Great salon! Great atmosphere! A great stylist named Wes Pine – moxi is a really cute salon, very pleasant and nice staff. i am writing about wes in particular. wes has cut my hair for many years and is an absolute magician when it comes to color! his highlights are top notch and he is very conscious of the health of your hair. he's so nice and talks to you about what he's doing to your hair and why and is also really good and efficient at extensions! i recently got some put in my hair and they blend right in!

wes is one of those rare NICE hair stylists that has a real talent!!

Great skills, sweet service – I have been fortunate enough to sample a rather full range of services at Moxi since they've been open, primarily since I let myself be talked into anything, and while I respect the opinions of others and their singular experiences, I can state categorically that Moxi kicks a tremendous amount of booty. Fact. I have had facials, massage services, men's haircuts (sorry, no color yet:)) and I have to love a salon that treats me well, confirms my appointment, offers me a nice glass of wine or beer and flat out deliver s.

I know they are small, and sometimes they can get a bit over run so maybe some folks have felt as if they got the shorter end of the experience, since I have worked in the service/hospitality industry before I can say that I fully realize not everyone can always have a perfect day, I don't think this is an aspect that someone with an office/cubicle/self employed job really gets so if you drop in for one visit and don't get what you expect maybe you should be open to trying them again. I would prefer that you don't, since it will only give me more options for my appointments, but I don't quite get the notes here saying they hate the joint after only one visit. Get real, people. In short, this place, even being in the Marina, has heart, and the skills to back it up. So disregard the naysayers already posted and give them a proper shot with your bad self, trust me, you deserve it.

Ciao!

DO NOT GO TO MOXI SAN FRANCISCO – TERRIBLE vibe. Very unaccomodating. Treated me with disrespect. When I asked to speak with the manager after getting the rude receptionist she whispered about me first before talking to me in a condescending manner. No refunds. Worst "salon" experience of my life. Will never return. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Average spot...nothing special – I have been to salons all over the world, New York, LA, London, Paris, Toronto, Italy and have been getting highlites in my hair since I was about 18 years of age and I think Rebecca at Moxi did a good job. I visited Moxi about 2 weeks ago and had my highlites done with Rebecca. The place is nice, the people friendly, but most DEFINATELY over priced. Like I said, I have been to some AMAZING salons around the world and I have NEVER paid so much for highlites in my life. I don't know if its because its on Union Street...but the outcome was definately not worth the money I paid.

Also, the dry was not very good at all. I have long wavy hair and I had to go home and dry my hair myself to get it straight...or looking half decent. Usually...salons can get my hair pin straight without charging me an extra $60 for a blowdry .

Overall....its ok...but I'm eager to explore some of the more trendy salons out in the mission or castro..that would be cheaper and probably would offer better results. So..you can try it if it looks interesting...

A modern edge and artistic flair characterize this salon tucked in among Cow Hollow's boutiques. – In Short
Fire-engine-red awnings set the tone for this hip destination housed in a white-washed Victorian on trendy Union Street. Inside, art from local talents adds punch to the otherwise stark white, black and red interiors. Stylists deliver cuts and color from classic shapes and partial highlights to image-alteringhair extensions. Hands get help with the salon's signature Moxi Mani, while treatments with the resident esthetician are performed in a separate candlelit room.

Great haircut! – I love Moxi salon! It's a great atmosphere: intimate with attention to details, like chocolates and a lint brush in the changing room and good music. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the stylists are professional. Each of my appointments started out with a brief consultation, a wonderful scalp massage, then off to a relaxing room in the back for a shampoo and another great scalp massage, then back to the front for the cut and style. I've been three times and have loved each haircut. Highly recommended.

Brilliant hair salon – Looking for a great stylist and salon, I came upon Moxi a few weeks ago. I had a great experience in a very unique and cool environment. Rebbecca gave me a fantastic cut and I had a great time being looked after and came out looking and feeling gorgeous...Moxi has a sweet intimacy, not fast or loud, very relaxing and very recommended!!!

talent + experience + smiles = perfection – I have followed Andriana (Moxi's owner) to different salons for over ten years now so my actions speak louder than words. She now has a salon of her own and every square inch of it reflects the classy, polished, zen-like personality of its owner. From the decor to the products to the women who make up the Moxi team, everything is top-notch. Amber's incredible scalp massages that are disguised as simple shampooings, Rebecca's mental vault of intricate hair color data and experience, and Andriana's technique, expertise and cutting-edge know-how make this the only salon you will ever need. The vibe is relaxed, happy and warm and despite the fact that I drive an hour to get there every six weeks, I look forward to each and every appointment. Andriana has participated in some of my biggest life events, including my wedding day and coping with horrific hair loss after the birth of my kids. She added the most incredible hair extensions after my particularly bad experience with the third kid - so amazing that a friend swore I had Botox or some kind of plastic surgery! Every time I walk in I ask her to make me look like I'm NOT a mom of three kids. Every time, mission accomplished.

Whether you are looking for gorgeous color, a hot current cut, luxurious extensions, sleek permanent straightening or an award-winning blowout (as awarded by Allure Magazine!), look no further. Your search is over - and once you step inside, you may never want to leave!
