My favorite club in NYC. Clean, plenty of towels, more equipment than you'll ever need.

Good gym so far – I just joined last month with some big sale because my roommate was a member too. I haven't had any of the problems that others are saying about the AC, so far its been a really good experience and I normally dont do gyms. Was a member at NYSC but hated it and never went. The guy that signed me up was really nice and the desk always knows me when I check in. Love Hugo's class on Tuesday & Thursday...its packed but a great class! Only downside is there is no pool, but the energy is great and makes me actually love going to the gym! Would definitely recommend over the other gyms in the area, very clean, great energy and nice staff.

Awesome Health Club – I LOVE THIS CLUB?.It is so exquisite and looks more like a luxury hotel than a fitness club which motivates me so much more to go more! The club is always spotless, the showers are fab and there is always AC. I have been a Member of many gyms in the community and in the city as I have been living here for over 10 years and NO OTHER club can compare to the friendly staff, the design, or the amazing classes this place offers. I am talking about the overall experience. I took an Abs class a week ago and I am still feeling the burn! It never feels too crowded and you can always find a machine unlike other gyms in the area that are smelly and dirty! It is worth every dollar to join this place and I HIGHLY recommend it!

great club with community feel – this is a beautiful club with all the amenities and a very helpful, professional, friendly staff...the a/c was out a few times, but was resolved right away (building issue, not equinox), and they allowed us to use any of the wide network of gyms

Don't join Equinox Murray Hill – I have been an Equinox members for over 3 years now and have been to most of the Equinox clubs in NYC, I have to say that this is the worst Equinox club that I have ever been to.

Reasons why:

1) No air conditioning. The manager told me that the problem will be fixed in May, but still no air coniditioning

2) Bad attitude support staff in the front desk and in the gift shop.

3) Dirty towels. The cleaning staff at Equinox uses the same towels that they give you to mop the floor and the bathrooms

4) Dirty bathrooms

5) Too many people - This gym over sold its memberships. During rush hours you have to wait for ~20 mins for the treadmill

6) No floor trainers - Unlike other Equinox where there is always a floor trainer to help you, there is none at this Equinox 90% of the time

Looks Much Better than It Actually is. Lousy Air Conditioning, broken showers, dangerous flooring. – The place looks like it should be awarded the Architecture Digest Award for prettiest Healh Spa. But wait until you actually use the facilities.

There is very little air conditioning in the workout areas and NONE in the locker rooms. Once you start using the treadmill or stairmaster, the stifling humidity and heat will sufficate you. The glib staff will assure you that the problem will be fixed. But don't hold your breath. They've been saying that since the place opened!

Unless you want to fall and fracture your ribcage, do NOT walk on the locker room floors in your barefeet. The floor tiles in the shower area were made to be looked at and admired but NOT walked on. Slippery when wet is an understatement. Fortunately, lawyers are always nearby and lawsuits will be paid promptly.

The showers should be called drizzles. They all feature the money-saving low-flow nozzles ensuring that a 5 minute shower will take 15 minutes... at the very least.

Very little in the way of stretching areas. hard, sharp edges on the stretching areas that do exist ensure that you will cut your skin open while you stretch.

The bathroom areas smell like week-old urine. The bathroom areas are rarely mopped.

This place is wierd... and I mean that in bad, unaccomodating and expensive manner.
