Il Posto at least once a week. I is really that good.

Very disappointing. – I read great reviews about Il Posto and decided to give it a try and was very disappointed. Our waiter was great but the food was below average. The sauce on our pasta tasted like it came out of a jar and had no flavor. The chicken we ordered was supposed to be stuffed and was not and it was also supposed to have pancetta with it but it was nowhere to be seen. The other entrees we ordered were bland and not worth what they charged. I will never go back and do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
