Promises not filled! – Very unhappy with the custormer service. Their prices online do not match what you will pay in the store. Then when you are told a product would be in on a certain day, it was not! I was told that our new microwave and trim kit would arrive on a Monday (ordered on the Thursday before). I was excited and willing to pay a little more to have it in sooner. Monday came and no microwave or trim kit. Tuesday, the microwave came in, but no trim kit. I found out on Tuesday, that the microwave would have never come in on Monday as they were not going to the GE location to even get it! The owner told me that I would be getting my trim kit no later than Thursday! Guess what today is Thursday and no trim kit!!!!!!!!!! They don't know when or where it is at this point. The most frustrating part is that I spent more money to get it sooner and now will get it later than I could have gotten it from another company. I will never use them again, if they can't get a small order placed how can you expect them to get a large order done right. Oh yeah, customer service was something like this: Sorry, the rebate program has us swamped. When I went in to pick up the microwave, at least 3 people were sitting around talking about nothing!

GREAT DEAL! – I just wanted to write a review and let people now this is a cool little spot to support local business while getting a great bargain. Mostly because I know most people dont write reviews when everything goes smoothly, but I am gonna say that my experiences with these guys were great. Friendly and everything they promised with my washer dryer was delivered quickly and correctly..Good Job Austex..

NXR 36" range – Wonderful Customer Service !

I am enchanted by Mr. Bill, probably the patriarch of this company. What a pleasure to be helped by him.

I took the time to enroll on Citysearch so I could give this company my complements. I love my new NXR 36in Range (delivered to me in 3 days), but I am really thankful to them for the Costumer Service they gave me when I called many times to ask questions and more questions about the range. I also talk to him about range hoods and he goes on to tell me the brand that he has on his house and etc... Very friendly and personable. Thanks again.

What Customer Service Use To Be! – Our brand new french door, bottom freezer, $1300.00 LG refrigerator went out about a month after we brought this little baby home. Called Austex after talking to nameless brainless on the phone about their product to the point of ripping someone's head off!! They were so pleasant and understanding it broke that rage and before long we were laughing about the situation I found myself in. To make long story short...Austex was in my house that day and I live in Buchanan Dam!! They worked around what they had on their plate that day and squeezed me in. They are A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

OABTW....the POS went out again, so guess who I'm calling? Don't walk, run away from LG.

Customer Service and my new appliance.... – I went to Austex a few weeks back to check it out because a friend mentioned them and said they have great floor model specials and were a hidden gem here in Austin. So I went down looking for a new fridge because my new house I just closed on had all the appliances except the fridge. I went in looking for a side by side but then Robert showed me some great deals on some closeouts and some Samsung french doors that were much lower then the price I would have paid had I gone to a Sears Lowes or HomeDepot. All in all I was really pleased with the Customer Service and my Fridge works great to go along with many compliments from my friends...The only tough part is finding it. it's a little hidden but they have a bunch of signs leadiing you back to their store. I guess thats why my buddy said it's a hidden gem.

Got my new appliances...Thanks Aus-Tex! – I went in to austex back in May to take advantage of th appliance rebates. They have the biggest selection of any appliance store in austin. I worked with Ben and we put together a Kitchen Aid set up.. some of it was in stock and the rest had to be ordered. My remodel was just getting started so they held my order at the warehouse for more than 90 days which was really helpful. I scheduled delivery a week before i needed it and charles installed everything and did a great job. Thanks guys I'll be back.

Facts about Aus-Tex Appliance – I have read the previous reviews and there are a couple of things that need to be cleared up. Aus-Tex Appliance started as a used appliance company and has expanded there product lines into new,scratch and dent, and closeout merchandise. We rarely sell a used appliance and when we do it would only have a 30 day warranty. Everything else that we offer has the standard 1year factory warranty. This is the same warranty all new appliance companies offer. We get our appliances straight form the manufacturer and we do not service them- WE ARE NOT A SERVICE COMPANY!! We stock about 1300 appliances and any appliance that we do not have in stock we can more than likely order it for you. Special orders take approx. a week to arrive and we are at the mercy of the manufacturer and there given ETA's. Next, we do not give a customer an exact delivery time. We say that our delivery crew will call 30 minutes to 1 hour ahead. We are not a Pizza delivery service, people need to know that we are handling very heavy multiple appliances and some times installations can run longer than expected. There are many other companies that have this same policy- We tell you what day you are scheduled for and they are more than welcome to call and check the status throughout the day. One more thing, we are constantly trying to improve our customer service and when someone is rude and being nasty- We will treat you with the same respect you give us. We are not Walmart we will NOT stand for that behavior torwards our crew!

What a nightmare. – Run away!!! Real snake oil salesmen here. Discontinued & overpriced appliances, non-existent (and often unpleasant) customer service. A total nightmare. I would describe my three-month odyssey here, but it would be too boring and unbelievable. Tried to do a good deed for an Austin independent business, but wish I'd just dealt with Sears, Home Depot, etc. BBB rating of "F" says it all.

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever – The people are arrogant, rude and clearly do not value customer service. It's unfortunate that even had to give them a one. This people conduct business very poorly. It's amazing they still exist.

AusTex DOES NOT VALUE CUSTOMERS – I found AusTex with Google. I figured a local business open on Sun might be a good place to find a fridge since mine died on Fri. The sales associate, although not very helpful, was fairly courteous. He showed me one model and stated it would be "in" that week, to be delivered to my home on Fri or Sat. My total was $513.11 for fridge($399), delivery/ installation ($50) and hauling old fridge ($25).

I heard nothing about my order over the weekend. On Mon (8 days after purchase), I called to inquire about my order. The sales associate assured me it would be in this week. By Thur (yesterday) - 11 days after order, I still had not heard one word - NO e-mail, NO courtesy call, NOTHING! That evening, I sent an e-mail requesting my order be cancelled.

As of today, I had not received a response to my e-mail, so I called to confirm cancellation of my order. For the third time, I was met with a not very helpful, but fairly courteous associate. He stated there would be a 2% cancellation fee, but my credit card would be credited in 2-3 business days. The associate completed the transaction w/o any problem, but NEVER offered to remedy the situation or even an apology for any inconvenience to me as a customer. Had I known that AusTex was not reliable, I would have not gone 2 weeks without a fridge.

Today I visited Sears, and although I paid more - total of $806.44, I got a better quality fridge ($519.99), extended warranty for three years ($139.99 - optional) and next day delivery/ installation ($75) and haul away ($10)! Not to mention a rebate on the delivery/ installation cost ($75)! I'm not suggesting you go to Sears; I'm just suggesting you don't go to AusTex Appliance.
