Bad experience – Very dissapointed! There were us (3 people) and another couple on a different table from 7 to 9 PM. we all ordered the specials and food was cold, soup had no flavor what-so-ever and fish was dry. Service was really slow and the server never came and asked us how the food was. Not a dinner place I will return.

Ooooh La La Baby! – My friend Steve and I just saw a movie called Evening in Paris; it was magical...so when we happened upon this cute little French Bistro we just had to go in for dinner. It was fantastic to say the least. The service was great, the food was spectacular with each item looking and tasting like a piece of very voluble art. Even the cappuccino at the end of the evening was made with lots of love back in the kitchen. The wine list was very acceptable to my pallet and the prices were very good. I had the three course special of the evening and although I chose the salad over the soup, I had a feeling that the cream of artichoke may be worth trying and it was out of this world good! I will definitely be going back to this little gem of a bistro. The entire 3 course meal was less than an entre at most of the nice places that I frequent. I was so impressed with the food that we sent a nice tip back for the chef on top of the tip we gave our server. This is my new favorite place in town.

Not French. Maybe Chinese? – We were the only ones in the entire restaurant at 7 p.m. Here's why: It was sorely disappointing. This was not even French food. When we saw the Chinese waiter at a supposedly French restaurant, we scratched our heads but wanted to stay open-minded. Then, when the Chinese waiter explained that the vegetables that came with our entrees would include "Chinese bok choy today," we knew this was a Chinese attempt at French food.

Sure enough, there was stir-fried Chinese greens on our plate, along with something that was supposed to resemble French food, but clearly wasn't. The seafood was rubbery, bland, and just tasteless. This is no exaggeration. We went based on the allegedly stellar reviews, but we will not be back. Who do they think they are fooling? They clearly don't know what French is.

Also, the place looked cheap and bathrooms were dirty. The good reviews must have been written by friends and family. They are in the wrong kind of business. Will not stay open for long.

top 10 on my list – I only go there for their lunch special and since I don’t drink wine, I am not able to tell you how good was the selection but they have lots of wine. Their lunch was only $9.95 and last I had chicken parmesan which was finger licking good, it came with salad and I order the spumoni ice cream. Out of 500 or more restaurants that I have been this place will rank as top 10.

Best Lunch Deal In Town!! – They have a lunch special during the week that has to be the best deal in town! For $9.95 I had a choice of soup of the day or salad, choice of two entrees, and a dessert. That particular day I had their eggplant parmesean. Outstanding! Very tender eggplant with great sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The salad was fresh and delicious, The dessert was about 5 or 6 choclate petit fours with cream that melted in my mouth. Even the complementary bread is excellent. Our bill with drinks tax and tip was around $30 for two. I've spent more than that for lunch in a chinese restaurant. Highly recommended.

Worst imitation French food – Mother's Day diaster! First, reservations were made for four based on reading the reviews posted online. Called and was advised that mothers would get a flower...great! A little personal touch. It went downhill from there. Nothing was fresh... The mimosas were flat, the Bouillabaisse reeked of unfresh moules/clams, the stuff snapper was not fresh and had a "ripe" stench. And finally, the creme brulee did not get the customary torching prior to serving and was not up to par. Oh, and no flowers, I had to cross the street to Randalls to buy the ladies some flowers...!

The mothers were not very happy with my choice. Bad lunch...I would not go back and would not recommend it...

We Felt Like We Were in Europe! – My boyfriend discovered this little Bistro purely by accident when he was just driving by. We had dinner there this past Saturday, and what a complete delight!!! The decor was very charming. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was weighted towards seafood (which suited us fine), but there were also chicken, beef, veal, and lamb entries. There was also a good variety (but not overwhelming) of appetizers, soups (including an on-the-menu 5-onion soup, and the soup du jour -- cream of asparagus), salads, and -- of course!!! -- desserts. The wine menu was not huge, but was quite adequate and the prices were very, very reasonable for purchase by the bottle (less reasonable by the glass ... so, of course, we ordered a bottle!). Bread came with the meal ... a warm loaf with sesame seeds on top and real butter! We split a salad (just right for 2 people), we each had an entree, and we split a dessert. We had a simple mixed salad, which had a nice fresh variety of greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, and a delicious raspberry vinagrette. My boyfriend had the flounder stuffed with crab meat (a menu item, which he said was one of the best fish dishes he had ever had). I had one of the specials ... sauteed monkfish. Monkfish is not easy to find in Houston, and this was prepared simply and deliciously. Both entrees had mixed sauteed seasonal vegetables and a rice pilaf. For dessert we had the Frangelica cheesecake, which was very light and very good. And the special treat (at least for us, because we are music lovers) was the "Romantic Guitarist & Son" ... with Dad on the guitar and Son on the violin and vocals, backed by a computerized percussion section. We really enjoyed the music during dinner. The price was moderate for such a good meal + wine + entertainment. We will definitely go back someday so we can again enjoy the delightful ambiance, excellent service, and try something else on (or off?) the menu! Bon appetit!!!

Excellent, great value Bistro found near the Galleria ! – We so enjoyed discovering this little bistro last night !

In this casual but smart new local find (in a pleasant corner of Bellaire near 610) we found that we could relax with friends over fresh classic salads and inspired seafood followed by a dessert that was charming and light. And it was all such great value !

The staff were warm and welcoming, the interior was fresh and crisp and our server was very helpful in guiding us through menu choices, comparing and contrasting dishes very well. My wife said her lemon sole dressed with a white crab sauce was perhaps the best she'd ever tasted - and she's pretty discerning !

I enjoyed my huge crab cake starter, served with slices of toasted baguette, and this could well have been a meal. The grilled halibut special that followed was sensational, however, topped with shrimp and served with grilled vegetables - a sheer delight. Dessert was an indulgence but we shared a raspberry creme brulee which delivered an utterly delicious melange of flavours. I can still taste it.

The limited wine list could be improved and this should be done anyway but in the meantime a simple, rapid and popular solution would be to allow BYO and charge corkage.

Nevertheless the wonderful food, good service, great value and local character make this is a local gem we shall be returning to often !

Wonderful little Bistro in Bellaire! – Great food, excellent service, quiet atmosphere!!! The lunch menu had a nice selection. I recommend the London Broil and my friend enjoyed the grilled chicken with alfredo sauce and brocoli.
