Not a fan of this or any Massage Envy establishments so far! – It seems that this is not the only Massage Envy who hires therapist with no experience or lack of experience. I think maybe these people just graduated school. Some of the worst massages I have had have been at Massage Envy and this one was no different. I won't go back! I won't be talked into a contract unless it is with a therapist I trust who I know can do a good job and understand my needs and the human body! I will find a therapist who actually knows what they are doing!
Beware – OK, you should be very careful at this place; the owner truely seems to be a wack job. Just be very careful dealing with this apparent wacko.
Love this Place! – I've been member since November and I have had a great experience every time! Front desk and every therapist I have been with have been great so far which is why I wanted to post this because I am kind of confused by the posts from a little while back. Each therapist has their own style and specialties and the ladies at the front desk do a great job with pairing me up with what I am looking for wheather it's relaxation, headaches to deep tissue, which has been really helpful with my back issues as well as with the few sports I dabble in. Before I moved here, I went to one therapist for three years (and she was great too) but being able to switch up pressure and style, as well as always having an appointment option whenever I want is so awesome! Love this place!
Give them a try! – I've been a member for over a year and had nothing but a positive experience at massage envy. Like any massage therapist, you have to "try" different people to see who you like the best. I have 4-5 therapists that I will see, and 4-5 that I won't. The best thing about massage envy is that you can call same day and be able to get an appointment.
Never Again – Horrible is the only way I can sum up this location of Massage Envy. The first couple of visits were wonderful, but my third and final the therapist was so horrible I cried and ran to the car and had my husband pay. These massage therapists I know go through training and maybe throw in a couple of extra classes, but they are by no means a medical doctor. Just because you checked out your little medical book while I was flipping over and you can't find the diagnosis is not my problem. I have definitely passed on this information so my friends from the hosp etc. don't go as well.
Not what it seems – Went here for a Valentines gift for my husband. I asked specifically "how much would it cost for 2 massages". I was told $100 and that would cover two $39 massages and $10 tip for each so I bought a gift card for $100 thinking this would cover 2 massages and tips. This was true for the first massage. Then my husband went back for the second today and was told he owed $15 extra for the second massage and he also gave a tip on top of that. Apparently, only the first massage was $39, then it goes up to $65, unless you join their "club". I felt very deceived. I have to say I called again to ask the same question today to see what they would say and they told me the true cost but I was not told this originally when I bought my husband the gift card so now I am telling everyone, do not go to this place.
The owner – The review by AGreen622 was clearly written by the owner of Massage Envy, Angie Green. Of course I expect her to be biased and praise her own business but my own experience at Massage Envy was quite unpleasant. I received one of the worst massages ever and their sales front desk staff were very pushy trying to get me into buying their membership.
Ms Green (Chandler), I'd change my user name next time I decide to go online and review my own business.
FABULOUS CONCEPT - ENHANCES MY WHOLE LIFE! – I joined as a member 6 months ago. Since that time I have had 7 or 8 massages, plus have used the membership also at other franchises while out of town.
I think the entire experience is fabulous. I want a great massage for my muscles, and I am not looking for the ambiance of a spa. I would prefer not to pay for fancy showers, and plush robes; I want to get in and out on time!
Of the 8 massages, I did have one that was sub-par, and had that been my first or only massage, it may have influenced my decision making.
I have also had a massage that I would consider to be one of the best ever...and I have had thousands of massages all around the world!
So a certain amount of quality depends upon the therapist ,,,,,or if you are a member, you learn who you like and who to book, and who to avoid.
I love the convenience....with 30+ people on the staff, I can almost always get in at the last minute. I have trouble planning my massages in advance.
Anyway, clearly I love it! I even go for an hour and a half instead of the usual 1/2 hour.
And remember .....even though the base price is low, they make their hourly rate on tips, so expect to tip accordingly and the price does go up.
Great addition to our vacation.... – I and my 6 best friends from college came to CHarleston and rented a house on the Isle of Palms for a week..we came across Massage Envy while shopping at Target and had to check this place out.
We were delighted that we (all 7of us) could get an appt at the same time on such short notice.
We all had great massages, the people were all very nice and accomodating.
We will now look up Massage Envy in our home towns as this great concept is located all over the country...
We loved the massage, the nice environment and the BEST price and convenience..Thank you Massage Envy,....it was a nice addition to our girl's week in Charleston. Pdavis TX
Far From Relaxing – If you enjoy running in, having a chart thrown in your lap, being cooped up in a small room, and being given a 50 minute massage...then this is the place for you! This is a poorly run Massage Envy...I am a member from another state and I have never had a problem until I visited the Mt. Pleasant location. That is one of the chances you take when you join these franchises...you never know what you are going to get from one location to another. Being given fresh water is a given, not a luxury. Unfortunately, this seems to be the thinking at this Mt. Pleasant Massage Envy. Charleston offers many wonderful and relaxing spas...I suggest you check them out!
