Unrivaled Party Bash in Chelsea – Star lounge coupled with New Years Eve 2011 makes for an unrivaled party bash! The ambiance of this party haven sets the perfect tone for an explosive New Years Eve. Come and enjoy 5 hours of premium open bar, Hors d'oeuvres, an all-out live NYE 2011 countdown, a complimentary champagne toast at midnight , and a butt-kicking DJ who's ready to spin till the sun comes up.
Had a corporate event here – The firm I work with had a corporate event at Star Lounge which is located in the Chelsea Hotel. My experience was terrific, and I look forward to going back when I'm not in a work setting.
Our firm had AccessGotham arrange the party and everything couldn't of went smoother. If you ever need a party planner check them out, and there services are free! Hands down the best in the business.
Bartenders were social and down to earth.
B&T Lowlifes – This place is total queens crowd. Nasty girls with gross attitudes. Men are dogs and people are rude. Trash all around. Dont go.
Strict Door? – I went to Star Lounge for a charity event. I was told that the strict door policy goes into effect after 10pm, and the regular crowd is exclusive. Honestly the crowd looked like the average B&T to me. There was another party going on, but it seems like the bouncers were letting anyone in. I saw lots of people casually dressed in jeans. I gave this place 3 stars because the lounge is small and cozy with a nice decor, the bartenders are nice, and the adorable Heather Graham was in the VIP room.
New Friday Nights are on FIRE – The place gets packed quickly on new VIP Fridays. You reeeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyyy need to come early to get in. Plus they give you a bottle of vodka for $100 before Midnight, so no excuse. Sopranos, Model Agencies, Magazines and celebrity special events are some of the perks to expect every Friday. The music will not let you out of the place until they will kick you out at 4am. Crowd is A-list and single groups of guys are simply not admitted without couples or buying a table.
Tuesday Night Karaoke is Awesome – I went to this place three times already. TOUGH DOOR. The first time, I waited for 15 - 20 minutes because a group of drunk people were arguing with the bouncers. When it was my turn, they just checked my name against the list and I was in.
PEOPLE, when will you understand that if you don't know anybody (promoters aren't enough!), you don't have money to buy a bottle or bottles and you dress like grandparents, YOU WILL NOT GET IN ANYWHERE. If you are not on the guest list and you can't buy a table, that is not the doorman's or bouncer's fault!
Like I said before, it's hard to get in, but as soon as you are in, it's a very nice place. There are celebrities around -- Heather Graham, Josh Hartnett and Mary-Kate Olsen etc. -- very cozy, great fun. And the waitresses are gorgeous. I had a great time and my friends and I will definitely be back again.
Wanna be Bungalow 8 – I went to the opening on this place and 2 birthday parties afterwards. I honestly do not know what the owners are thinking. I do know that they are trying to make the place super-exclusive like Bungalow 8, so beware of the very tough door (prepare to be insulted if you are not attractive). The fact is the people inside this place are not attractive at all-patrons and staff included--which makes the door policy all that more confusing to me. The owners try to portray this place as glamorous and exclusive, and it's an insult to go inside and look at all the unattractive people. Table service is TERRIBLE. I don't get it. This place is not worth the hassle--Guarantee this place does not last.
BRAVO – HAT'S OFF TO STAR LOUNGE !!!
I've been here three times and everytime I come back I fall in love with this place even more.
The place does not look anything like it's predecessor; one of the best makeovers in NYC.
When I walked up to star lounge for the first time I saw a door girl from Cain and a guy that's
been involved with top venues in this industry for years; I immediately thought, that it was going to be tough to get in but I should be in for a treat inside. Both of them gave the nod of approval and wow I experienced three places in one; a bar, a sleek club lounge, and a private vip room all in one night ! Music was sophisticated and advanced mixed in with some club staples and the drinks were flowing. Another plus was that the crowd was older and more sophisticated than the places on 27th street and MPD. I came back another night with some friends for table service and suprisingly they let me buy only two bottles and the rest I spent on cocktails; another unforgettable night. The last time I went was this past Saturday and all I could say is I wish the party never ended. To everyone that complains about attitude, a hard door and bottle service, GET OVER IT, that's how these veteran gatekeepers sift through the riff raff.
PLEASE Star Lounge, stay on your game and don't open the floodgates and let the B&T through your iron gates; my friends and I want you to be around for a long time to come.
Girl the door is EXTREMELY RUDE! Not worth the attitude! – This is an awful, pretentious place that is not that nice, only has one small bar, no dance area, and the music was not good. It was my friends birthday we arrived around 11:30 and there was not a soul on the line and they would not let everyone in. Our friends that showed up a little later were forced to buy a bottle or else they would not let them in...which wound up costing $500! For one bottle! LOSE THE ATTITUDE!
The Hotel Chelsea's underground lounge goes for Hamptons glam. – In Short
At the Manhattan outpost of this established East Hampton club, Charles Ferri vies for a scene that's just as elite. Whether its location under the famously gritty boheme hotel gives it more or less cache is up for debate, but allusions to the hotel's past do add character to its three simple rooms. Specialty cocktails personifying hotel guests, such as the Addict, a cranberry-Red Bull concoction, can be sipped at the sexy bar, on the main room's low-slung banquettes or, if you're lucky, in the VIP room.
