Very good! Clean, fast, healthy, and tasty. The falafal is BAKED,and, that's ok with me. The salads are filling and delicious.
The "Subway Sandwich Shop" of Falafels – You would think if your sole specialty is chickpeas, you'd get it done right. Not the case, friends. My falafel balls were bland, dry and boring. Thankfully there's a huge assortment of toppings to drown out the tasteless falafel. When there are so many street carts really perfecting the art of falafel, I have no reason to visit this place.
It does promote the "healthy" kind of falafel, however. Which means baked, not fried. Maybe that's how they lose all their taste?
Anyway, the decor is nice and "fresh" looking and the staff are nice enough.
For a real banger of a falafel, try Crisp in midtown.
Top-Notch falafel and shawarma. – One of the city's most aggressive attempts to market fresh, top-quality falafel and shawarma to a middle-class audience, Chickpea does a narrow menu really well.
