Gotta Love this place – The food, service, and prices are wonderful. Thank you Superior Grill.
BEST GRILLED TUNA EVER IN THE WORLD...The plate is huge and the vegies are perfect you will love it and the butter is on the side so you can watch your wast line...
Best fajitas, great breakfast/brunch – Best salsa, freshest tasting fajitas, refried beans, huevos rancheros, black bean soup, etc. etc. Great service, too.
Worst Fajita's, SLow service, terrible experience – I have been here twice now, the first time was okay, kinda busy. The food was average, the wait staff was slow. My sister loves the place and she wanted to go saturday before the LSU game (which they won). We arrived just after the lunch rush so we figured we would be in and out pretty quick, wrong. They start out by putting 8 people at a 4' round table. This would be okay if we were only a party of 5, but not 8 especially at a Mexican restaurant. Then we each have water glasses, which is fine but after he brought out our regular glasses and refills we had over 20 glasses on the table with 2 baskets of chips and no room what so ever for our meal. So instead of taking some of the excess off he brings our lunch out. we have so little room now that we have to hold our plates. Still not getting the hint I got up and started putting glasses which were not being used onto his service tray as well as the baskets of chips. He then turned to us and said can i get you anything else. He was clueless!
Now for the meal, me and my brother both had the chicken fajitas because you can't really go wrong with that. Wrong again. They were not sizzleling at all infact the black plate they come on was luke warm if best. The vegetables were all the same color, you couldn't tell the difference between the onions and the bell peppers. The chicken had an unusual amount of fat on it, I had never had fajitas with fat on them, it was disgusting. By far the worst fajitas i have ever had, and to top it all off there was only like 4 little strips of chicken on a broken plate. There are so many other Mexican restaurants to try in Baton Rouge than to ever go back to this place. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because my sister loves the place. If anyone else has had a bad experience or is just looking for another place close to this area try Cozumel by the mall of cortana. The food is much better and the service is genuine.
Awesome Service – Forgive me, but being a black woman myself, I found the comment posted by JENA6 laughible. Yes, racism does exist. However, it is primarily due to people who like to USE it to benefit themselves. I have been a resident of Baton Rouge since Katrina, having lived in what is considered the not-so-good part of town. As a dedicated visitor to Superior Grill, I can honestly say I have NEVER had a problem being served because of the color of my skin. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is up-beat and friendly. If someone has a chip on their shoulder and they expect the world to fix it, get over yourself. The world owes you nothing. Treating others with respect will send you the same reward in return. That manager was a wonderful man and will be missed dearly. Shame on you for making racism a problem wherever you go. You are obviously not from around here and I hope you never return. Keep your trouble making to yourself JENA6.
Great restaurant, too bad they let go their best manager b/c of a false accusation – You know, Superior Grill has been the best place to go for Mexican in Baton Rouge for a long time. Great food, great service--and a large part due to their manager who was recently let go b/c a group from Jena 6 made a false accusation. They were talking about this on the morning show, I think it's called Walton and Johnson. I am a minority and so is this manager, although not black. I have been dining at Superior Grill for years and have brought my white and black friends and I can honestly say that we have been treated like top customers every time we go! This manager especially is an honest hard-working man who has been there 17 years! To accuse him of being against blacks is ridiculous! They don't serve food on the patio--to anyone!! Just b/c you wanted to be served on the patio when the policy is not to serve food on the patio doesn't give you the right to call someone as being against blacks and have them lose their job of 17 years! I mean, how can you sleep at night? I'm not going back to Superior Grill b/c the owner didn't have the decency to stand up for what was right and back up his loyal employee.
Customer service – It seems that there is a difference in the customer service if you are Black so stay away. Racism still exist everywhere, so be aware if you eat at Superior Grill Restaurant in Baton Rouge you never know what goes on with your food there. If the manager can be rude and tell the waiters not to serve the Black customer at their seats but serve the White customers what is he telling them to do to your food? ........
Horrible Customer Service! – If I could give this place zero stars I would! I recently visited this restaurant with my sister. To make a long story short, the server was very rude and did not get my order right. I politely informed him that my order was wrong and he quickly snatched the plate. However, instead of bringing me a new dish he took the one he had served me to the kitchen and LITERALLY scraped off the dressings I had asked to be left off. He served me the same plate that then looked like someone had already been eating from it! Needless to say, I asked to speak to the manager who acted as if nothing was wrong with what the server had done. There was NO apology and he even told the server, "it's okay". It was not okay nor acceptable. I refused the dish and didn't order anything else from the menu. I vowed then that I would NEVER patronize this restaurant again.
yummy yummy yummy! – Food is great! Very fun atmosphere. I enjoy going here with friends on thursday nights to have happy hour. My favorite is the veggie fajitas. They are fantastic. They are always busy and service is good.
