Two Paws Up! – I have been taking my dog to Camp Bow Wow since Jan 2010 and he absolutely loves it. The staff are friendly and professional. I also like the webcam. You can login to watch your dog play.
Great Doggy Day Care – We have been taking our 2 large breed dogs to Camp Bow Wow Cary for over 2 years. They go at least once a week for doggy day care. Our dogs thoroughly enjoy their time at day care and get very excited the morning they realize they are going to camp. I check on the webcams frequently during the day and watch them interact with the counselors and other dogs. The counselors are even kind enough to help me get our dogs into my vehicle in the evening when I pick them up. Recently one of our dogs was included in the new monthly birthday party they have for the dogs. We even received a picture from the party of him and the other birthday dogs with their counselors. What a fun idea. Going to doggy day care makes boarding easier because they are accustomed to the counselors and the environment. I have no qualms about recommending Camp Bow Wow Cary to all my friends and associates.
Awesome Daycare and Boarding for your Dog(s)! – If you want your dog(s) to have fun and you want to feel confident in leaving them for daycare or overnight boarding, then I highly recommend CBW Cary. Neil and his staff are the best! Your dog(s) will love you for it!
Best Day camp for Dogs – If you want your dog to be tired at the end of the day, take your dog to Camp Bow Wow. They have a great and helpful staff. Most importantly, you dog will love to go.
Owners best friend! – My family adopted a young energetic border/golden mix, with a HIGH energy level. We didn't want to crate her everyday, so I began looking at day care for dogs. My sister recommended Camp Bow Wow, she had great service at the Durham location. I looked at CBW in Cary, and then went to Petsmart to compare to their facility. No contest, the Petsmart was not for us.
We began taking our dog to CBW in Feb, she goes twice a week and absolutely loves it! She knows the routine at home, and when it's CBW day, she gets so excited!
The counsellors are wonderful, she always greets them warmly.
I can tell you that Neil is the new manager of the Cary facility, he came from one of the Durham locations.
Apparently there were problems with the previous management, but I'm glad Neil is here, he's great.
Our dog loves her day care, she has been boarded for a weekend (another coming up) and we haven't had any problems whatsoever. I also like the fact that there is a webcam so you can check in and watch your dog.
Highly Recomended!! – Murphy loves camp bow-wow!! I wouldn' t take him anywhere else, he doesn't even want to come home. It's great to know while I am away that he is in such great hands and is being well taken care of, okay maybe even really spoiled. I love the bonds that he has formed with the other dogs along with the Camp Bow Wow Staff. I recommend them - we love day camp!!!
Wonderful day care for dogs! – I really love Cary Camp Bow Wow! I have a very hyper yellow lab and she looks forward to going to camp several times a week to play with her friends. The new management has been terriffic and thay have even extended the hours! I have also boarded my dog on several occassions and have been extremely pleased. She always comes home tired after a long day of playing. Keep up the good work camp bow wow!!
New Management – I shall preface this review by saying I am a freak about my dogs and am extremely picky about their care.
I personally was very happy with the previous management. I never experienced any of the negativity that I have seen in other reviews.
However, I have to say I am even more impressed with the current management/owners. I am particularly impressed with the staff. They are even more thorough and attentive than previously.
The place seems physically improved as well.
I do wish that the place had someone there 24hrs a day in case of an emergency, but other than that I love it.
My dogs love it and that is most important.
New Owners Great Place – The new owners and staff at Camp Bow Wow are great. My dog loves all the staff and the great friends he has made here. They have 1/2 days which are 6 hours! The 1/2 days are great for me to run errands and Vito to play with his friends. The facility is very clean, organized and temperture controll. You can watch your dog all day long on your computer. The dogs are seperated by size and temperment. They have many different programs to fit individual needs.
Do Not Take Your Dog Here! – We took our 6 month old puppy to Camp Bow Wow thinking that it would be a great way to get her socialized with other dogs. She stayed for a day for the initial consultation to determine that she had a good temperament and could come back as a camper. She had seemed to love her "test" day. She was excited and happy when we picked her up and we felt comfortable having our dog in their hands. We brought her back the next day for a 3 day/2 night stay. Upon dropping her off she was housebroken and an extremely sweet, cuddly dog. We gave the worker 3 treats, 1 for each day, to be given to our dog to give her as something familiar from home. We realized something was wrong with our dog as soon as we picked her up from Camp Bow Wow. A worker gave us back 2 of her bones (not the end of the world, but it did irritate us a bit since the camp had told us to bring something special for her and that they would ensure she would receive one each day). During the ride home, she ran around frantically and cried nonstop. She also shook/shivered uncontrollably. She would not look us in the eye or "kiss" us as she always had. Before bringing her back in the house, we took her on a walk so she could potty. She did not "go" outside, though . Instead, she entered our home and pottied right on our carpet. She had a couple more accidents before bedtime. We were a little concerned but chalked it up to just being "out of the groove" and that tomorrow would be a better day. It has now been a week since we picked her up and this past week has been a nightmare. She relieves herself on our carpet multiple times per day. Even worse, she potties in her crate. She even pottied on our furniture. She has never used the restroom in her crate or on our furniture until after Camp Bow Wow. She also now barks at everyone/everything. She also bit my husband today when he put his hand near her food. Again, this did not happen before her stay at camp. It ended up taking several days for her shaking to wear off. We have an appointment tomorrow with her vet to try to sort out these issues and get her back on track. We are also going to discuss a lump on her ear that we noticed several days ago. I can not be sure if this is an injury sustained from Camp Bow Wow, but it seems likely to me. I know she was initially put in an area with much bigger dogs than she, however, after the first day at camp, their cameras appeared to be fogged over and I could not see any of the areas. She is an 8 pound dachshund puppy and she was in a group with full grown Labs! I can not express to you how disappointed I am in our experience with Camp Bow Wow. I can only hope this simple weekend stay that has turned her into a nightmare will be reversible.
