A taste of the "old" Castro, this place is like any small-town place in, say, Ohio (with a homey menu to match), except that's it's been gay owned and operated since forever, and there are pictures of leather daddys and drag queens all over the walls. When the fog rolls over the western hills, there is nothing like dipping inside The Cove for a toasted cheese and Tomato Bisque soup. Perfect!
Free one of a kind historic slide show & feeling at home! – No whre else I have traveled lets you have such a warm home town feeling and at the same time let you see the works of so many tallented photographers and colorful images of what make this town-One Of A Kind!
Great for breakfast! – As soon as you step into 'The Cove' you garnish a sense of family (and you can take that a multitude of ways). The staff is fun and friendly without being too overbearing and you can't beat the breakfast offerings. If I didn't know any better I would think mama was in the back cooking up her best breakfast for her babies. You can't get any better than this, oh and the people watching is fun too! Of course you can come any time of the day but breakfast is my time.
Wonderful place, – Great neighborhood feel, and warm & friendly staff
the food is 100% comfort and the service is fun and flirty. The soups are to die for and the crowd is always fun to watch.
Go for Brunch on the weekends.
