I do not recommend Banfield for cherry eye surgery. Without our consent or knowledge, an intern, rather than a doctor, operated on our dog. The eye is now worse than it was prior to the surgery. Banfield admitted something went wrong and that intern had done surgery. They offered to redo for free. NO THANKS!! We are going elsewhere.
Horrible, dangerous grooming for your pet – Do not take your pet anywhere near this horrible store for grooming! They shaved my dog so close on her fanny that she was cut and had an awful infection for two weeks. Over $300 later, the price their Banfield Pet hospital charged me to treat her for the infection that their store induced, it finally appears to be healing up. Treatment consisted of me treating her site topically twice a day, daily antibiotics, daily pain medication, wearing a cone, etc. The grooming salon refused to admit it was their fault although the site was inflamed and infected 48 hours after their grooming and she had absolutely no problems when she was taken in. A conversation with management resulted in no reimbursement for any medical expenses. I have since spoken to others who conveyed similar problems with Petsmart. I will never take my dog here again or give them any of my business. Horrible, horrible place!!!
Looking to board? Pet Hotel is the way to go! – I had a great experience at the Pet Hotel inside Petsmart! Vanessa was very sweet and accommodating to my nervous needs! Roxy did not return stressed out and I feel as though she had an honestly relaxing stay. Upon my arrival to pick her up, they surprised me by washing her bedding and presenting me with a report card of her visit. I was so thrilled and I cannot wait to enroll her in the daycare program they have. I strongly recommend anyone to board with Pet Hotel, you will not regret it!
HORRIBLE – DO NOT USE THE GROOMERS AT THIS LOCATION! I was treated very rudely by the grooming staff, and when I went back to complain to the store's manager, he didn't care. I told him I would not shop or use the groomer's at this location, and that I'd be happy to let his regional manager know why. He said, "OK". Since when does a business that is supposed to be dedicated to the care and keeping of animals care so little about the way the customers who shop for their beloved pets there are treated?
Very Happy with Petsmart! – I have been to this location many times and haven't seen what the first reviewer was talking about. I was third in line and they called for another checkout person. The last time there were 3 check out people so I walked right up.
I like that I can do so many things for my dog at one location. They have supplies, a vet, dog hotel, dog training classes and grooming. I can drop my dog off at the hotel and then have her groomed before I pick her up.
A good site worth to shop again – PetSmart is a good site where I buyed my products online, it's easy to use, the shipping time is fast. In order to save cash I would like to log in site couponsavemore since it gave me shopping rewards. I would definitely shop this merchant again. Creepy desk people, rotating pet playtime – I was told on the phone to bring in our puppy any time between 9 and 5. Not wanting to leave my pup all day we showed up around noon. They had deleted us from the list and said "Next time you need to call and tell us you'll be late" I asked why no dogs were playing and they said staff takes lunch from noon to 1300 and they would put my dog in a kennel to wait. I didnt want that (hence, taking him to day care) and said I would bring him back at 1300. The girl at check in rolled her eyes and had this nonverbal body language with another girl at the desk. So, I agreed to go ahead and admit our puppy. We waited until 1330 just to make sure he was going to do well on his first visit. He never made it to the play floor. My husband went in and asked why. They said they have to rotate only 20 dogs at a time. In between they have to sit in a kennel. We just got our dog back and went home, of course with much more eye rolling and nonprofessional behavior.
My dog loves day camp – My dog has stayed over a couple times, and has gone just for the day for day camp. He loves day camp, and always comes home exhausted (so I can relax, hooray!).
Sometimes they answer the phone right away, but some days you can call all day and they won't answer. I've left messages and they've never returned the call. This is very frustrating.
Great Place!! – This was a overall great stay for my bosten terrier Pistachio. My dog needs lot of attention and lots of excersise. At the Petshotel he got both and more. The staff are very friendly and flexible. My dog came out clean and with a smile. The only thing i disliked was they gave me a blanket filled with urine and digested dog food. Also the pricing is a little high but its worth it because they give your dog or cat the feeling of home. Also they have added a new feature of talking to your pet. Its great and when i go away for week trips he can hear my voice!
Terrible Petstore – The Cary location is always busy. Not too surprising considering it is in crossroads, but there is no getting in and out. Check out lines are always busy, they have multiple registers but at the most only use 1-2. Staff is alright, somewhat friendly, but gives bad advice. I took my water in to be tested for my aquarium (the PH and ammonium levels were off), and the person helping me told me to do a water change with bottled water. I have been to a professional fish store and they have never told me to purchase costly bottled water for my fish tank. That is not the first time someone in the fish department has given me bad advice.
Pro: Convenient location, good selection of pet items
Con: Hire some more cashiers
